Yes, I'm so happy to have received that :)

You are right Beanie - it is a fresh start and today has been good, though I didn't get the job application done. Fell asleep this afternoon after a lovely lunch out (free :D).

Tonight I'm just being and reminding myself of the things I am truly grateful for:

    1) A wonderful DS who is healthy, happy and doing well
    2) A home that is secure and warm
    3) Home-cooked hot foot on the table (chilli)
    4) Supportive and generous friends and family
    5) A head that is not over-running with negative thoughts or emotions

Being kind to myself is a good start and is free! :D

ZTD - very good points there. Key one is the new 30 hr job I don't have a start date for, so no job at the moment. I am unemployed

You claiming the appropriate benefits then?

:o The speeding was a stupid mindless moment - I'd taken a wrong turn in a new road layout and gone through the camera under the limit on a villagey type road. Turned around and followed another car and flash. Reading that back, I guess it could have been the car infront? Another wait and see.

Or it could just be having a senior moment. I was flashed by one once. It was late at night, I was in the only car on the road and I went past it at 35 mph and it went off. Only problem being, it was a 40 zone (I'm paranoid). I was so annoyed, but nothing landed through the post - I was going to give them hell...

:rotfl::o Oh to the dodgy hugs, they really are dodgy!! Made me laugh so that's a good thing!

Can't claim any benefits as was self-employed, something like 39 weeks wait minimum.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the speeding side of things and checking for post under the bed as the dog tends to pop it under there for me if I'm out :o

Tomorrow is a new day, there's lots on the To Do list so think I'll post that up in the morning and see how much I can achieve.

DS being prepped for school is done. New bag cost £14.99 today but was much needed.

Bedtime and sleep...one area I am not struggling in at the moment, but have been. Anxiety has been so bad in recent weeks I've had electric zap charge feelings in my head :( Really thought I was going mad for a couple of days. Thank goodness for guided meditations to calm me down.

    Hi Alex,

Lovely to 'see' you and thanks for posting too, I appreciate it immensely.

Today's list I think looks like:

    - Phone GP for emergency appointment - need a repeat prescription for an infection that won't shift

    - Move money to 'business' bank account and get ready to pay tax bill

    - Apply for job I saw yesterday

    - Book eyebrow thread. They need it! And a haircut for DS

    - Do new budget sheets for 2017 (I didn't get on with YNAB so old fashioned Excel works for me)

    - Move money/close accounts to bring everything to one account.

    - Speak to HMRC and sort SE business.

That will keep me busy for a while. I hope everyone has a good day and I'm aiming to keep positive.

Yay, glad to see you back, Ali! Like EE, I was imagining the sunset scenario for you, sorry to hear it hasn't worked out that way.

Best of luck with the job front, sounds like you have a few potential opportunities. :)

Hi Hidden, that's so lovely of you to pop in too - thank you :) Wow, you're doing so well with the mortgage - well done!

Well, this morning I wasn't feeling positive, but I have achieved things then had some exciting news.

    So, off the list today:

    - got emergency GP appointment and 2 prescriptions - over £16. Might need to think about pre-payment again if this carries on.

    - eyebrow thread and DS's haircut booked for Saturday, I might need to add a trim due to news this afternoon (it does need doing to be fair)

    - new budget sheet done, money moved from one account that will get its 4p interest, so will close once that is in/moved. Scarey how short I am this month and how it'll eat half of what savings I have left

    - spoke to HMRC, they were really helpful, sorted there.

Still to move money to the account to pay tax bill, but no rush as it's earning interest where it is. Talking of which £17.77 extra in from that :)

This afternoon's news...I'm a finalist in an online business idea pitch competition! I will be in London next week for the awards ceremony and to find out if I've won and again on the Friday at a well known company. Exciting, but still need a job to pay the bills and I have to pay my own travel (least will be off-peak train).

Dinner is out of the freezer and it's Meditation Group tonight - looking forward to that :)
