Mum took ill last night. Biggest had to call the ambulance. I went straight from my meeting. And went to the hospital with her. She couldn't breathe very well. So she is in an assessment unit, on oxygen, steroids, and a nebuliser when I had to leave her just after 1.30 this morning. Luckily Dgd was already at Biggests, and her friend was there and could babysit them all.
The doctors were not sure what was wrong, but think mum may have COPD
I need to get moving, I have Bee on the phone for the last hour.

Oh no poor Mum, hope she feels better today.

  • Mum's in bed. Just hope she sleeps soon. She is panicking every time she coughs as she struggles to breathe then. I am calm, and as comforting as I can be. Reassuring her as best I can
Going to have a nap if I can now

    Mooloo,

Where you live there should be a 'rocket' team - they are NHS COPD specialists who do regular home visits and can advise on home oxygen / nebulisers, worth seeing if you can get them out to your mum. She might also be more comfortable breathing if she's sitting up / propped up with pillows.

Mum is starting to improve. Last night we only got smart snatched moments of rest. She was coughing every 15 minutes . So I didn't get my sleep.
