Thanks all, these are just bog standard nail wraps but there are also gel wraps that you can cure under a uv lamp. I might look into those at some point as I’m very hard on my nails. 😂
Got the bathrooms wiped down, hoovered upstairs and the stairs and did the big cat litter clean today. Also got 2 washings done and out on the line plus DS’s new school jumpers done separately as they’re red and I don’t fancy dyed clothes. The jumpers and second wash weren’t dry so are on the clothes horses upstairs.
Also did more yoga for my hips and core, my sore hip has been feeling a bit better since last week, hopefully will keep improving.
DH working very late all week (1/2am before he gets home) so he’s not happy when the kids burst in every morning at 7am. I’m up at 5am on Friday & Saturday for work so hopefully they let him sleep in a bit.

That CC will soon be gone.
I'm not sure I could work till that late anymore. I struggle going out past 10pm now.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x2 -
I would love to see the back of the smallest CC by the end of the year Willow but that might be a bit optimistic! The second last payment to the garage conversion loan came out today so we will soon have another £155 pm to go towards debts. Although some of it might need to go towards our increased energy costs as our fixed deal ends this month. 😭
We really need to get rid of the debts due to the costs of everything just going up and up, our fixed rate on the mortgage also ends next April so our mortgage payment will probably increase too, just hoping interest rates have settled by then. 😢
DH had his car tax letter through yesterday, £180 for the year 😱 but we have £350 in the car savings so have the money to pay it thankfully.
DD still refusing to toilet train so will need to spend another £20 ish on pull ups tomorrow, she just doesn't seem to register needing to go until she's actually peeing. Tried a sticker rewards chart and she was totally uninterested in it. 🤷♀️ Maybe going back to nursery will help a bit but I'm doubtful. I know she'll do it in the end but I just wish it was now, I'm really sick of changing nappies after so many years of it!
Hoping to drop off the stacking toy boxes that I emptied from the living room at my sister's house tomorrow after work as my nephew is taking them for his son. Will also take a bag of old clothes/shoes to the charity bin at one of the supermarkets as I need to pick up some ingredients for our weekend baking.
I have loads of jalapeños on my chilli plant in the greenhouse so also going to pick some of those to take with us to DH's friend's house on Sunday as he is making pizzas. Hoping it won't rain so that the kids can play out in the garden and on the trampoline, there will also be a dog there so need to talk to the kids about kind hands and staying out of the dogs face. We've been trying to work on DS's bad habit of butting into adult conversations and are trying out the approach of getting him to put his hand on our arm if he wants to say something. He actually remembered to do it the other day so hopefully he'll keep doing it.
DH very grumpy as he's tired and the weather is so humid, he has also came off his anti-depressants (gradually) and think that might be affecting him as well. Fingers crossed he gets over it soon, tonight is his last shift for 5 days so hopefully he can have a rest. I'm only working tomorrow and Saturday and then I'm off for nearly 2 weeks as I put in for lieu days next week for the kids going back to school.
We have put some money aside for paint for the stairs and hallway so hoping to buy that and I can get that done whilst I'm off work. I won't be able to reach the highest points though and will need DH to help with that along with a big ladder.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. So I think Sunday went ok, I didn't get terrible vibes from the OH but I also didn't get great vibes either. She was nice enough and chatted etc but didn't seem particularly interested/into the situation? I don't know, I couldn't really read her. 🤷♀️ DH said the same and wasn't sure about her either! DH's friend seemed to think it went well and DH said he was really happy that we'd met his kids and OH, so maybe it went better than we think and she's just a bit cautious with new people. 🤷♀️ She seemed a bit more at ease with my DH than me but he is generally better at talking to people than me when first meeting them.
The kids enjoyed themselves and the teenagers who were present said more than 5 words which was impressive. 😂 DH wanted to steal the dog. 🤦♀️ 😂 We took over some home grown jalapeños, cucumbers, tomatoes and a pepper, which went down well along with some beer and the desserts.
So anyway we will return the invitation and first of all see if they come to ours and second if they do come we'll see whether the OH has warmed up a bit more!
The kids are back to school and nursery tomorrow and I can't wait. 🎉 DD is really excited and DS isn't too fussed.
I stripped and remade all the beds today and got all the sheets out on the line. Also hoovered the couches then the rooms upstairs and gave all the bathrooms a wipe. Tomorrow I want to clean all the downstairs floors, hoover the stairs and tidy up the front garden as it's a riot. I'm going to make a Thai coconut butternut squash soup as well.
