I used to hate taking DS to the pictures because I so objected to the price of the snacks.

Before you pay out for FitOn, I had the paid version for a year and the free version is more than adequate unless you want the meal plan part of it. If you download the free app first they’ll offer you the paid version for 70% off if you want to try it. I think I paid £24.99 for the year. The free version has loads of content and great exercise classes, I use it a lot.

Just popping back to let you know coincidentally FitOn have offered me 70% off plus an extra 20% off the paid version this morning. So I would advise downloading the free app first to see what you think plus they'll send you offers once you've signed up. I'm not tempted as the free content is adequate for me.

Thanks SA, I did download the app when you had recommended it before but haven’t really used it. I’ll need to try it properly, meal plans might be helpful but not sure if I’ll actually use them. 🤔

Today I ordered 2kg & 3kg dumbbells so I can start some proper strength training. I only have 1kg & 5kg at home just now - the 1kg is too light and the 5kg is far too heavy!

My mum is picking the kids up from school today so we have had a pretty relaxed day. I have some chicken marinating in a tandoori spice mix so am going to cook it then chop it through a salad for dinner with DH.

DH’s car cost just under £200 for service & MOT but he still needs to get a new tyre so will probably be another £100-£150.

Will try to get out for a run tomorrow morning after school drop off and see how I feel. It’s now been 3 weeks since the laser ablation so hopefully my legs will cope ok.

I did manage to get out for my run and my legs felt fine, I enjoyed getting out although I really had to force myself!

I have my follow up appointment for my legs in 2 weeks where the Doctor will check with ultrasound to make sure the laser worked and also inject more foam into the veins that are still visible. My thread veins look a lot better already but I can see that they will need more foam and my bigger veins definitely need it. I'm hoping I won't need any more after that as each appointment for more foam costs £360. Because it's more cosmetic I don't need them as such but I would like the veins to look better as well as feel better after spending so much money.

0% CC is down to £2500, hoping to pay another £200 off soon, can't wait to get rid of it!

I have been tracking what I eat and it's helping me to cut down a bit - I have to assess if I really really want that extra biscuit. 😂 I have started added linseeds, sunflower seeds & goji berries to my breakfast (either weetabix or shredded wheat) as well as chia seeds and psyllium husk. I use a bit of oat milk then top it up with chocolate protein shake (creatine & maca root mixed in that too) and fruit. I take my collagen powder in my one caffeinated tea of the day as well. This combination seems to keep me feeling full for a good few hours so is particularly good if I'm working.

Have four days off now after working 2 lates on, 1 off, 2 lates on again and am feeling very tired. DH has been a mixture of night shifts last week and now early shifts this week so he is exhausted. The kids are happy enough and seem to be enjoying school, they both have school trips in the next few weeks so will need to remember to get them packed lunches for those days. I'll also need to put travel sickness patches on DD and give her a tablet before her trip as she gets sick on coaches as well as in cars. The combination of patches and tablet usually works for her. 🤞

I have had to order more white polo shirts for school for DD as she has either spilled something tomatoey or gotten pen on nearly every single one she owns. 🙄 I can't get the tomato stains out and forget it with the pen, if we had any sun then that would bleach out the tomato stains but it's February in Scotland so fat chance of that. She'll probably need a bigger size soon anyway as she doesn't stop growing and I've had to buy her a bigger size in pinafores as her age 5-6 ones were getting so short!

We all have our dental check up this week, it's been over a year as we moved dental practice (following our dentist!) and the NHS check ups are annual rather than 6 monthly now. I think we're going to just pay to get the kids teeth checked every 6 months, I don't like the thought of annual checks for them as they're growing etc, don't mind so much for me & DH as our teeth are both fine.

