I like the second one better I think.

Currently sitting in the bedroom, drinking mugs of tea (and coffee for Mum), watching TV. Trying to muster the energy to get changed to go down to the bar. Think we might not make it though as Mum looks a bit tired. There is a party in the Marina in one of my favourite bars, but Mum doesn’t want to go. Oh well! I signed up for the quiet life with coming here with Mum. I have booked us into the buffet evening meal tomorrow and Christmas Day. I do intend to wear my posh frock for those!
We had lunch on the sea front in Quarteira today, and I think Mum is still full. Me, I am probably ready to eat again soon.
It’s been warm in the sun, but chilly in the shade, and the wind is cooling things down a bit. But the sun has been out and I have enjoyed it when we are out of the wind.

Just heard DS’s exGF is in labour. So he will be a Christmas baby. Well Christmas Eve baby. Don’t know the name choice yet.

This has not been the best of holidays. When we first arrived on Thursday night I was quite badly bitten by mosquitoes and my face and arms swelled. On Christmas Day both Mum and I woke in the night with violent stomach pains. Mum did recover by lunchtime but I was also sick and couldn’t even keep water down for 24 hours. So we missed the gala buffet we had paid extra for and didn’t get the opportunity to wear our lovely evening clothes.
Yesterday I was a little delicate but managed to drive to Sagres, Lagos and caviero. By around 3pm I was finally able to eat something. When we got back to the hotel we had a couple of drinks in the bar and then an early night.
I thought that I had booked the car until this evening but on looking at the paperwork it goes back this morning. So I am going to go and fill up the petrol before they come to collect it.
That means we will not be venturing far and because a woman was mugged outside the hotel Mum will not go out in the evening. Kind of put a few dampeners on the holiday.
On the plus side the hotel is beautiful and comfortable and the weather is reasonably good for the time of year.
We did get our hair done when we arrived so it’s not all doom and gloom.
Right I must get a move on and get dressed etc.
New baby has a name now!

Aww Mooloo, that's such a shame. So sorry it's been disappointing, and I hope you are both recovered now x

Mum was sick again in the night, and I am still struggling with my tummy. I couldn’t eat breakfast and am just sipping water at the moment. We are through airport security etc, and waiting for the assistance to the plane in due course. I will be glad to get home, although I hear it is very cold and snow is around. I just hope that the roads from Birmingham home are clear as I don’t like driving in the snow at the best of times, without feeling ill.
Luckily for me we get extra attention with Mums wheelchair assistance.

Back safe and sound if rather hungry. Was going to get a chippy on the way home but it was closed. So we will have to wait a little longer while we cook our own.
On the plus side it saves us some money!
Hope that I will be able to eat as not managed anything but two biscuits since breakfast.
Was an interesting flight home, man sat next to us kept dragging me into conversation. Although some of the topics were interesting. He has lived in Portugal 24 years now. So political snippets and insider information was interesting enough. But boy can he talk. Kept me busy from feeling sorry for myself though!
Kettle has boiled, a good cup of tea, hot water bottle on my back, so will be warm soon. Mums in charge of the chips.
