  • If Mum hasn't already got a backrest for her bed , a large V shaped pillow preferably firm rather than soft and squishey can be a great help . It will help keep the air way open and ease a lot of the coughing . Take care of yourself , easier said than done I know !

The first half of the night was good, but from 1.45 she really had a very bad night.
I had hoped for an improvement as she had been better from around 3pm but no such luck yet. It's awful to hear her coughing but it's worse to hear her whimpers as it hurts, and she is muttering to her self to get a grip, and to god to help her. Etc
I can't do much when she's that way but stay calm and try to get her to either move or breathe slower, etc etc
I was planning to go to work today until 2pm because I have classes etc booked in, although Biggest will come over here for some of the time, she can't be here all of it.
The doctor came and checked Mum out yesterday afternoon, and he has made an appointment for 9am on Wednesday ( DGDs Birthday). I am hoping twin 1 will be coming up for that. They can stay at my house that night as I will probably still be here.
I may be in this for the long haul.

    Tired!
Adverage 3 hours sleep each night. Mum's nights are the worst.
I have slowly sewn today. Done about 1/2 of the work I needed to do. But I am obviously slow because I am tired and I don't want to make any mistakes.
Dgd is here being very good on her gadgets, watching films with great granny while I am sewing. Just making mince and potatoes for tea.
Dgd will be going to Biggests later so she can take her to school.

  • Sending you good wishes Mooloo: such situations are tough: been through it with both my parents. Just try and ensure you get rest when you can.

Biggest has Dgd staying at hers at the moment. She has taken on the shop and the children.
I have had a slightly better night, and a lie in this morning until just after 8am as Mum went back to sleep after her bouts of coughing etc.
She is very weak despite managing to eat each day. Her body is so thin that it is difficult for her and she aches all over from the coughing.
    But I see some improvements.
I am going to do some work here at hers today. The house work a little bit later.
I will need to have the children at one stage this evening but hopefully Mum will be ok on her own for a little while. It's definitely worse at night.

    Morning.
I thankfully have had a better night with Mum and managed to sleep.
Biggest sounds like she is struggling with all she has to do and having Dgd for me.
I will have to try and help her by having Dgd back I think, but how I do it I really don't know yet.
I am hoping that I will be able to leave Mum for a few hours this evening to go to parents evening and such.
