i am a newie on this thread but it looks fun and be nice to share my days with someone. oh gets distracted easily when i waffle on about my day. well had my weekly shop delivered yesterday and went with sainsburys after a break of about a year after disappointed with their service, getting food with only day or two before it went off etc. well saw the post on here about the frozen duck parcels coming up as nil on balance and toilets roll for 90p for 4 roll so got busy ordering. it arrived and half of it was crushed to bits yoghurts split and everywhere and got charged £11.98 for 6 boxes of the duck. got on phone and they said would refund all damaged goods and the duck was coming up as £1.50 for 3 so none of it tallied up. they then said would refund the £11.98 too and as delivery was late too they refunded charge and gave me a voucher for a free delivery next time too. so in total they refunded me £45 so was very happy bunny. then this morning had the upset of waving dd2 off to uni to complete her last year. had her home for nearly 3 months so a real wrench letting her go. she really helped get me out of myself. had become bit of a hermit after back operation failed. pain was just to much and the effort to get ready to go out just didnt seem worth. but for her i forced myself to go out. am missing her so much already and she only been gone an hour. my oh has driven her and would have liked to have gone too but car packed to the gills with all her stuff so am left resting on bed as had particularly bad night so nice to hear all your days. wil probably sit around for day may try and catch up on my knitting if can morivate myself and was hoping to do a meal plan for week as money pretty tight this week and want to defrost freezers.... have nice day everyone will catch with you all in a few hours0

Morning all!
Slept very late this morning as I was out with a girlfriend last night. Got home and DH was watching a Tomb Raider DVD, so I watched that with him. Fell aslewep as soon as my head hit the pillow, which is very unusual for me, got woken twice by Isobelle bringing in a mouse and throwing it around. DH rescued it the first time, but we were too late the second time.
Had brekkie, WM on, dough on for ciabatta for later, beef casserole out of the freezer ready to be urned into beef pie for dinner. Think I'll make my roast potatoes for the freezer later, using the hot pie oven. Thanks Pink for your help yesterday.
Plan today is to experiment with some black mesh at the bottom of the garden, to see if putting it between two "sheets" of willow screening gives us enough privacy. Am getting hens in the spring, and I don't really want everyone being able to see our Eglu cube.
Oh, I just remembered, someone stole a pint of milk off our doorstep today! I know the milkman left the correct amount (2 bottles) because he also left the bill which shows what we've had. I hope it's just a one off, otherwise I can see I'll be waiting up to catch the b*gger. We'll see what happens next week.
<<Hugs>> to you if you'd like one.
Catch you all later xxxPenelope_Penguin wrote: »Did anyone catch The Archers last night? I need to know if Will is going to share his good fortune with Ed.
We still don't know, and I suspect we won't know for ages. Last night was mainly about Cathy getting into a terrible state, blaming herself for the fact that Owen attacked someone else. Also, Fallon finally 'fessed to her mum how she feels about Ed, and Jolene told her to tell him - when she gives him his birthday pressie. Can't wait for that one, wonder whether Ed feels the same?0 -
Afternoon all
The washing line is full & so is the WM, I've made a huge batch of cauliflower & stilton soup, which will go in the freezer for next weeks lunches.
The lodger is caterwauling in her room, she sings all the time, I've no idea what she's singing, as she doesn't bother with a tune, just lots of volume!
Hubby is threatening to cut the grass, but I don't think he'll get round to it, so I'll do it once I've cleaned Thumper & Ogden out.
I've cleaned the fridge out & also need to sort out the freezer & plan next weeks meals, I've given up trying to feed the lodger, it's all too complicated. I'm just keeping lots of salad (which she heats in the microwave before she eats) & lots of museli in, she eats a packet of museli in 2 days.
I have 2 pairs of trousers, 2 skirts & 15 lavender bags to make this weekend too, another £30 earned.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Hi homealone,
My DD has just gone back to Uni for her second year, OM took her as car too full for me to go as well.
I am trying to clear up after her departure, it is amazing the way things appear! So far, there has been a handbag under the sofa cushions, earrings hanging off the mirror frame, about a million hair elastics all over the place and a pile of almost used toiletries...I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi & Hugs
Had to wake DD up at 7.30 this morning, she had her middle of the night feed late at 4.30am.
So far today I've:
Fed DD, myself, and the animals
Been to town reserved a book on baby weaning at the library, went to the cheap shop and got Comfort Pure for a £1 cheaper than the supermarket, it was also 19p for a packet of custard creams so couldn't resist.
This was followed by a trip to Asda for a few bits. Budget is tight this week as mortgage due out and pay day not until Friday so I was good and there was no deviation from the list.
We visited a local farm shop yesterday for our fruit and veg - definitely be going there again.
I even have money left to put petrol in the car! Unheard of for the week before payday.
Had baked potato with leftover Keema from last night. Fish in batter and frozen roasters and beans for tea - living on what's in the freezer this week.
Once DD wakes up from her nap I'll hoover the living room and hall. DD's cot and our bed needs stripping and washing.
MDWProud to be dealing with my debts

