One great thing about not having a GIRLFRIEND

I expect that OP was "tongue in cheek" and he could have taken it further in saying how much he is better off by not having any children.
I've probably brought at least 95% of the money into the family but don't regret that for a fraction of a second. Apart from that I wonder whether I would have been as financially well off now without the stability and happiness that the family has provided (hope OH never reads this, she'll think I'm going soft!).0 -

Cant understand women who think this way. To me a good relationship has a foundation of being each others equal from the off.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
Who says you have to go anywhere to have a date? When i met hubby i was a single Mum to 2 little ones under 3. When the kids were in bed we had the house to ourselves. In our case staying in was our date.

I think it's fairly clear that nearly anyone would be better off without having children but that isn't the topic. I've certainly been better off financial by being in a relationship as there are certain shared costs you can't really get as a single person. However my girlfriend earns roughly the same as me, I'd imagine if you were in a relationship where your partner earned much less you could potentially be worse off.
There are of course negative aspects to being in a relationship but for me the positives outweigh the negatives, assuming the relationship is good of course.0 -
When I met my husband, he was working in a shop and lived at home with parents so he had a lot of spare money. But I still didn't want him to pay for things, I paid for my own share even though I was pregnant (long story lol). When my son was born I was still really keen on paying for my own way and not accepting money from him.
Now we have our own spending money and pay for everything equallyMoney money money.

Maybe you've just been dating the wrong type of girlfriend.
Check out their profiles more carefully next time and try to pick one with cheaper tastes!0 -
My boyfriend's bank balance has taken a battering, but in my defence thats 100% his doing, he likes to treat me as he knows there are some things i can't afford and his ethos is whilst he has the money spare why not treat me? (I know i know....i think hes crazy too but i do appreciate the selflessness :rotfl: )
Though more important than the money is the fact i get to share my life with someone who makes me very very happy. And the saying does go money can;t buy you happiness (even if it is more comfortable to cry in a mercedes :rotfl: ).This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
