Thanks all, the cake was very tasty, DH is very handy in the kitchen. 🙂

Tiredness is catching up with me after working 4 out of 5 days. The kids come in about 7am every morning as well so I’ve been up early and working late.

Today I got 2 washings done and hung out, 1 from yesterday put away and clean sheets on the kids beds. Also gave the bathrooms a wipe down and gave the downstairs a quick hoover.

My robot vacuum is playing up, I think he might need a new battery. Can’t believe how much I miss being able to set him going while I’m doing other things.

Tomorrow I need to hoover the couches and give the kitchen worktops & sink a good clean.

The garden could do with a tidy as well, my raspberries are very messy and the net needs repositioned. DH needs to cut the grass and give the hedge a trim. I did a quick bit of weeding in the front garden last week but it’s still a bit wild out there.

I have lots of jalapeños, sweet peppers & tomatoes in the greenhouse along with my mini cucumbers. Just waiting on the peppers & tomatoes gaining a bit of colour as they’re all still green.

Money wise we have taken our eye off the ball a bit and spent a bit more than we’d like this month but it’s not a disaster and we’re not back in the overdraft.

Just need to start being more careful again and focus on getting rid of the debt. It’s hard to balance that with having fun but it’s the “we work hard, we deserve it” attitude that helped us build up part of the debt in the first place so we need to be more mindful of it.

    That cake looks amazing!

Getting rid of my overdraft totally was the most freeing thing I've done I think financially.  I don't even have a small buffer.  It's a nice feeling knowing that what's available is all mine, and I don't have the temptation to overspend.

    Agree with jwil.
I used to have uncomfortable conversations with my bank manager about this back in the day.

Thanks guys, we just haven’t let go of the false security of the overdraft yet. We’re getting there though so hopefully we’ll get rid of it completely at some point.

We’re looking into going on holiday next year but it all depends on prices. We haven’t been away on holiday since before having DS who is now 6 so it would be really nice to get away.

We would all need passports, DH & I have expired ones and the kids don’t have any at all. So that would be extra expense as well.

I’m working early shifts now so feeling really tired, never sleep well.

Have managed to get quite a few washings hung out on the line the last few days which has been helpful.

We took the kids swimming the other day which they loved and also went to see my brother’s new house. DH decluttered a desk he didn’t need by giving it to my brother as well.

I think my robot vacuum needs a new battery but it costs £50/60 so might not be able to get one this month. 🤔