DD has started stripping off her nappies as soon as she pees and wants to wear pants, which is fine but then she just pees in the pants and won't use the potty or toilet. 🤦♀️ I suppose it's kind of progress. 🤦♀️
DH has done his back in again so we haven't got much done/gone anywhere as he can't walk for too long. He's working early shift tomorrow and back for 7 days in a row, I hope his back doesn't get worse. He doesn't want to phone in sick as he's still on a stage from his last long term bout of sickness. 😔Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Glad the weekend went ok.
Hope the back to school/nursery goes ok."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Thanks all, I’m still alive! Poor DH went back to work and his back was improving then he ended up ill with some sort of d&v bug. 🤦🏻♀️ So he had to phone in sick and was off for 3 days last week in the end.
Kids went back to school and nursery quite happy and have been pretty good going in so far. I’ve been walking them down to school every morning so getting a bit more exercise in too. Keeping up with the yoga and intermittent fasting and am very close to 13lbs lost since the end of May. 💪🏻 Just another stone or so to go now.
DH & I painted our stairwell and upstairs hall over the last two days. We still need to tidy up the splashes etc but the bulk of the painting is done. 😀 Only 3 of the bedrooms left to do but having a break for now.
Planning on making my Christmas cakes tomorrow (I like to start early!) and a bit of general cleaning and tidying. We finally got a replacement battery for our robot hoover, I really missed it when it wasn’t working as it picks up so much cat hair that the big hoover doesn’t on the flooring.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks both, I'm really pleased with the weight loss as I haven't been feeling hungry or depriving myself of anything, just fasting for 14-16 hours a day. I'm trying to exercise more and even just walking the kids to school in the morning is helping as I need to walk uphill most of the way back. The woman's health physio I went to see told me that walking uphill is very good for your core and that's what I'm trying to build up again as it all links up with the pelvic floor.
Today I have been very lazy and done nothing apart from some washing, unloading the dw and getting the kids out to school and nursery. DH back working lates today so I'm picking the kids up and also have my sister's engagement party later. No idea what I'm wearing and the weather is awful, really heavy showers all day so far. Now there are hailstones!
I'm back at work on late shift tomorrow for the first time in 2 weeks so that will be a shock to the system. My mum is keeping the kids overnight so we will get a wee lie in on Sunday. Then working lates Mon/Tues so the school run will be fun next week. 😴 I've been getting up earlier and the extra half hour makes it much less stressful but it's hard when I've been working late the night before.
DH is still struggling a bit health and mood wise but we think it may all be down to coming off his anti-depressants. Fingers crossed he feels better soon as he's been very grouchy and short tempered and having a lot of IBS like symptoms. Shift work doesn't help either.
I managed to get my Christmas cakes made and wrapped up yesterday so they will be nice and boozy by Christmas. I always make 4 smaller cakes and end up having one spare - 1 goes to my mum, 1 to my shift at work and 1 for ourselves. DH's friend (the one with the OH who seems ambivalent to us at best!) likes christmas cake though so I have managed to find a home for my spare cake. 😂 Have also been giving him my extra tomatoes as DH & DS don't really like them and there are more than DD & I can eat. DH doesn't have many local friends, they all live in different towns or in England, which is why it's a novelty for him to have a friend that can drop in for coffee etc.
Speaking of the friend's OH she asked for my ginger cake recipe (through her OH to my DH) after DH's friend tried some yesterday. Is it petty of me that I didn't want to give her it? 😂 I did of course but I felt a bit sulky about it as it's a recipe that took me years to get right and she doesn't even like me. 😂 I feel very unappreciated as DH just laughed at me.
Noticed today that my multivitamins were running low and went to order more and they were on offer so got a year's supply for £22 instead of £48. 😀 I have also ordered some collagen powder to try as it's apparently good for joints as well as skin, hair and nails. I still have a sore hip and can't seem to shift it so maybe it will help. 🤷♀️ There seems to be a lot of debate over how useful it is but it's worth a try.
DH & I are going to start going swimming every week, a monthly pass is £18.99 each so we need to go at least once a week to break even. DH has been talking about starting to swim again for fitness for months but not done anything about it. So I said I'd go with him, it's not like I couldn't do with the exercise and hopefully it will encourage him to go on his own as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