Still plodding along saving for the last quarter of the holiday, only about £800 to go and it's paid off then just a small amount of spending money to save. Really looking forward to getting away somewhere warm and the kids are really excited about going on a plane as it will be their first time. 😊

I’d be tempted to pop the shirts on the line, it sometimes takes a couple of days this time of year but does eventually work

dawnybabes I will probably stick them out next time it's dry - I actually got two washings out on the line and dried the other day as it was both sunny and windy but forgot the stained polo shirts. 🤦‍♀️ Still I was pleased to get the washing hung out, it dried so quickly due to the wind. Bit sad that I was so pleased with that. 😂

Have been lurking around but too lazy to post. I have paid another £250 off my CC so down to £2250 and have roughly £900 saved towards paying it off. Have been doing well with surveys and am splitting the earnings between the savings to pay the CC off and the holiday savings.

Still keeping up with the exercise although have only been out for one more run since the last post, will probably try and get out again on Monday. I'll have to have another break from running though as I'm getting my foam injections this week coming and will be back in the compression stockings for a week after that.

I've managed to get DH to do some yoga as he's had a sore back again and his hamstrings are sooo tight when he's trying to bend and stretch. I think he needs to do 5-10 mins of stretching a day and it will really help him. I have been adding some strength training into my routine and my arms are so weak, some of the body strength stuff is really tough and I'm starting with 2kg weights when dumbbells are required. 😂  Hopefully I'll see some progress soon though as trying to run at least once a week then do yoga 2-3 times plus 2-3 sessions of strength training and walking as much as possible on top of that. Just walking the kids to school and back twice a day is a big help, even though it's not far.

Really need to start de-cluttering the house more, especially upstairs as we want to get the stairs. hallway and all the bedrooms re-carpeted and if I can get rid of some stuff there will be less to shift about. We're going to get DS's room painted in the next few weeks and sort out more storage for him (mostly shelves).

DS needed new school shoes again as he's managed to wear holes in the heels (again), they only seem to last an average of 2 months before needing replaced. 😩 So annoying as the rest of the shoes remain perfect. DD hasn't destroyed her boots yet but no doubt will grow out of them soon instead!

It has been warmer here the last few days which has been lovely but the temperature is meant to go back down again next week. 😒 Looking forward to nicer temps lasting more than a few days at a time. I have ordered tomato & cucumber seeds and also some seed potatoes (second earlies). Bit late this year as I haven't really been thinking about the garden, have moved my blueberry plants back out of the greenhouse but might need to stick them back in if the temperatures go to minus figures again.

Well done on all the exercise.  I'm also wishing the good weather would last a bit longer!

Thanks for dropping in guys 🙂 funny how a bit of nicer weather and being able to hang a washing out cheers us up.

Forgot to mention that DD had an epic screaming meltdown in the playground after school on Friday. 🤦🏻‍♀️ She was exhausted and really took exception to us trying to put her drawing in her bag instead of her holding it. She snatched it back and crumpled it up out of pure temper!

Then she hit & kicked DH and scratched & bit me all whilst screaming really loudly. We had to walk away! There was no calming her down. Why does she always do this in public as well, so embarrassing, especially in the school playground in front of everyone waiting for their kids coming out. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Part of me is dreading taking her on holiday in case she has one of her terrible meltdowns, especially on the plane. 🫠

We thought her behaviour was getting better but really she’s just having longer between the meltdowns. 🫤

The outlaws are also up to their usual nonsense of wanting to visit but not liking the dates provided.

DH only gets one weekend off a month and 2 fall over bank holidays. They’re refusing to come up because “it will cost more” and “won’t fit in with their other plans”.  Cost isn’t an issue, they are well off and just spent a month abroad!

So they can’t just come up to see their grandchildren like normal people, they “fit” them in at the end of some other holiday or tour around Scotland. 😡 They also really hate visiting when the kids are off school as they just seem to want to get rid of them!!

DH is absolutely fed up with them and feeling pretty hurt that they don’t seem to care about seeing the kids. They want to come up in June now but it’s the weekend before we go on our big holiday abroad so it doesn’t suit us.
