Well done luxor!! :j
Morning all!!
I am so chipper this morning
Have 60 degree wash on with towels and bedding - I looked at the weather forecast for the weekend and today is the only day it's not chucking it down, so got a couple of loads to do.
OH has gone fishing - maybe he'll catch something this time instead of just losing all his equipment.
Paid the electric bill, got my nectar card put onto it, changed my address with nectar. Tried to change my addy with clubcard ages ago, but since then 'havent been able to view my points balance', so somehow, I don't think its happened
Have a log delivery coming today- £45 a load (a big two axle trailer full). Yes, we are disorganised and wait until its cold before we order logs so its more expensive . Next year though
Oh yeh - we have a new TV :j It's a 32" LCD one, bought with some of OHs compensation - its really nice. We will be mounting it above the fire eventually and putting some funky LED lighting behind it (the TV I wanted had an LED panel as the frame...but it doesn't come out until the end of september so that tells you how expensive it would be ) So, we compromised
Other than that, not too much going on. Am going to deep clean the bathroom - the witch who lived here before us neglected the bathroom, so today I have to clean the grout of the (mosaic) tiles. Fun.
Going to Mevagissey later - I want to get a mirror for the bathroom and then OH can do some more fishing. Was supposed to be going to Plymouth, but don't think I can be bothered now...wil go tomorrow or something.
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
morning all,
not long been up, dd and friend were up till 2, and then i came down and put another quilt over them, they only had a thin blanket, and insist on sleeping on the sofa which is a lot colder than a a bed
I cooked fahitas for tea last night dd friend took one bite, and I could tell she did not like it, bless her, she was not going to say anything, so she ended up having a wrap with cheese and beens, god knows what her mother will think of me, especially with the ice cream and sweets they had, it was a one off though.
Off to Chichester today, girls will go off on there own, me and OH can have a wander round the shops, will hopefully pick up more xmas presents, although I have 10 birthdays in Nov and Dec  , Hopefully i can persude him to buy me lunch out, although he has the optition (sp) today which will be expensive. I also need to pick up more bottles in lakeland to decant my vodka into at xmas.
I think we are having chilli for tea, depends on what lunch we have.
Tired mum, take it easy, perfect excuse to put your feet up
dlb glad you are feeling better.
Amie welcome back have missed you x
Hugs to all that need or want one.

We had a good shower of rain this arv. It's turned cold again and winter pj's are back on.Haven't done anything too exciting other than the normal jobs. Might go to the markets tomorrow & grab a few things from the supermarket while we're near there.
Tired Mum Glad your feeling a bit better this morning. Well lucky I don't have a bath.

Morning all!
Just had a bath and getting ready to go into the city-have a few bits to get, so I'm hoping they are all bargains! Or worth the money anyway. Talking of money, I'm debating getting a mouth guard as my teeth are wearing from my sleep grinding, ugh! We have no NHS dentists in our town, and the dentist fitted guards are at least £150, so I'm scouring the internet, trying to find an alternative!
Hm, what else? I've not been on as work has been really busy, and I'll be even more busy next week as I have meetings and stuff like that, urgh! So when I'm food shopping today (I've not been good at planning lately, so it has slipped, so angry with myself!) I shall pick up a flask for some soup, then I can fill myself up and keep going when I'm away from home in the evenings.
Not much OSing this weekend-apart from the cooking and cleaning. Am going to do some baking this evening-brownies and hob nobs I think!
Have a good weekend x

Good Morning All
I said all week it was stephen, but watching Eastenders last night, when shouted his name, I missed what Ian said! Typical!
Anyway, we've completely emptied the outhouse, and the cupboard under the stairs. Got some stuff to freecycle, and more stuff for the car boot.
Plus Ive been going through my ebay items, and doing some re-listing!
Next task is to go through the kids bedrooms. See what's used & what's not! ebay or carboot their stuff!
DS came home from school with a letter inviting him to go on a trip to France next year with the school. 5 days, full board, incl travel & group passport, loads of activities, £285. Not really OS saving, but I never had these opportunities at his age, so I may consider in letting him go! Ive text his dad to see if he will contribute towards it, as usual, where money/kids are concerned, he's not replied!
OH put one interior door up last night. OMG - What a difference just 1 door can make! I managed to get some bri-wax from wilko's. Cheaper than ebay prices!
Right, best be off, and help OH, i can hear him moaning!
Hve a great week end

