Would they really want to mortgage number to pay it? That's another level of control.
My mum once tried to give me money to buy something and said "that's for that" I bought something else and told her that, she did repeat what it was for, but I told her it was money given to me, I'll buy what I feel is right. If they're directly paying it off the mortgage that's difficult though. X

You're right Beanie, of course we'll take it being paid off the mortgage if they insist but it just rankles that they feel they are in the right by dictating what we do with a so-called "gift".

Willow, they absolutely would just pay it directly off the mortgage. When they offered to pay for our new flooring, front door and patio they wanted to see invoices etc before transferring the money over. The lack of trust/control freakery is unreal.

DH went out for dinner and a couple of drinks with his friend the other night and they both came back to ours for a few more drinks as we all get along well. I think it did DH good to get out for a while.

I was very lazy yesterday and didn't go for my run, I just had a relaxing day instead. Went for my run this morning and managed my best time for a 5k so far - 35 mins 38 seconds - which I was pleased with. My pulled muscle didn't hurt either so hopefully it's healed up and I didn't feel exhausted, just felt good. Still doing run/walk but it's working well for me, my stress incontinence is still an issue but has improved as can run/walk longer before it happens. I'm still working on pelvic floor, core & glute strengthening which seems to be helping. Off to regular physio on Monday so hopefully she can give me some exercises to help with the soreness around my hip and on my left side in general.

My mum kept DS overnight last night on his own and DD stayed with us, she seemed to enjoy being the star of the show but has asked for her brother a few times. We're picking him up soon and will have a chill out afternoon I think.

Have put one washing away and hung one up, another is in the machine just now so will get it on the heated airer when it finishes. No other real housework done today though.

Physio on Monday was good, she was very thorough and also gave me some electrotherapy around my sore hip. I have exercises to do and have to go back to see her in a few weeks. I’m not allowed to run uphill and have to limit walking uphill as well, also not to lie on the sore side in bed which is difficult. Still ok to run though as only doing 5k twice a week. 👍🏻

I might be able to get a referral from work which will mean they will pay for 5 sessions so I have asked my manager about that. First session was £55 and it’s £45 each time after, so not cheap.

Had a so-so run after school drop off on Tuesday, didn’t really want to do it but forced myself and felt better for it afterwards.

Have moved my chiropractor appointment from next week to tomorrow as my back/pelvis is hurting. Hoping to drop the kids off then go for a run beforehand.

Having to collect the kids early from school today as DD needs to go back to the doctors. She seems to have another urine infection as has woken me up crying again about stingy pee. I’m working until 2pm so will be straight home then collecting the kids early & straight to Dr.

I wish you well with not lying on the sore side 😟😟😹.  I find it incredibly difficult.
Hope DD is feeling better soon.

😂 Beanie, it's a real struggle not lying on my sore side, I'm a restless sleeper and move about constantly!

DD had a good night on Thursday and slept through but was crying for over an hour last night about stingy pee again. 😩 The doctor said her last urine test came back negative for infection so they don't actually know what's causing it. She has more antibiotics and some cream in case it's thrush. I have been reading up and it actually sounds like vulvovaginitis so I'll have to avoid bubble bath and washing her hair in the bath and try to keep her clean and dry, she is still having poo accidents at least once a week too which won't be helping. Both drs I've seen have seemed relatively unconcerned but it keeps happening and she wakes up screaming and crying and there's nothing I can do to help her. 😢 She was screaming last night for me to "make it stop mummy". 😞

I went for another run yesterday morning, it was ok, not terrible but not great. I walked the kids down to school and we were soaked by the smirry rain. I wasn't going to get much wetter so just went straight for my run and had a shower when I got back. Had my back and pelvis reset by the chiropractor and it's feeling a lot better today.

DH has been making some extra money and paying it off the last remaining CC, taking it down to £345. Hopefully we can get rid of it in the next 3 month and then concentrate on the loans. The outlaws haven't mentioned the 10k again apart from saying to DH that he needs to give them account info, he's not got back to them on it as he's still annoyed. I will ask him what he wants to do.

We went to a meeting with the school about DS as they wanted to see us about him getting extra support. They said he's behind in both literacy and maths and they want to put him on the waiting list for assessment for learning difficulties/autism. They referred to him as "quirky" 😂 which made me laugh, I agreed he is a wee oddbod and has his own particular ways and loves his routine. Unfortunately the waiting list for these assessments is 4 years! We will apparently get a triage appointment within 12 weeks of the submission to see if they agree that he needs to be assessed but he could potentially be 11 before getting any!

The school are very supportive and are already looking at ways to help DS, especially with moving class as he really struggled with changing teacher last year. They did speak to him as well and he told them that he's happy at school so that's good as he doesn't really have any particular friends. The kids in his class are used to him and try to include him but he doesn't always want to join in. Apparently when they do French in class DS physically removes himself from the vicinity as he refuses to do it!

The school are looking at getting him a safe person that he can go to if he needs help and maybe an older child to help him revise his letters/words and reading as well. They did say it might also be a maturity thing and he might start settling down to his work more in the next few years but they want to get him referred now due to the huge waiting list.

I have lots of tomato and jalapeño seedlings on my bathroom windowsill just now and waiting on cucumber seeds arriving so I can get them started too. Also got some more bare roots hedging to fill the gaps in our hedge at the front so will try to get that done this weekend.

I'm going out for dinner with my school friends tonight so am looking forward to that. I don't tend to drink with them so no hangover to worry about. 😂

  • Hi Sashybo,

I am delurking to mention, I had the same with my daughter for a long time - but her urine was clear, we tried all kinds of thrush creams and I even took her to A&E one  time because she was beside herself but only at night really. Doc at A&E gave us extra strong thrush cream, it worked for a few days then the crying returned. It was an on-going cycle for a long time. When, a friend of mine suggested I give my daughter worming medicine, available over the counter. Now, I was quite desperate at this stage as she we had exhausted everything else, and despite not seeing anything worm related I thought it can't do any harm. So I did, and it completely resolved the issue!

My friend had been advised this by her doctor due to the issues her daughter was having, similar to my daughter, so I thought it was worth a shot. Maybe something to bare in mind if the creams etc don't help.

    Thanks Beanie. 😊

Hi Alipops, thanks for delurking. Your post reminded me that I did consider worms at one point and had bought the medicine so it was in the bathroom cabinet! I don’t know why I didn’t give her it, she must have settled down for a bit.

I have just given her a dose along with DS just in case & have stripped her bed. Fingers crossed it helps and thanks for the reminder!

    Hi Sashy,

I'm going through similar with my daughter for ASC testing. I've got the opposite with school not really saying anything, but I know something isn't right.

I'm looking at a private screening to get her support as soon as I can. Just opening up that private screening is available. It's expensive and I know how difficult things are budgeting wise but if you are in a position in the future, it could be something to look at if you're still waiting. X

Little miss is under assessment for ASD.  She was referred by school in yr1, she's had the initial triage assessment in yr 3, we got a letter saying they think she needs proper assessment, but haven't heard anything else since.  It's a long wait!
