Thanks SA, we will definitely need to save a lot more and pay off at least a few of the debts before a holiday might be affordable. Hopefully we can manage a short break in the UK at least as the kids would love it.
Have been working and also had a 3 day hangover after picking DH up after work the other night, his friend came home with us and we ended up having a few too many drinks. I was sick and DH's friend was so drunk we had to put him to bed in our spare room. 👀 Oh and we also stayed up until 6am so I had 4 hours sleep and had to go to work later that day. No wonder I was ill for 3 days, I really need to stop drinking cocktails. 😢 DH's friend was mortified that he got so drunk but it's actually DH's fault, alcohol doesn't seem to affect him much so he can mix drinks and keep drinking and doesn't realise everyone else has fallen off the cliff. 😂
Am now off until Friday so hopefully can get the house cleaned again and everything half decent. DH & I are taking the kids over to his friend's house at the weekend for homemade pizzas and to meet his kids (from previous marriage) and (current) OH. I kind of feel like the OH is already p****ed off with us as the friend got so drunk at our house and stayed over. DH sent her a text to let her know and she never replied, even later that day. His friend said her phone has been playing up but I think she was raging. 👀
I'm already very apprehensive about meeting the OH as although I get on well with all of DH's friends, none of their wives seem to like me apart from one! And these are all separate friends whose wives don't know each other. 😢 One wife is very difficult to read so I'm never sure how she actually feels, one has refused to ever meet me 🤷♀️ and another will chat away to me when we (rarely) meet but isn't interested in meeting up as a couple. I'm starting to feel like it's me that's the problem and it makes me feel really down and I'm really worrying about meeting this woman now, especially after drunkgate. 😟
DH and I don't have any couple friends to do things with and it would nice to have that so I think that's why I'm even more worried about the OH hating me on sight. 😂 Both DH & I get on so well with his friend, it would be nice if his OH was the same with us both too.
Hopefully I'm just being paranoid, I do have female friends and generally get on well with other women once my initial shyness wears off (usually seen as being standoffish and have a resting b!tch face as well which doesn't help). Just had quite a few bad experiences with wives and OH's not liking me and then it inevitably affects DH's friendship as the wife/OH doesn't want her DH hanging out with DH as much (or at all). I don't know if this is something everyone experiences but it's just a bit rubbish really as we'd like another couple to go out with now and again.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I've experienced it a few times and got used to just brushing it off now. It was mostly when living on the army camp where I didn't fit in. I went to work every day and that was unusual for a wife and so I never interacted with any of the clubs and would be ignored. I guess I got so used to it that it doesn't bother me now. I have my friends and I'm fine with that. I can understand why you'd like to have a couple you could go out with.
I've noticed that my tolerance for hangovers has got so much worse as I've got older.

I doubt it's you, you come across perfectly lovely on here. It's always hard when you are a bit shy, but you might find that they are feeling the same way as you (i.e. thinking you don't like them). I hope it goes well and just try and go with an open mind.

Thanks guys, I'm already a natural worrier plus then having had quite a few not so great experiences meeting other halves of DH's friends I'm feeling quite anxious about it. DH has admitted to feeling a bit worried too but you would never know it as he's very good at talking to people and most people like him. I tend to hang back a bit to assess the situation. 😂 I probably won't get a chance to have a full conversation anyway as the kids will be constantly butting in and/or trying to kill themselves. 🤦♀️
DH's friend seems very confident that I'll get on with his OH but I'm not sure how reassuring that is as most men seem a bit oblivious to all the social politics that go on with women. 😂 I just hope it goes well and will try not to be too weird. 😂 DH is making a chocolate cheesecake and I'm making a chocolate orange rocky road to take with us so hopefully that will break the ice a bit too.
Have managed to tidy up most of the back garden today, mainly just weeding as they have exploded with the rain and sun combo. Also cleaned all the downstairs floors and have stripped and re-made all the beds. First set of bedding already dried and put away and the kids sheets are out on the line now. Another washing is in the machine and will finish soon so should get that out too, I chucked all the kids new polo shirts in for school and nursery so will get the name stickers on them once they're dry.
Have been keeping up with daily yoga and physio exercises for my core and am feeling much better for it along with the intermittent fasting. I do need to start eating more fruit and vegetables as my diet isn't great. Weight stayed the same this week but at least I didn't gain any weight after all the eating to recover from my terrible hangover.
I'm trying out nail wraps just now as I can't keep nail polish on, it just chips within hours. I've had to replace 3 wraps and re-stick another down since Sunday. If they last me a week I'll be happy to be honest as I'm so rubbish with nails but I want them to look nice, I have ordered some cuticle oil as well to strengthen them too.
Pic of my current wraps below, first attempt so not very neat around the edges. 😂 Hopefully I'll do a better job on my next set.

Love the nails, they look fabulous 😊 I get fed up of nail varnish chipping so I have gel colour on mine (at the moment until I get fed up of it that is!). It's not cheap but I pay for it out of survey money. It seems to help strengthen my nails too. During the pandemic I dabbled with doing my own gel and bought the lamp etc but I'm so impatient it didn't last very long, although I should persevere and practice more I suppose.
Hope it goes well at the weekend.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
