yesterday was a bit of a lost day OS wise. Bought pressie for DS girl friend and visited my friend in hospital. Ended up with an Asda curry for tea instead of eating the planned pork chops. ;)
heard boss is offering extra hours (I've to look surprised when she asks me ;)). not sure what to do. we could use the money but I dont know if I want to be tied down to extra hours. I work extra when I feel like it now.
not sure what we will get up to today. for once we are all here! kids will probably do their own thing though.

  • Morning all! I have 2 batches of bread proving on top of the Rayburn. I'm going to make a spiced fruit loaf, some garlic bread strips to go with the HM onion soup for lunch, and some dough balls for the freezer. I'm singing in a concert tonight (our town is having a Heritage Weekend, and we're the big draw ;) ) so need an easy supper, and I'll be in no mood to eat  . Going to make pancakes, and freeze some to make spinach and ricotta canelloni later in the week.

We had our first log fire last night - very snuggly :T

I joined Amazon DVD rentals with a free trial last night. We're planning to have *movie nights* MSE style through the darker evenings. They've dispatched Elizabeth already:j We want to see it again (and the Small Penguins for the first time) before the sequel comes out, but I suspect it may be a 15, so they won't be able to come :o

Did anyone catch The Archers last night? I need to know if Will is going to share his good fortune with Ed.

Have a great day, Penny. x

  • Hi Everyone - haven't been on the computer much lately as have been really busy but hope everyone is okay.

Just got back from running DD1 to work - she's a Saturday girl in Boots, which is really handy for me because I get 2nd family member staff discount too (22% on Boots and No7 and 12.5% on everything else and 15% off anything online). I only have one washload in machine and am not going to put any more on today because the rain has been terrible and I have a mountain of stuff to iron and put away and don't want to generate any more.

I want to make a roast dinner for tonight because the last few Sundays DD1 has been out and ex OH has been to take DD2 out so no point in making a dinner just for me. I will have to go and buy some meat though and don't know what to get - will have to see what it on offer I suppose.

DD2 had a friend round last night to watch High School Musical and they watched it live and recorded it and have been watching the replay all last night and now this morning - she and DD1 are totally in love with Zac Efron:rolleyes:

Hope you all have a great Saturday and (((hugs))) to those who need them.

  • Good morning:hello:

Shez, could you send some of that sun across the river, please? The last of my holiday washing (and the stuff the boys so kindly accumulated for me in my absence:rolleyes: ) is about to finish and that makes three loads to go on the line. All I have is grey cloud cover:mad: Poor washing machine was still at it at 11.30 last night, too late for pegging out:rotfl: The only downside is that as mount washmore has diminished, mount ironmore is growing to volcanic proportions!!!!

Today I have to do some cooking for the freezer, boys have eaten all the HM ready meals, so there's nothing quick and easy to help me out. Shall have to do a big shop first though, so don't think I'll be coming in on budget this week! I should get more organised and build up savings for these shops, but hey I can't be perfect all the time:D

tired mum, glad you're a bit better today, but keep a close eye on it.

MRSMCAWBER You clean the windows how often:eek:  You wouldn't care to come and do mine would you? I thought I was reasonable at doing them, but I'm now too ashamed to say how often mine are cleaned:o

chalky, fingers crossed the weather holds for your BBQ:D

Suppose I should stop whittering and go start my list.

Happy days to everyone, and (((((hugs))))) to those not having good times.

    CMx

Off to the market in abit, need to get to the butchers for our months worth of meat for the freezer. DD also needs her passport photos doing so I'll get that at the same time. Its a lovely day here after the rain of yesterday, just waiting on the WM and then I'll get it hung out.

    Have a good day everyone

Think we'll all head up to the Alnwick food festival today. Hope it stays nice.

Could anyone who is going to respond to Pen Pen's Archers query please warn me - I usually listen to the omnibus on sunday, so I don't want to know yet!:D ;)

Tired mum - hope you feel better.

    Morning everyone!
just popped in to say 'hello' - back at school now and no time for anything in the morning, so I have not been around for the daily. Getting withdrawal symptoms!

Have continued the excellent skills learned here and on the rest of the site:
*Managed to pay off a £350 pcm debt that still had 10 months to go, so that is the big 3 cleared this year. Shall snowball the money 'saved' with the other payments, and save them to clear the last loan by April: can't overpay the fixed rate loan unfortunately. It still means we can pay off the car inside 3 years instead of 5!
    * Grocery shop is now reduced by at least £100 a month, hoping to make it £125 this month, but have also been maximising Tesco points too!
    * Just have the junior Lux's Chrsitmas presents left to buy... oh, and OM's! Everything else is in a box ready to wrap at half term.
    * House de-clutter is going steadily and I have started to E-bay towards next summer's holiday. May have to change my name: got really ill this summer!
    * Still hoping to get the hang of Flylady... blush!

Hope you are all well, I want to drop in more often!

    Have a great weekend. (((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))
