My DS was such a little so and so when he was a toddler. Used to drive me nuts. He was fine from around 3 until 15 then don’t ask for a few years 🤣😩😱👎 It was Postman Pat with him. Postman Pat and his black and white cat 🎶 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

😂 Beanie and SA, children's tv is annoying! DS is currently switching between bin lorry videos 🙄, Waffle blinking doggy 😣 and Shrek 3 (which I quite enjoy despite watching it on a daily basis for the last 2 weeks).
Had a pretty rough day yesterday with DS being really hard work and I just wanted to run away. Went to bed feeling crap and like a terrible mum because he doesn't listen to a word I say and I just feel like I'm shouting all the time. I really want to try the gentle parenting approach but feel like I just don't have the temperament for it and then worry that I'm messing him up when I lose my temper. 😔
Today was a bit better but DS keeps going for DD at random times and trying to scratch her eyes or poke his fingers in them. 😱 Yesterday he was pushing his thumbs into her eyes when I turned my back for 30 seconds. 😱 So now I can't leave DD alone with him even for 5 seconds. ☹️ I don't know why he's all of a sudden gotten so violent towards her, he pulls her hand so hard sometimes and squeezes her fingers until she cries as well. ☹️ Then other times he's kissing and cuddling her.
I woke up really late today (after 9) and DH was still sleeping, so of course the kids were still in their beds making a racket and must have been starving. It really annoys me that I can never sleep in because DH won't get up with the kids. 😡
I know I moaned about it before but nothing changes. DH says he'll get up with them but never does. He just complains about how tired he is - doesn't really apply atm as although he's working he's not working anywhere near his usual shifts, much shorter length etc. Just really irritates me and he just ignores me and says I'm moaning. 😡

Oh I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so fed up (((hugs))).
It's totally understandable though, everything involved with parenting the little ones can feel relentless at the best of times, more so at the moment when there's no respite and nowhere to escape due to the current restrictions.
My DH has a convenient deafness when the children wake up too, but I'm a more natural early riser so luckily, on the whole, it works
out.
When I feel utterly exhausted though I tell him he's on the early shift with the kids and may or may not set 2 or 3 alarms on his phone with slightly increasing passive aggressive titles the longer he ignores them 😳🤣 even if I then can't get back to sleep I make a point of ignoring what's going on downstairs and make myself a nice cuppa, put my headphones in and listen to music and generally refuse to do anything other than be in my own little universe for a few hours.
Take care, tomorrow is a new day & don't be so hard on yourself, the fact you're beating yourself up so much shows what a loving mother/woman you are xx2 -
Oh and what is it with toddler boys being so into watching bin wagons? Count yourself lucky, my DS1 got hooked on some American bin wagon programmes when he was 2 and still refers to them as garbage trucks 🤦2

Thanks Dancing & Beanie, I've had a much better day today, although DS has still been playing up a bit. He was much better overall though, so less stressful but he did rip a leaf off my rhubarb crown which only has 3 leaves total. 😭
I just kept him away from DD and told him he wasn't allowed to touch her if he wasn't going to be gentle. He did still manage to get a few swipes in though on her face. ☹️ Later on he was actually trying to be gentle with her but I doubt that will last, he's been so aggressive with her and the cats as well. The cats just run away when they see him but even if DD could run away she probably wouldn't as she adores her big brother. Poor wee girl.
He did pick up his toys today with minimal effort on my part though, a lot better than he's ever been before. I think I must have caught him at a good time i.e. not too tired or hungry, so will see what happens tomorrow.
Managed to get 2 washings hung out and dried, plus a nappy wash so that was good too. The garden is looking pretty good, definitely need to get the netting over the gooseberries though before the birds start stealing them as they are getting bigger now.
Got £20 through from PA, £11 through from £co, £10 from another survey company and £9 from another, so was able to pay another £50 off some of our debts. I'm waiting on the payment for a ten day forum I did and also another £20 from another survey company, so should have more to pay towards the debts soon. 🥳Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks guys, the last two days haven't been too bad either, still having some frustrations with DS but nothing too extreme. He has been really good at helping to tidy up his toys and doing it without all the screaming and crying. 😀
I've been trying to stay calm with him and just give him cuddles (if he lets me) when he's angry and acting out or crying hysterically as he tends to do at random times. He does seem to calm down quicker with this approach but obviously I'm still working on it. I had been using the naughty step but it really hasn't worked with him at all, so need to work on a replacement for that.
He has still been hitting DD but less so and has stopped trying to claw her eyes out, thankfully.
I've also started getting DS washed/into his pjs when I take DD up to bed so that I can get him settled earlier. He's quite happy to watch his trucks on my ipad in his room whilst I sort DD out. I think the extra sleep is doing him good, as he's been less sleepy and grumpy in the afternoons and therefore less likely to kick off. 😊 DH was at home tonight so he settled DD whilst I dealt with DS, we had both of them in bed for 7pm. 🥳
Last night I finally sorted out DS's baby cards and birthday cards from his 1st and 2nd birthdays. I put punch holes in them and used ribbon to thread them together, so that they're kept in a book format. I also sorted out DD's baby cards in the same way and have put them all away safely.
Today I hoovered the living room and mopped the kitchen floor plus got two washings done. Tomorrow I need to do the big clean out of the cat litter and do the bathrooms.
I did half an hour of yoga before we got the kids up, which was nice. I was doing some the other day but DS crashed it and was alternately trying to lie on top of me and pushing me down. 🙄
DH and I are trying our best to cut down on our spending, especially on food, as we have been spending far too much. We need to meal plan more effectively and should be able to as DH is on annual leave for 2 weeks now, so it will be easier for us to organise the cooking.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
