  • You might already know about this but calpol do a vapour plug in that you can buy refills for, I've found it to be a godsend for helping my 2 to sleep when they have blocked noses, used it myself on more than 1 occasion 🤣
  • Vicks do something similar. I’ve used it too!

My  18 year old House Troll was always the same with a cold when he was small. He took a blocked nose as a real personal affront.  He's never figured out how to blow his nose either. Neither has my 28 year old niece so like sensory issues it obviously runs in our family. I used to give him some olbas oil on a tissue to sniff if his nose was blocked.

Thanks all, I used to use the calpol vapour plug in with DS, don’t know why I didn’t think of it for DD. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s missing in action so will buy a new one.

Cranky, DD is totally outraged by her nose daring to be blocked. 😂 I found some snuffle babe vapour oil in the bathroom cabinet so have put a few drops on a cotton wool pad and put it on DD’s radiator to see if that helps for tonight.

I have paid £20 of survey money received off the smallest CC balance taking it to £1600. As £20 is the current minimum payment every extra £20 I can pay off is one less month it will be hanging around.

I do have some more survey money but hanging onto it for now to use towards DH’s birthday. Anything not spent can go towards the CC.

Just cashed out on OP so will get that £25 next month and am currently 36 points off cashing out on youg0v. Should be able to make some nice overpayments to the CC next month. 👍🏻

We tried out some new recycled paper cat litter as it’s impossible to find wood pellets anywhere atm. The paper stuff seems ok & the cats will use it so I’ve ordered 2 more bags. As I had a voucher & got a 10% discount it only came to £11.60 for both.

Will need to order more cat food in the next week or so as well.

DH off out to the pub with his friend, he’s on strict instructions to use his own money, no tapping of the CC!

Thanks Beanie, she woke up crying again around midnight so had to take her into bed with us again. She went back into her own bed at 2am and slept until 7 when DS got her up again and they both came bounding in shouting "Wake up mummy, it's time to get up" etc and jumping on my head. 😢

DH came home from the pub about half 9 with his friend in tow and they got a takeaway and had some more drinks. He got to bed at 2am so got the job of moving DD back to her own bed. He's working late shift today so is still in his bed.

DD decided to go goth whilst I was hanging up washing and coloured her lips in black with her felt tip pen. 😂 She was very proud of herself when she showed me, just glad I bought proper crayola washable pens. 🤦‍♀️ 😂

I've washed some dishes, put the dishwasher on as it was also full and put one washing away and hung another up. Will have the big nappy wash on next - not that it's that big these days as only the wipes & 2 cloth nappies a day now but I also stick the cleaning cloths etc in as it's a 60C wash and the nappies etc are prewashed to rinse them before the big wash anyway. Still hoping DD will use the toilet any time soon.

Tomorrow I need to collect my online order of school shorts for DS & polo shirts and socks for DD. Will need some baby wipes for DD's nursery bag so will also get those whilst I'm there. Might try and do a small shop if I can get DH to help me do a quick meal plan and then we won't need to get a shopping delivery. 🤔

Going to go for a shower shortly then look through the kids clothes, DS has already agreed that 2 shirts are too small so I can sell or charity shop them but wanted to keep another 2 and a jumper which I also suspect are too small. 🤷‍♀️ DD still at an age where I can remove clothes without her noticing unless they are her very favourites.

Charity bag collection is on Tuesday so have a bit of time to get things sorted.

😊 Thanks Dancing, I need to do things when I get the notion or it doesn’t happen.

Found a few things of DD’s for the charity bag but still need to go through her socks. Any too small socks in decent condition can go to nursery as they always need spares.

I chopped up & roasted an aubergine before it went off but found quite a few tomatoes, celery and lettuce I’d forgotten about so they had to go in the food bin. 😕

Whilst the oven was on I made a gingerbread cake, completely out of ground ginger now. I have some ready made icing leftover from the Christmas cakes so can use that to top it.

Also made up some jelly for the kids snacks and got that in the fridge.

Sewed up some holes in DD’s nursery leggings but didn’t do a very neat job. 😂 I think I need some patches to disguise the rubbish repairs.

Got the charity bag out yesterday so one big bag gone from the house. 🎉 I still need to go through my own clothes again though as there's so much I don't wear. I find it hard though as then think "what if I get rid of it then I need it" but realistically I know it probably won't happen.

I have handed some of DD's old socks into nursery along with some disposable nappies that don't suit her, they seem to make her itchy but thought they might do for nursery. The teachers have mentioned that they sometimes run out of nappies and wipes. Most kids are sent in with them in their backpacks but of course sometimes people forget or don't send them in.

I picked up my order for the kids school stuff, one of the ankle socks for DD had the lace completely coming off so I complained to Mr A via whats@pp! They are refunding me £3.50 which was the price for the full 5 pairs so that's a win. 😊 Hopefully I can stitch the lace back on too. The school shorts for DS look to be around knee length on him but he refuses to try them on! I might order the size up to see if they are any longer.

DH & I did our weekly food shop in Mr A since we were collecting the online order and used the handheld scanner. It was quite good as it adds it up for you as you go along, DH got quite competitive and wanted to get it under £60 which we managed by 36p. 😂

DS has completed his foundation level swimming so can now move up a class, DH & I need to look at the available class times and choose which one to move him to. Just now he goes on a Monday at 4pm which is a bit of a rush after school so it will be good to have a slightly later class. There are weekend classes but we don't really want to go for those as one of us is usually working anyway. He has 2 pre-paid lessons left so we will need to pay for the next 10 week block soon as well.

The kids asked for an indoor picnic last night for dinner so I had to get a blanket out on the floor. 😂 I cut up some grapes, apple and cucumber then gave them some sausages, chips and coleslaw. They had iced ginger cake and jelly afterwards and were very happy. 😊 They scoffed all the fruit and veg which was a win too.

So far today I've put some washing away and hung one lot up. I need to do some yoga then hoover the stairs and do a bit more cleaning or decluttering if I can face it.
