Car Insurance Cancelled HELP

Take a bus? I didn't drive till 24. Many people survive Without a car."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

And if they did this after a claim then you face having to pay your own repairs and should a third party make a successful claim against you, then your insurer could come to you to reimburse them any costs they incur in paying a third party for repairs/injury/lost earnings etc!
To add to this, I personally know of a claim that's gone into the 7 figures in the last year. Add legal costs etc to this and you're looking (with the claim amount) at probably £2m.
Policy cancelled = you paying this out of pocket, which will affect you for the rest of your life.
And in that case (where no cancellation happened, but using it as an example) it would be completely immoral to go down the bankruptcy route, as someone relatively young was left in the position where they'll never be able to work again and will need care. This is what a bulk of that money is going to pay for.💙💛 💔0 -

Which is why when you make any application for insurance you have to agree that you have told the truth! (You are always asked about cancelled policies in your history)0 -

Still, a few more posts like that and you'll be able to post links. That's something we can all look forward to.0 -
To be fair csgohan4 - we don't know where the OP lives.
I suspect if they lived next to a Tube station - then the car would not be such a perceived vital need.
I am going to hazard a guess that their tenacity around needing a car and paying the original insurance (not cheap) infers that maybe they live somewhere more remote and don't have a bus route?I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -

I think it may be true that motor insurers on the Moon do not share data or have claims handlers with zero access to plentiful and sophisticated resources that check the insured was honest when they made their pre-purchase declarations.
Back here on planet earth - no sane person would take Moonchild10's advice or assume that it is only in traffic that you should drive only a little insanely.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

Thanks for all the help/replies guys.
I have called my insurance and
I asked if my cancellation information will be shared or put onto any databases.
She replied exactly this
'We do not share any of your information with other insurance companies'
However, it is only shared amongst the 'group' which is the RSA (Royal Sun Alliance) and its other partners. She also said that they do share information with the government if the information is needed, when will this information be needed?
Thanks.

It will be needed to update the MID, which in turn updates the police national computer I believe.
There are also things called Fraud Prevention Agencies, who the information may be passed to as a matter of course.
We are not going to tell you how to commit insurance fraud, as if I did, I would be committing a criminal offence.
If you have £500000 spare, you can lodge it as a deposit with the High Court, however be aware, as mentioned in my case above (which is a true story, just in case you're wondering), you may need a further £1.5+m down the line, in addition to the £500000 deposit which will be retained in this case, should you have an accident and leave a professional unable to work and needing care.
Declare it, see who comes back, and accept that you've been an idiot and pay it (if you can afford to). Noone will tell you any different here.💙💛 💔0 -
You really are not listening to the advice given here, are you. Whenever you obtain a quote for insurance in the future you will be asked "have you ever had insurance cancelled?". If you lie and say "no" you are committing insurance fraud. Regardless of what you have been told, your insurers do most definitely share information within the industry and with other agencies. You will be found out, that is a fact. Then not only will you have insurance cancelled for a second time, but you could also be charged with committing insurance fraud. If you have an accident whilst fraudulently insured your claim will be denied and you will be in serious trouble both legally and financially.
I am going to spell this out clearly and directly: I don't mean to offend you personally but you simply must understand how serious what you're proposing to do is. I hope that you will read it carefully and take it in:
You must accept that your actions have led to your insurance being cancelled because you are deemed too great a risk by your insurer. They do not do this lightly. It's time to accept that, grow up and understand that you simply MUST NOT lie to obtain insurance as you will be found out. The least bad outcome is that your insurance will be cancelled and you won't recover a penny, the worst that you cause damage, harm, injury or death whilst driving with invalid insurance and will be liable for potentially huge claims from those affected. If you want to add a criminal record for insurance fraud to your cancelled insurance you're going the right way about it. It is not a risk that you will be found out; it's simply a matter of when this will happen. Do you really want to live with that on your mind until that moment comes?0 -
I suspect the person you spoke to was more referring to your personal details (I.e. not selling you email address for advertising etc).
Don't be a di*k just to save a few quid. Find a proper Insurance Broker and coughup a hefty sum, if you are that desperate sell the car and get a bike.0
