Hi all, thanks for popping in.

Jan, I feel like I'm so behind with the garden already! I'm hoping to get the early potatoes planted this week and sow the cucumber seeds. I managed to sow the tomatoes and repot around half of my flower seedlings but still have most of the lobelia and petunias to do.

Thanks Beanie, I think DS is lovely but of course I'm biased. 😂

Hi Scott, nice to see you. 👋

Nicnak, I have my giant sunflower seeds but haven't sown them yet. I only have two red sunflower seedlings so far.

I have annual leave from work this week so get out of two late shifts at the weekend. I really need to try and get some things sorted in the house but have no motivation atm. I need to go through the huge pile of coats in the walk-in cupboard downstairs, it's getting out control in there. 😱

I bought myself a new trespass coat as my current down one has started wearing away at the seams and is leaking feathers - I've had it for near enough 10 years so think it's done its job well. I can still keep it for the cold weather gardening and the new coat was reduced with an extra 10% discount on top. Hopefully it will last as long as the old one! It isn't down but hopefully it will be as warm.

I managed to go through DH's drawer and get rid of loads of socks he never wears and have also thinned out the amount of pjs in my drawer. I've also cleared out some of the kids clothes that were too small.

Oh I forgot to mention that my kettle was making a funny noise when it was plugged in but not switched on. I was a bit worried that it was going to explode or something so I ordered another one online. I had vouchers from surveys so it only cost £5 in "real" money. 😀

We have also had quite a few nice days so I have managed to get several washings out on the line and dried which saves uses the tumble drier. 👍

Hi Sashy- just to say I copied you and bought the pyjamas which were a good find!  Thank you for posting about them.  They`re beautifully made as well.  Where did you come across this company - I`d not heard of them before..x

Hi jan, they are nice aren't they? I seem to be between sizes for the pj top which is a shame - one size is a bit neat (but still wearable) and the size up is huge! I think I heard about the company on one of the beauty groups I'm a member of on fakebook.

I still haven't sorted out the coats in the downstairs cupboard, all I've done this week is repotting seedlings and sowing seeds. I still haven't got the seed potatoes planted either. I managed to do some cleaning and lots of washing but that's about it.

Hi Sashy- I had to send mine back :(
Just as you said- the top was snug and the trousers were too wide.  But I loved the fabric and the design.  Shame!

Hi jan, yes the sizing is odd which is a shame. I had the large size at first as I like looser things for bed (apparently size 14-16) which was huge in the pj top and very long on the arms and the trousers were giant at the waist and too long in length. I had to roll the waistband over twice to get them to a reasonable length and they were falling down from my waist.

DH then got me the medium which is much better in the trousers & fits well (I'm a standard UK 14) but a bit neat in the pj top (I'm usually a size 12) - the sleeves could be a bit longer and it could be a bit longer in the body in general - I can wear it but it's not the best fit and has put me off buying more. 😔 As you say the fabric is lovely. I wonder their other things are as oddly sized. 🤔

Got out into the garden yesterday and got the arran pilot seed potatoes into their bags. DD looked like she'd had a mud bath by the time we went in as the grass was so wet and muddy and she still falls over a lot. 😂 Luckily both kids were in their puddle suits and wellies so just a case of stripping them in the (cupboard sized) utility room and chucking the puddle suits in the washing machine.

Today I repotted two of the African violets I grew from cuttings and an aloe vera that I had gotten from the one I bought a while ago. Those horrible little flies were back again in those three plants for some reason but not in any others that I've seen. Hopefully changing the compost and pots completely has got rid of them. 😠 I also repotted some wasabi rocket seedlings and the mystery flower plant that DS brought back from nursery as a seed in a plastic cup as my mother's day present. 😊 It's growing well so far.

My mum came up to visit the kids yesterday afternoon and brought some stuff to make a dahl curry for dinner. It was really tasty, we all liked it so I have stolen the recipe from her. I made indian rice to go with it and we had cheats chapatis - just dry frying tortilla wraps to make them a bit crispy.  She got the recipe from her hello fresh subscription, we are trying it as we get the first box free. I'll need to remember to cancel it after that and/or downgrade it a bit as it's something like £45 a week for the family box of 3 meals for 4 people.

Hi all, I have been rubbish at updating again, I keep meaning to then get distracted. I was also on early shift for 3 days at the start of the week, 5am alarms do not agree with me. DH was quite grumpy as it was his long weekend off work and he had the kids for 3 out of the 5 days. At least when he has them for long stretches alone he understands why I lose my s**t with them at times. 😂

DS isn't back at nursery for another 11 days! 😱 He really misses the interaction with the other kids & I miss my wee window of peace in the afternoons! I'm taking him to see my mum tomorrow to distract him a bit.

I think it will be a bit weird for him going to my mum's though as she had to have her dog pts last week 😞 and he hasn't been there since. I think DS will probably ask to see the dog. He asked me last week if we were going to see gran, her dog & cat and I told him he wouldn't see the dog because he had to go to doggy heaven because he was old and not well. DS looked kind of puzzled and said "It's not fair!" but I don't think he really understood. 😞

In bargain news I managed to get DS new swimming shorts & normal shorts for £2.50 each from my local M&S outlet shop. 🎉 Such a shame it's closing down in the next couple of months, they are moving the shop from the high st to a retail park and turning it into a food only shop. 😖

I was good and finally did a bit of yoga after getting the kids to bed tonight, it was only 15 mins but it's a start. I tried a different instructor on utube, it was Yoga with Kassandra, she is doing a 30 day challenge of 15 min bedtime yoga videos so I'm going to give it a go. I noticed that she has a 30 day morning yoga series as well so might try that next.

My Christmas savings aren't doing too great, just got over £100 in there now. I'll need to try and do more surveys. Speaking of which I did a diary type survey in January over a week for £20 and have been waiting ages for the payment only for the survey company to turn round and say I didn't complete the diary so they're not paying me!! 😠 😠 Absolutely raging as I did complete it - the survey company have been putting me off for months saying their "client" was going through the data etc and the payments would be sent out "soon". Now apparently the "client" has decided I didn't complete it after all. 🤔 I think this company might be getting ditched once I reach my next payout, currently half way.

And I'm also having problems with OP - well there's been nothing but problems since they moved their website. Their app hasn't worked since and now I can't access the surveys on my phone at all! Really irritating as they are short surveys that are only 10/15p and only appear for a short period of time so if you can't access on our phone when you're out then you miss out on lots of surveys during the day. 😠

Hi- not surprised you cant post regularly with your demanding schedule and two kids.  Just to let you know I got my refund today from Their Nibs so that`s a relief.  It`s sad about your Mum`s dog and it must be so tricky to explain that to your DS.

    Well done on the bargains.

I am only now ` allowed` to go out so need to adjust to the new freedom!

Another one here not surprised you don’t have much free time to post. Sorry to hear about your mum’s dog. When my kids were little their gran’s dog died while we were on holiday. We didn’t tell them as we knew they’d be upset. It was awful on the journey home when DD said she was looking forward to seeing him and we had to break the news to her.