Morning :hello:
No news this morning. Not long up.Lunch is organised (pea and ham soup) and tea may be a hotchpotch as I have lots of bits in the fridge approaching their sell by.
Penny. We've had the log fire going for 2 weeks now. Boy does it burn the logs quickly. Blairweech. ..sorry, but we're off to pick up our free logs this afterneeon. There was a guy in the local paper offering to fill your boot.We don't have to buy logs anyway as MIL has a huge garden and enough logs to last a lifetime, but she is on holiday and I can't be bothered with the 80 mile round tripp to collect them.
Churchmouse... I need to join you in cooking for the freeaer and tackling the ironing. Just need a bit of motivation.
Hope you feel better soon Tired mum

Morning all
Tired mum - apply a hot as you can bear it flannel to the area concerned - will help draw out the nasty stuff, I suffer quite a lot with something that sounds similar and that's the only way I can get rid.
I've only been up an hour so you lot all sound so organised. DD's both have stinking colds and DD2 woke up several times last night - hence the late rising this morning....bless her. DH has gone to work for a few hours and then it will be a lazy afternoon.
Need to stick some washing going as both DD's seem to have used every handkerchief in the house.
Had a horrible smell in the kitchen yesterday, managed to locate the problem but it wasn't pleasant at all - let's just say, when I moved the fridge out - I did more damage to the decomposing lump of fur (I assume it was a mouse) - that's the 3rd one this week we've had in the house - don't you just love cats!
Anyway - hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all. Evil bank still haven't unblocked my account despite me going in last week to amend my address and request it be unblocked. I wouldn't mind but it's happened at payday/bill day time so I'm behind on all my bills. I can't even go in the the branch as I'm house bound due to the pregnancy complication.
Baby 1982 is merrily kicking away, oblivious to all the trouble he is causing me - bless him and I've knitted four patches for his blanket.
Anyway, trying not to get wound up about the whole thing as it will only make it all worse - the money is there I just can't use it! On the bright side I won't be overspending this month!!!!£4000 challenge
Currently leftover - £3872.150 -
Morning all..........(((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Its a misty morning here, no sign of the sun as yet, have only been up a short while, woke about 6am and then went back to sleep, OH woke me bringing in my brekkie.....
Stripped the bed, its in the washer as I type, will go down in half an hour or so and shove it in the dryer......might even get it ironed this afternoon. OH is playing bowls and I have vowed not to let the ironing sit until it reached gigantic proportions again......
We enjoyed out little treat last night, OH had steak and ale pie, I had steak and jacket spuds........now we have worked out where we are going to use the extra cash, first thing is to build up our emergency fund to £500, whilst paying some off the OD and a tiny bit for the hols fund........once we have built up the EF that cash will go into paying off the OD so should be free of it this time next year............hooray!!!! We are going to allow ourselves a treat once a month, either a meal out or a trip somewhere, next months is already paid for the trip to Devon on a Sun holiday for 4 nights, but we need petrol money.........taking the meals with us.
Right offsky for now, have a good day folks.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
tired-mum I agree with what Pooky said about the hot flannel - when I have bad exczema on my hands, I put them into water that is as hot as I can stand - it itches like crazy for a few minutes, then it subsides and makes it bearable for a few hours. Something to do with activating the anti-histamines in your body and drawing them to the right place
Hariboto you. I live in Cornwall, we work differently to the rest of the world  It doesn't help that our woodstove fires the hot water and the central heating, so goes through logs like theres no tomorrow. OH refuses to buy anthracite coal as it would increase our carbon footprint dramatically. That said though, I love the woodstove
A few days, someone (possibly anniestar) mentioned pear mincemeat - wondered if they had the recipe and deatils about how long it lasts cos I want to make some. Maybe its just the same as normal mincemeat, but with pears not Bramleys. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
