Mooloo I have barely been online over the last few months due to broken landline amongst other things .
I've just quickly skimmed back through a few pages and have really noticed a positive and upbeat tone in your recent posts . I know you still have stuff to deal with but things do seem to be sorting for you .
I hope your son can keep the job and they get on top of the house and stay that way .
I would advise you to keep on trying to find out what the problem is with your joints but at the same time perhaps it is wear and tear . You sew , lift machines etc and have physically sorted your childrens lives with hard graft over the years . I'm not advocating stopping a search for a diagnosis but you will have suffered from the hard graft - ask me how I know !
If I don't get a chance to post before you go on holiday I'm wishing you some sun , rest and a chance to just be for a while .

Worried. I went to see about adding a suitcase to my flight and if I can check in on line and airline is saying that they don't have a record of my booking!
So I have to wait until the office of the tour operators are open and see what is going on. Restless night!
I will be on the phone from 9am!!!!
I may need a miracle if something has gone wrong with my holiday. Especially as dgd is booked to swim with the dolphins on Friday.
I know that the hotel is expecting me as I amend the booking the first night to include the meal.
I am trying to be positive and upbeat about things, and use my SAD lamp as much as possible.
I am telling my self that there is time to sort it out but the last few hours and the next couple are feeling fraught.
I am trying to imagine everything going smoothly and that all is well and sorted. I am trying to "view" my day running smoothly and easily, and that my work is also done with time to spare.
I can feel the underlying panic in the pit of my stomach though, so my imagination is trying to scare monger me.
I have had a little lay in this morning as no dgd to take to school but to be honest I just tossed and turned more!
So tea, breakfast and lamp! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Oh what a worry, Mooloo
I do hope it all turns out to be all right after all.

Sorted!
Apparently have to do everything with your operator and not via airline. So I have added a suitcase and booked seats, so dgd and I should not be separated on the flight. Another £93 though. So I wasn't really bargaining on that today, but it's done now.
Sewing like a good one today and ploughing my way through as much as possible before I go home. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Glad that is sorted out then

Yesterday we didn't even take £10! So dreading what staff will get in next week, however I have sewn over £200 worth of work again on Tuesday and Thursday. I also went to see a lady about shortening her curtains last evening, and I am in line to make her curtains for the whole house when she has redecorated. Currently has swags and tails, very over the top!
BF was at mine before me, and walked to a nearby village pub, so after I had finished I met him, with the roof down on my little car, and drove back, that is the first time he's been in my car.
I started some more sewing when we had had tea etc, making bunting for a customer. the longest since doing the street party in 2012. This says Happy Birthday Sammie, so quite time consuming. I need to finish it today but after BF went this morning I fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until 7.30 so I lost an hour of my time.
Talking of which I better finish my tea and go to work.
Looked at the weather forecast for next week ( first time I have checked it since January), and it is predicted to be 23 and 24 C Monday to Friday but rain Saturday and Sunday. So we better make the most of it Tuesday to Friday ( swim with dolphins is Friday)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I know it must be disheartening to not take in any money at the shop on a particular day, but it's great you are brave enough to do normal things like going on holiday.
So many small business owners just live in a climate of fear, not taking holidays or even buying things they need, like a winter coat or new shoes, scared to take even a day off. We had whole streets that didn't even have one shop besides the corner shop open on Sundays ten years ago, and now you'ld think a Sunday were a Monday to Friday on those streets.0 -
I decided that when I opened the business I needed to make sure that I have regular holidays and space my week so that I don't get burn out.
There is no point in killing myself with work and not having a life.
I lost time with my family growing up and using nannies and childminders and working long long hours, and I got ill both times.
I am determined that I will not be like that this time.
I am working longer hours since last month, but I am stopped by 5.30pm
I managed to sew £207.50 worth of work today, and we had £239.15 worth of money in today as people started to collect the jobs I had done this week.
All I have left to do is one Wedding Dress, and 3 items that came in today and the customers are not expecting them back until after I get back.
I had a visit today from a representative for the Tailors in Buckingham, to discuss my work and to send people my way, as they no longer do alterations to anything other then their own suits etc.
So they have taken my leaflet to put in their changing room and on the counter.
They want to send the people who buy in Bicester Village to me.
Dgd is home, she had a great few days. Now we only have to get through tomorrow morning at work and then we can wind down. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