Hi there CHurchmouse
Don't worry, my windows only get done that often, as the whole window swings open into the house, so its so easy to get them done..about 15 mins and i can go right through the house.... and if the pidgeons would stop flying into the patio doors, leaving huge greasy marks it would help  ... i have tried hanging streamers in front so they can see them-but it doesn't help. Hubby reckons if the windows weren't so clean they wouldn't fly into them - well if they didn't fly into em i wouldn't have to clean em so often:p ...its a battle of wills to see who gives in first:rotfl:
Well we nipped to the supermarket, and i got 3x 480ml lockit tubs for £1.40..so i got 2 lots:D ..will have a look next time i go, as they sem to have every shape n size going...just tried to be good;)
Had a kitchen attack.....now i have:-- a huge vat of liver casserole cooling
- 2 kilo of pork -plus veg n broth mix ticking over in the SC - which will become pies
- a beef stew in the oven
- 3 kilo of nobby greens, blanched n cooling
- and 24 chicken portions bagged up... so that little lot should top up the freezer, and keep us going for a while :T
- and a batch of bread dough siting in the bowl, proving.... so i think i deaerve to get the x stitching out..if i can muster the energy:p
Homealone....hello and welcome
tiredmum.. glad things are a little less sore
Hope everyone is having a good day, hugs to all in need of one..i will go away now and look through the posts...

I was going to go shopping next week, but I think there is enough in the freezer to feed us for an extra week, so tomorrow I am going to have afreezer clear out and see if I can mackle up enough meals for another week out of there, I know I have braising steak and also some casserole pork and 2 lots of fish, not sure what else is in there, Opened a can of bully beef in the week so that needs eating up and I also have a serving of liver and sausage and I think another 4 links of sausage.............could be a good week!!!!!
Sheets washed, dried, ironed and put away......feeling very good....pat on the back for sticking to my intent not to let the ironing pile up!!! Bed re-made. OH has gone out to his bowls match, I am just watching the Davis cup on TV.
Its a long story but I was involved when Tim Henman married Lucy at the local church, he had such a neat bum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ooooooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!!!he is a really nice chap, and I am sad that he did not have the necessary to win the mens singles. Lucy had another little girl just last week, so he has 3 girls now.

Hi Guys!
I didnt think my week could get any worse......but ATM i am in !! e had a phonecall late on Thursday night from my sister (30) who has 2 kids...her and her hub are in the process of seperating but he decided to flip and kick her and kids out of house:eek:     ....police were called as he got in her face but they advised sister to leave as her OH was refusing to go and wasnt safe for the kids. Police assured her that if she left he couldnt change the locks etc. He was "f" ing and blinding (being VERY nasty and insulting)and the kids were scared. She stayed at folks house. Anyway she got a call yesterday from him saying come and get your stuff tonight as tomorrow im changing the locks and because sisters name isnt on morgage, he can legally do so! He made sure it was late so difficult for her to get legal advice etc. Dad went with her last night and he went for my dad. My dad is the loveliest gentle man you could think of but he gave back as good as he got:D Her OH is a big bas$$$$ and 27 years younger than my dad. Police called again..blah blah blah. I was phoning around last night to friends who are lawyers and legal execs and apparently although when it comes to selling the house she will get max of 70%, he can legally change the locks as she has left the house willingly...but only on the police say so.
My OH & sister are round there ATM trying to sort something out as she cant see her solicitor till Monday. He didnt want me to go round there with sister as he's scard of me....dunno why:p
:A
Fingers x'd something will be worked out!
Nothing OS done but am going to do a Roast Chicken dinner later. Folks are abroad today (priorities!!).
I feel so crap and really didnt need this. Funeral Wednesday and a wedding next week.......what next?????????????????????????????
Hope everyone else is having a better weekend than me! Looking after my niece ATM which is a laugh.
Hugs to all.

Welcome HOMEALONE, you will love it here.
Hus to those who have kids leaving for uni.
Well life just keeps kicking us in the teeth (or so it seems:rolleyes: )
OH has lost his job, even though he hasn’t actually been told. He has rang around for others, but they have all gone. So we will be up the proverbial creek without a paddle. God knows what will happen if my back doesn’t get better by December (my half pay from work will finish then:eek: )
Sorry to be so down but i cant seem to perk myself up today (doesn’t help being the worlds worst worrier)
Have taken Ilo for a walk. WM’ s on with 2nd load. BM is on with wholemeal loaf. May make a Madeira cake after (not very OS, packet mix i’m afraid) then again i will probably have to leave it,my back is killing today. Yesterday i was in tears i was in that much pain.
Right im off to get a hot water bottle for my back.see if that helps.
Sorry again for being a gloomy c*w,
HUGS if you need them,
ellie0
