London here we come! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Mooloo find out if the council have an antisocial behaviour officer.0

I agree with the above, our local council have ASB officers who deal with their own accommodation but they also have other officers that deal with wider ASB issues.
Also if you cant get through to 101 could you see if you have a Safer Neighbourhood Team - they can usually be contacted direct.
Also what about your local councillor? It is in their interest for businesses to keep trading and anything that harms them and the town will be frowned upon. Councillors have quite a bit of clout within their own council.
I think speaking to all 3 would be best as then you are getting everyone on board.
Do you know who the landlord of the property is? If you do I would be contacting them and explaining the situation and that you are getting the police and council involved. They wont like it as they can be pressurised into all sorts of things that could cost them money so they would rather resolve it themselves.0 -
It's not a crime to possess cannabis for personal use. What I would question is whether what you can smell IS personal use. If it's so strong that the smell is invading premises next door...don't mean to be alarmist, but what if there is a cannabis factory next door?
Crimestoppers Website lets you report suspicions anonymously - it also gives a freephone number if you don't mind talking to them, or you can fill in a form on the website - and you don't have to give your name.0 -
Thats not the case sorry, cannabis was reclassified as a class B drug a number of years ago.

I have had a great time in London with my Mum. Although the exhibition was smaller than I expected it to be, we found it all very interesting. I bought 1m of fabric with cows on! ( had too as I have cows in my Mooloo's logo etc. ). I plan to make shopping bags out of it. I also bought a box of bobbins.
I lusted after a quilters table, (£720), and a sewing desk £50. But resisted
Mum bought bobbins and threads for her machine.
We chatted to lots of people while having our tea, coffee (and wine). We asked lots of people questions about things, I gave out my card to a few traders, and I bought some buttons from a French man, that I plan to use on my friends denim jacket that she wants me to upcycle.
We were in the audience for a mini sewing bee challenge and chat with Patrick and Esme, hosted by Jenny Eclair.
We stayed in a hotel metres away from the exhibition and had fun sitting in the bar sewing crosses onto white fabric for a charity quilt that needs 70,230 pieces to represent those poor tortured people before the holocaust that were practiced on.
My mission is to get all my staff, customers and pupils to join in. It will take me a few days to get the stuff gathered together to do it though.
I had a bubble bath and a cup of tea yesterday morning, as there was a lovely deep bath in the room. Luxury!
Although I am tired and quiet aching this morning!
I am full of inspiration, and looking forward to a few changes in the next few months.
My mission is to get some money together to make sure that I can pay the bills first though!
(Wonder what I will find when I go in today?- hopefully nothing too drastic and hopefully I won't be knocked out by Cannabis !)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We have had a very busy day today. The first fittings were 19 jobs. Then we had an unscheduled fitting or two, several over the counter drop in jobs, and a final fitting with 4 items!
I have also been asked if I would be interested in making all the curtains for the town hall renovations! That could be hard work but amazing for the business. I believe there is about 11 pairs of very large curtains.
I am tired this evening. But that's not unusual. We have a play mate round for tea for dgd. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Make sure you charge correctly for the curtains, no cheap deals!0

Mooloo I've fallen behind so I'm not sure if the seamstress who came back when you had to let the other one go is still with you or not . A big job like the town hall curtains is a lot to tackle on your own .
Even if she isn't with you now , she may be prepared to come back for that job . Well done that's a massive chance to increase your presence .

There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Agree about the curtains, that's a very big job and I know you've struggled with curtains in the past. I presume you will have to quote for the work: I suggest doubling whatever you first think of (or rather work out!) or even tripling it, to allow for unforeseen issues, and I'd also look into sub-contracting some of it.
TBH a job like that I'd sort of expect someone who JUST makes curtains might be better placed for it.Signature removed for peace of mind0
