Managed day 6 of yoga today, I’m going to have sore abs tomorrow. 😭 My core strength is still rubbish after having the kids and is something I need to work on.
I cleaned all the bathrooms and the bathroom floors today and hung one washing up and put another away.
Made carrot & coriander soup and also did some more sewing repairs. This time it was DD’s cloth night nappies, they really are falling to bits after 3 years of use. I just need them to last another 6 months and hopefully DD will be out of nappies.
DH made pizza dough for Saturday, whatever recipe he uses has a room temp prove then a cold prove so needs a bit more time.
Back at work tomorrow & Saturday on early shifts, not looking forward to 5am alarms. Doubt I’ll get any yoga done as will be at work when the kids are out of the house so no peace to do it.
SA I was thinking of making a cake for DH & hopefully will get some survey money through to buy something small.
Bluegreen, I have gotten rid of a lot of the cards and will work through them again. Sometimes I just need to keep things for a while to then realise I really don’t need to keep them if you see what I mean. 🤔
I would say I’ll keep things for crafts but I would never get round to it and it would just sit there and become clutter. @sashybo yes, the clutter thing is a risk. I keep the plastic bags with old cards with the kids’ other art/craft supplies and they are allowed to cut them up and use them whenever, I don’t necessarily keep them for card making.I know exactly what you mean about decluttering, I find the same, that every area needs several passes through because I need to come back to certain things.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Have had a busy weekend at work and had our nieces staying over on Saturday night. We made spicy chicken, margarita, pepperoni & ham & pineapple pizzas with the girls helping. They also made brookies which are a combination of brownies & cookies. They were very nice. 😊
The girls were very patient with the kids and seemed to have a good time. We also played overcooked on the PlayStation as it’s multiplayer and we could all play together.
We just had a chilled out Sunday which I think we all needed.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
The kids were happy this morning and went into school & nursery with no problem.I managed day 7 of yoga today (finally) after dropping them off and it wasn’t too bad.
Have brushed & hoovered the couches, wiped the sinks & toilets, put one washing away & hung another one up, stripped my bed and washed the sheets and have them in the TD.DH cleaned the floors downstairs and did a bit of tidying in his room.
We used up some quesadillas from the freezer for lunch. Our spending CC statement closed yesterday, runs mid month - to mid month and we spent a lot less than normal which is good. Our food spends are around £470 so about what I thought. Looking to try & reduce this by planning a bit more & spending less on top up shopping.
DD is super grumpy because she’s tired, apparently I’m not allowed to put my feet on the couch near her & the blanket I’m using is hers so I’m not allowed to touch it. 🙄Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Got quite a few annoying jobs done yesterday like washing, drying & putting away the Christmas table runner instead of walking past it/moving it to another area. It didn’t take that long!
Also finally washed the indoor door mats and put clean ones down. Got 3 other washings done, 2 dried & put away, 1 still hanging up but will put it away later.
DH & I both out to work before 6am this morning so my mum stayed over and took the kids to school/nursery. They walked down as my mum doesn’t drive. We will all be doing the same tomorrow then I’m off work for a week. Hoping to get stuck into the housework & sorting out the kids clothes (again!). Might be able to get them on v!nted.
Have ordered some school shorts for DS incase we have a nice spell of weather at some point. Got them now as if I wait they’ll sell out when the weather gets warmer. Hopefully the length will be ok as I had to order age 4-5 due to DS’s tiny waist. The waists are adjustable but he is still on the second tightest setting in his age 4-5 school trousers! They are longer length though so not too short as they would otherwise have been.
I also ordered some new polo shirts & white frilly ankle socks for DD. She has tomato stains on every collar of every polo shirt! I can’t get them out. 😩
Got some age 4-5 summer school dresses on v!nted for DD for nursery as well. Bigger size necessary for the length as I think 3-4 will be too short for her by summer. Got some age 4-5 vests as well because her 3-4 ones are getting a bit short in the body already. 😩
Just going to get the kids then will get a washing on and try to convince DS to do some homework. 😖Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.1 -
Having a lazy day today as it's the first (& last) day I'll have time to myself for ages. My car windscreen has been iced up on both the outside and inside the last two mornings. 😩 So that's been fun.
Have got one washing hanging up, another put away and the small nappy pre-wash done. Also marinated chicken for butter chicken later which DH is going to make after work, I'll do some flatbreads to go with it.
Used up some leftover Thai fishcakes for my lunch which were very tasty. DH made them a couple of days ago and didn't want them to go to waste.
Also given the sinks and toilets a wipe but that's it on the cleaning front so far. May try a bit more later but feel more inclined to lie on the couch with Old Cat and a blanket, much more appealing. 😂
Have had someone complaining on v!nted that the nappy they bought wasn't new and trying to say there was a mark that "looked like faeces". 🤨 There absolutely wasn't any marks on the nappy as I obviously washed it before selling and had "good used condition" in the description. Someone who didn't read it obviously. 🙄
This is over a week after it was delivered, buyer said everything was ok and I have been paid through v!nted. Haven't had a reply from them since I replied saying no marks and yes in the description it says used. I have sold quite a few cloth nappies on there and never had a problem until now. Just hope they accept they didn't read the info and it was their own error as I don't want my account closed. The secondhand cloth nappy market is huge and loads of people sell on v!nted despite them saying you're not meant to. 👀

This is what puts me off selling on these sites. I used to put a lot of things on eBay but sometimes it’s too much hassle for the amount you end up with.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I tried to sell a vintage burberry duffle coat on vinted recently.
Never again.

Yes SA & Beanie it really feels like more hassle than it's worth sometimes especially for a couple of quid! I'm going to go through the stuff I have on there and anything that's been on for more than 3 months/not likely to sell can go in the charity bag.
There's another charity bag collection next week, I already have one full bag to go so need to go through the kids stuff and see if anything is too small and can be sold on or if it's better off going for rags in the charity bag.
I like selling things on as it's good to know they are being used again but sometimes it's just not worth it with the hassle with people asking silly questions/giving silly low offers and then the chancers who try to claim something wasn't as described. Still haven't heard back from the nappy complainer. 🙄 Still feel slightly offended that someone would think I would sell a dirty nappy. 🤢
DD was crying about midnight because she has a cold, having a blocked up nose makes her really angry and I can't get her to understand how to blow her nose. 🤦♀️ She also hates any sort of vapour rub and gets violent when I put it on. Ended up taking her in with us and she slept for an hour then asked to go back to her own bed (by screeching & thumping us until we woke up). Then both kids burst in on me at 8am wanting to get up and have breakfast. DH was already away to work so I got them dressed and gave them breakfast then did a few surveys. Have got the nappy pre wash on and need to hang up another washing and put yesterday's away.
DH & I used up the rest of the greek yoghurt & crème fraiche making butter chicken and flatbreads last night. We're quite bad for letting yoghurty things go out of date and having to chuck away full or half pull pots. 😱 So now need to remember to check them and even just make flatbreads and freeze them as the kids love them.
Now into our next period of food shopping, have spent around £75 this week so not too bad. DH has been taking more food to work as he knows he needs to use his allowance money otherwise and doesn't want to! But somehow tapping the CC didn't register as spending money. DH definitely better with helping to meal plan as he does a lot of the cooking when he's not working late shifts.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
