Hi Beanie, thanks, the same to you.

We have asked our milkman to increase our milk delivery slightly (3 pints x3 a week rather than 2 pints) and have added on eggs once a week too. Not the cheapest option but it means we'll have some basics. We're okay for bread flour atm but will struggle to find any kind of flour once we run out.

DS is already asking to go out into the garden so I'll take him out after DD has finished her nap. Stripped the bed so hoping to hang the sheets out once the washing has finished. I have more cloth nappies being delivered today so will prewash those as well.

Thinking about growing rhubarb in the garden but we are prone to getting very waterlogged in the winter and have clay soil, so not sure if a rhubarb crown would do well. I wonder if slightly building up the bed I was thinking of using would help. 🤔

DH is making lasagne for dinner with the mince he got from the butcher's last week. Looking forward to that. We have a shopping delivery coming late afternoon, I think half of it will either be missing or substituted.

I feel so wiped out just now, getting sleep but don't think it's very restful sleep. My knees are aching and I have a niggly pain in my back that has reappeared after not having it for ages. ☹️ I think I need to do some yoga pretty pronto and see if that helps.

Aww poor DS will miss your Mum. Children adapt very quickly though, it's us adults that are going to find it hard!

Can you go for a walk anywhere but the garden or is it too hard with DS and DD? I used to be trapped at home apart from walks when my DC were tiny, because I had a double pushchair and a four year old so I couldn't get on buses without help 😱.

I hope your Mum will be okay. She will be wearing protective equipment I'm sure.

Children do adapt well, it’s us adults that don’t. Would your oldest do the Joe Wicks PE classes at 9am? I did it today and enjoyed it 👍

    Hi Hairy and SA. 👋

DS will be ok, fortunately he's too young to really understand what's going on anyway. He will definitely miss my mum though and going out in the car. He's more used to staying at home since DD was born anyway as I've found it hard to get out and about with them both.

I could go for a walk around our housing estate with the pram and DS on his reins but we live at the top of a steep hill and it's difficult to persuade DS to walk back up it without him having a meltdown and lying down screaming on the pavement. 😱 I don't fancy trying to carry him and push the pram up the big hill at the same time. 😱

However, I finally got DH to attach the buggy board our friends gave us (by ditching it and the pram in the middle of the kitchen so it was in his way and he finally got fed up and said he'd do it). DS might be willing to stand on that on the way back up the hill but might not ad he usually doesn't want to go home, so might still have a screaming meltdown. 🤔

SA, I'm not sure if DS would listen to the PE programme but it's worth a try. He has the attention span of a gnat and won't do anything he doesn't want to.

DS has been challenging today, not listening to a word I say and being really defiant or just plain ignoring me. 😡 He kicked me in the face when I was changing his nappy as he wasn't happy about it but I don't really think it was on purpose, he was just thrashing about indignantly. 🙄

He was also continually being rough with DD by grabbing her head and trying to turn her to look at him. I had a talk with him the other day about being gentle and how DD isn't a doll - now he just says "Not a doll" when I give him a row for being rough with her! 🤦‍♀️

He also pulled Big cat's tail a few times and Big cat finally snapped at him which DS just thought was funny. I gave him a row for it and told him he was hurting the cat then asked him how he would like it if I pulled his hair really hard. He just laughed in my face. 😖

I think I have a threenager on my hands now, just total defiance and not interested in what I was saying. He was the same with DH too though not quite as bad.

We got out into the garden and DS ran about for an hour and had a great time. I had the sheets out on the line as it was really bright and windy and he was running into and under them. I remember doing the same thing as a kid. 😂

Our shopping delivery was missing a lot of stuff like milk, eggs and cheese. 😱 DH was
talking to the delivery driver who was saying that all the food delivery vans are double manned for safety now. 😯

When DH went out to get the missing stuff he saw our twin nieces and one of our nephews waiting in the car outside the supermarket for my sister. They shouted and waved to each other from an appropriate distance. 😊

DH said there was a queue outside Mr M's, they were only letting a certain amount of people in at the same time but no queuing system outside Mr Al's. He said Mr Al's was mostly well stocked and not too busy which is good to hear, although they were still very low/wiped out of flour, pasta and tinned tomatoes. People were apparently keeping their distance from each other as well apart from a couple of older people who didn't seem bothered. 🤷‍♀️

I have ordered gypsum for my garden soil to break down the clay where I'm hoping to plant a rhubarb crown. Also talked to a DH about building that bit up so that it doesn't get flooded and rot the crown either.

So I have ordered a rhubarb crown, padron chilli seeds and crystal lemon cucumber seeds. The cucumbers look very interesting as they are round and yellow! Hoping I can get some of those seeds to germinate. 😀

Can't remember what else I wittered on about in the post I lost - serves me right for not copying it. 🙄

    Thanks Beanie. 😊

DS was better behaved today although still ignoring me at times when it suited him. 🙄 I had ordered some croc type shoes for him for the summer ages ago and they arrived this morning. He is very taken with them as they are yellow and look like wee bugs - they have eyes on the front and antennae. 😂 They're a touch too big so he was tripping over everything when he was running about indoors with them on.

Took him out into the garden for half an hour, it was bright but with drizzly rain showers. I moved a couple of small raspberry canes from the bed I want to use for the rhubarb and put them into gaps in the beds the other raspberries are in. The gypsum should arrive tomorrow so we can get it dug in probably on Friday at the latest unless there is torrential rain. Hoping it will have a few days to get to work on the clay before the rhubarb arrives.

Have done several washings today - DS had 3 (!) nappy leaks last night - first was a cloth nappy (I didn't put an absorbent enough insert it) and then 2 pull ups. DH got up and dealt with it though. I had to wash both of DS's waterproof mattress protectors plus sheets today. Fingers crossed he doesn't do that again tonight.

Both kids had a leak today with the cloth nappies - DS because I left it too long between changes and DD because I hadn't poppered it up tightly enough and there was a gap around her thigh that the pee escaped from. So several changes of outfit today for them both. I'm sure I'll get used to it, overall the cloth nappies have been really good so far and it's my errors that have led to leaks.

DH was back at work today and said it's like a ghost town again and he was home not long after I got the kids to bed as not much for him to do.
