Thanks Chandalier for stopping by. You would think at my age I would have learnt my lesson the first time round but no ran up the debt again.

Anyway downwards and downwards I hope.

As previously explained I had a DMP that finished some 4 years ago , however even though I cleared it I don't think I actually had my LBM . This time round paying my own debt I am learning to live within my means .

I probably have more money in the last 6 months than I have had in a long while. Budgeting, meal planning , spending diary, shopping list are all new habits but they have all helped.

Never think about using a credit card, I still have one for if ever.

After saving my emergency fund , I am now saving for decorating my rented flat . I like it to be nice and it's all magnolia and white . Have a £100 so far.

Not updated my signature yet must do it.

    Four NSD in a row.

Today though very expensive needed 3 new tyres and new brake light. £150 all in. Good job have a car pot. Just have enough in it with £30 left in . Mot and service in September , so may need to put a bit more away for that.

Also £10.80 spend in A&da on gluten free items and a card for a birthday.

    Need to update spending diary.

Back in work this afternoon , there was a bag of clothes waiting for me. A colleagues mum who has a spending habit of buying clothes brought me some of them. Some are new with labels , happy days.

How do people feel being given secondhand clothes ? I personally am not offended in the slightest I love the idea of recylcling especially the new ones.

I don't think this diary thing is for me any longer , it's like talking to yourself . However it does track my successes . I will see .

Anyhow I have bought a couple of things again for Xmas from a blue cross sale. Which I am pleased about , so not a NSD .

Hi, I just found your diary 2 days ago and have read and enjoyed it all.
I retired 18 months ago and supplement my small pension by using my savings. By the time I get my state pension in 4 and a half years I will have used £15,000 and that's only if I'm careful !!!

My car needs two new tyres which will come out of my "car fund" and I'm hoping there will be enough to cover MOT and service in October. My car is 10 years old now and I'm expecting it to start costing me more now.

Sorry for hijacking your thread. I just wanted to show you that there are others out there who can identify with you and what you're doing.

Hope you will keep writing xx

    Thanks Lucielle for reading.

Plumduff 55 the idea of saving and then using the savings to shorten my week is exactly what I am aiming to do when I have paid of my debt . Well that's the idea anyway.
