Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sat 22/09. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone
hope everyone is well
Tired mum how are you today?
did anyone see eastenders last night I missed the last bit with who was stalking Ian Beale (sorry Loraine) and it's been bugging me
I am going to do the baking today that I've not got around to in the past couple of days I have a list of jobs for the kids to do so I can stay in the kitchen
have a good day all
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: to all

Morning. Day off for me... I shall take it easy first thing walking the dog to the village and get the paper. Then a nice pot of coffee. Fresh this morning eggs, lightly poached on toast. Then think about what to do for the day.
Probably have to take th family somewhere. Did the train last weekend, but it was a bit of a nuicance as we had to stand all the way home.
We shall see anyway.
Plum wine is nicely bubbling away downstairs. I need to make some elderberry but I might be too late....
Anyway have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning Guys!:D
Think I will be doing the bedding today too as its sunny and I can get it out on the line! DH is doing a survey on a neighbours house this morning which is part of his course (he has to submit 5 in total).
We have a party to go to later in a hall to celebrate neice's confirmation - ages since I went one of those!!!! apparently they want me to make a bread pudding!!! cant believe anyone wants that in the evening? but maybe its for those oldens who just have a cuppa and dont drink!!! Gosh I havent got a thing to wear:rotfl:
I didnt see Eastenders last nite - I hope its not you AMIE stalking Ian Beale and gettin your own back for entering your dreams all the time!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a good saturday everyone xx0 -
Morning all who have posted so far. I've never watched Eastenders; as Loraine says there is no-one hunky in it, I don't think I ever will! Now, if Colin Firth was in it, that would be another matter!
AMIE, HARIBO and TIRED MUM - hope you are all feeling better.
Well, plan today is to do a big food shop - we've been living out of the freezer which has been very challenging but very OS. I have now run out of meat (except mince and we've had that twice since Monday so time for a change). I must also do some ironing - why does it never end? I also want to make some cakes and a blackberry crumble. The blackberries are never ending here at the moment so I must make the most of them.
Well, must get DH up I supppose, then have a shower so see you all later. Have a great morning, everyone.

Hi everyone, not been on this week as it's been really hectic. Started night school on Wednesday (even got homework !!!). Went to a public meeting on Tuesday re houses going to get built in our village, not against new houses just the amount 250 !!!
My great news is that DD just phoned to say she will be home for Christmas this year, soooooooooo excited. Last two years, she has been in Australia, she's what I call a Millenium Hippie - happy go lucky, always travelling and a breath of fresh air wherever she goes. At the moment she's been cycling solo in the Pyranees for 5 weeks and is hoping to go on to Portugal then North Africa. It will be great to have all the family together again at Christmas.
Today is following the same Saturday pattern that I love. A bit of housework, then going shopping to Sainsbury's as I have a money off token from Nectar. Then a wander round the shops, want to start a pamper hamper for DD's Christmas. In the afternoon I will go and visit Mum and Dad. I have a good DVD for tonight and I have nearly finished the cardigan I am knitting - just got the button bands to do. Hopefully I will get it finished this weekend.
That's all for now, hope you all have a great day !

Hi everyone-- feeling refreshed after lovely sleep
N9eav- we used to make wine - elderflower was my favourite. Hope things have quietened down on the adoption front. I absolutely love children but now all mine are grown I could not start again. Like Aussie Lass I am looking forward to the grandchildren.
Well up early this morning as we have a BBQ here for all OH's ex workmates they were so brilliant when he retired 3 weeks ago so this is our way of saying thannks. Luckily dd1 and her partner are coming to actually BBQ so he is free to mingle. Actually like most men he would prefer to do the cooking but not allowed today. It is our last thing before really settling to store cupboard and stock cupboard challenge.
BBQ is trying to be OS -- shopped at Lidls -- lots of homemade, blackberry and apple crumble- home made pasta and potato salad etc.
Well lets just hope the sun starts shinig soon.
Hope everyone has a really happy day. Congratulations to all Those celebrating. Hugs and gentle thoughts to all those who need them. And best wishes to those who sometimes feel all alone.Try and do a good deed every day.0
