I'm also surprised to hear that anyone has stopped posting due to negativity (I know that's not the case with you). I've always found people incredibly supportive on here. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thought it didn’t make sense but if you’ve deleted the post - that’ll be why I haven’t seen it. You have to put your family first.
Hope all works out well.January spends - £587.580 -
Hi Cumbria,im sorry to hear about your Dad and hope he has a swift recovery once he starts his treatment
I have seen some negativity on here before but not on anyone's diary, I think we should be allowed to post whatever we like on our own diaries and if people are reading it and don't like what we are writing then they are free to stop reading and move along, they don't have to comment but sadly some people can't help themselves
I also don't think it helps that sometimes when things are written down they sound worse than they would if the people were having a conversation instead,I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but if they carry on being negative then I would call them out on it
Take care of you and yours,I look forward to reading any updates as and when you feel able to post xxOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200 -
I'll really miss reading your posts on my own and other's diaries Cumbria, but your family must come first. Thank you for all the support you've given to me over the months. I do hope things work out for your dad and your SIL, but I know you'll be there for them and the rest of your family 100%. I look forward to continuing to read your posts on here. Echoing what others have said, your RL family come first. I often feel guilty I don't have as much time as I'd like to post on other diaries when I get so much support on mine.
Sending lots of positive vibes to your dad and son in law. I hope all will be well soon.
Let us know how you're getting on from time to time xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Thank you for all your lovely comments. Sometimes RL gets in the way and you also see things differently and want to try new things.
Anyway we have had lots of medical appointments this week in the family , dad about his basal cell carcinoma and plastic surgery after. My mum with her eyes and continuing sight issues, though they are stable at the minute. My son in law who is on a sickness absence report owing to him being off a lot last year., but who is now receiving help. He seems to be doing ok at the minute, but still isn't home. My own sight test which is all ok and no change there . Can claim the cost back from the health cashplan so all good.
DGS had his birthday this week , he had a party on the double decker fun bus and had a ball. My DD and the DGD went to see In the Night Garden today at the local theatre on our £10 tickets , got the text Friday for performance today , they thoroughly enjoyed it.
I took my mum to see Anton and Erin yesterday , Mother's Day present , she loved it and so did I. This week has been very busy for me and next week as well.
I have finally used my £300 that I brought back from my Oz holiday and booked to go to Jersey in June with one of my friends . That's 3 breaks booked , but I have to say all paid in cash , no credit card in sight.
Half way through the month and all pots are doing ok. Do I dare say I bought my first Christmas present:rotfl:.
I am trying to spend less time on social media and do things that are useful, more creative , and not put things off. Spending time with people that I enjoy and getting rid of negative people.
My dad has put off cancer treatment for 3 months , he celebrates a big birthday in May and wants to enjoy his holiday first. The consultant is ok with this as it probably won't get any worse.
Anyway enough from me , hope you all have a good week. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
