You’ve made me laugh with your tales of DS 😆 He has very sophisticated tastes for one so young 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Hi all, thanks for popping in, I've been on early shifts again so have been going to bed earlier than usual and I'm still knackered. Knackered is a word that always makes me laugh because my mum used to tell me it wasn't a nice word and I wasn't to say it when I was wee. 😂 I don't know why she thought it sounded bad but then she also told me "bloody" was a swear word in my teens. 🤷♀️ 😂
Honeysuckle, I still haven't gotten around to sowing any sweet peas as I still haven't bought compost. 🤦♀️ Really need to do that soon and get a move on.
Beanie, DS also shouts down the stairs at bedtime to old cat to "Shut up!" when he's miaowing for his dinner. 😱 I said it once! And now DS does it all the time! 🤦♀️ Old cat is Siamese so he has a very loud and annoying miaow when he wants something. 😂
SA & Nicnak, yes DS loves olives! He really likes strong flavours and eats things that I wouldn't expect him to. I always say "oh you won't like this" whenever he wants something I'm eating, then he tries it and likes it. 😂
It was DH's birthday at the start of the week so DS was very excited about presents and cake. I think he thought the presents were for him so he was a bit disappointed but the cake made up for it. 😊 He sang happy birthday but kept singing it to his sister instead of his daddy and has been insisting it's DD's birthday all week. 😆
Payday today so have used the council tax money that isn't paid this month to pay £260 off the lowest balance BT CC. It's now down to £200 so should be paid off in the next couple of months. 👏
Trying not to spend too much this month as DH took his car for the MOT & service and it ended up costing over £400 plus it needs to go back again next week for more repair work and that will likely be another £300. 😭 We only have £45 in the car account as DH kept taking money out of it back into the current account when we were really badly into the O/D. So that will all have to go on a CC, feels like we're going round in circles with debt again. 😢Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.1 -
Well done on paying the council tax money off the CC, it'll give you a boost to get that paid off in a couple of months.
Boo to the car costs though 😔
You'll get there with the remaining debt, life happens sometimes and the debt balance you have now are due to planned expenditure to help with both short and long term family life and sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go for it.
Keep going! X1 -

It's great when you can pay things off. Bless your DS thinking it's DDs birthday xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi all, thanks for stopping by and your encouragement.
We had to BT £800 on to my CC for the car costs so it's gone back up to £1000 from £200. 😭 At least it's 0% and I have already paid off the £15 transfer fee. I sold another nappy bundle so put most of the money from that towards it.
I had a bit of a slump at the start of the week and was just feeling so fed up and like I was never going to get anything done. The next day was a bit better as we took the kids out in the snow at the park and then I got quite a lot done at home.
I did a few washings, hoovered, made a slow cooker chilli, bread in the bread maker and a coconut loaf cake with DS's help. The coconut loaf cake is good to do with him as everything is measured in a mug. He poured each mugful into the bowl and stirred it all together.
I have managed to claim £10 in vouchers from SB and £10 from another survey site, so can pay a bit more off the CC soon. The vouchers went towards a birthday present for my friend's wee girl and a wee sticker book for her son and meant I only had to pay £5 for the full order.
DS has continued to be hard work, kicking off big time at the moment and generally being difficult. He got very angry with me the other day when I showed him a photo of a robin and said it was a bird - he was very insistent it wasn't a bird! 🙄 He would argue that black is white just now I think.
Both DH & I are working over the weekend so my mum is helping us out by watching the kids. DS was a nightmare for her yesterday, several tantrums and told her to give his dinner to the cats because he didn't want it! 🤦♀️ Hopefully he behaves better for her today.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
