indie sorry about 'A'. It seems like he has problems and you are best off well out of his life. I hope you enjoy your walking trip.

ll sending you hugs. I hope your health plans are successful.

sugar good luck with your tests next week.

I had my hair done today and I'm pleased. The hairdresser said it was best just to do my roots for now and lighten my hair gradually. I also had it trimmed and the hairdresser seemed to understand curly hair - she put in some long layers, which look nice. I feel this salon worked with me much better than other salons I've visited, so I'll definitely go back.

Thanks, am all packed now and starting to feel excited now am seeing my friends comment on Facebook about the trip too. To think this time last week I was almost wishing I wasn't going because I would miss A

Glad to hear you had a good trip to the hairdresser, it's really quite difficult finding hairdressers who can deal with curly hair. I've been with mine for 10 years and he is great, really gets that I need some shaping to stop it going triangular at the bottom and flat on the top, but not too much or it ends up sticking out sideways. He also protects me from any daft ideas I might have, was contemplating having a fringe cut in again a few years ago and he said he really didn't see it working - and you know looking back at old photos from when I had various different styles of fringe over the years I have to admit he is right!

LL maybe a friendship site would be something to consider rather than dating. I have to admit to being biased as DH and I met on t'internet back in early 2003.
indie best shot of him...he's not a chap to get too tangled up with! Enjoy Glen Coe, and say hello to the memorials to the Commandos and the Massacre for me!

    Hello Ladies,

LL I am so sorry that you are having a difficult time at the moment. Bear in mind that it is not a crime to be a strong, independent woman even when you would like to be in a relationship. You have got to the 1st hurdle in feeling ready to possibly start having a relationship with another man. Build your own life so that you are always looking forward to having adventures big and small on your own terms. Pleasing yourself and having the luxury to make decisions for yourself that are only in your best interests rather than having to capitulate or compromise to suit the needs of the man in your life is a real bonus for you at the moment.A good example is you buying your son's house and deciding to decorate your new home to your individual taste.

I really enjoy being single and independent. Especially financially independent. I do not find it difficult to be celibate for years on end, when I can not find a man that I feel it is worth risking my single life for. :D Yet, when I am in a relationship, I need a very loving, accomplished lover that like me finds the missionary position incredibly exciting and a wonderful turn on. ;) I do not want to be sexually adventurous. I know what I like. :D The only reason I gave Wayne so many chances when he certainly did not deserve them is because unlikely as it seems we were so sexually compatible that multiple orgasms were a given and I could take them for granted. :D Even kissing, snogging and holding hands was almost unbearably erotic with Wayne.:D Alas that was the only area of our relationship that we were ideally suited and perfectly matched, so it was always going to fizzle out.

I can never help smiling when I see couples holding hands, hugging each other or snogging in public. I feel happy for other couples who have found love with each other. It is affirmation that there are plenty of couples in loving relationships, Happily living together or happily married. :D

There are also many women and men who are living very happy single lives and at this juncture in my life, I am one of them. :D

Thanks for the pep talk Sugarbaby....just the ticket.

Actually I don't mind being alone.....there are a lot of advantages to living solo. And definitely better to have no man than the wrong man.:rotfl:

I think I was just a bit low yesterday..... .a combination of the looming 3rd anniversary of my husbands death, still getting over the upset over my sister, and fears about knee surgery.

I think seeing all those couples just rubbed salt in the wounds and made me feel a bit whistful and melancholy. I have had a good sleep and feel much brighter today.

You and Floss have it right - i can build a happy and fulfilling life as a singleton. Whilst the odd dinner date/theatre outing with male company would be nice I don't NEED a man to define me.

I have a lunch date with a female acquaintance on Monday.....I think that's the way forward.......widen my circle of friends and acquaintances and get out and about more. Try some new hobbies and experiences.

Anyway I have got plenty to keep me occupied - getting fit and healthy is top of my list and fabbing my house to my hearts content.

This week I have done two undercoats to six dining chairs and I shall start on the table today. Then there's the bookcase, TV and coffee table to go. So.....plenty to keep me busy.

There is nothing wrong with them, they are all fairly new. They are all made of Mexican pine, very solid and sturdy. I just feel that they are a bit bland and masculine. So I shall paint them a pale grey...... a bit of French chic......ooh la la. As you say Sugarbaby, I don't have to compromise now on decorating choices .......I can be as girly as I like.

Another 1lb lighter this morning. :D

Well done ll on both the weight loss and the furniture front. I sometimes see furniture dumped by the side of the road and I'm always tempted to grab it and re-condition, but in reality, I don't have the time to do so.

Whilst we are on the subject of hobbies, I bought some wool and I plan to knit or crochet a scarf. I periodically start a project but rarely finish. So, my goal is to practice my skills, but also to finish!!!

LL even in your lowest moments, try to remind yourself of all that is good in your life and those low moments will be more bearable.

There are times when I just want to sit and sob for all the losses I have experienced in my life. But I remind myself of all the positives in my life even as I am crying and feeling sad for the loss of so many family members and friends.

Yes indeed Sugarbaby, I have much in my life that is good and I usually manage to remain upbeat and positive. The other day was just a little blip. ;)

And as much as I miss my husband I count my blessings that he was with me for 34 very happy years........that is a lot more than some people get to experience.

I feel so much brighter and have barely given my sister a thought for the last couple of days. So all the pain and hurt is receding into the background now - where it firmly belongs. ;)

I have been busy painting and just generally getting my act together.
This afternoon I am going to tackle the garden before the weeds get out of hand.

I have been formulating an action plan for the next six months and am just going to press on.

I want to lose 2 stones in weight and finish all the final bits and pieces in this house. Then after Christmas it will be my big holiday and then I will take it from there.

I was thinking I might try and have a couple of uk mini breaks between now and Christmas so have been looking at coach trips. Never done one before.

Just got to keep looking forwards .....with hope and optimism.

LL coach trips are a good way to see parts of the country without the hassle of actually driving (when the driver never sees anything ;)), and they are generally not too long to get fed up or irritated by one's fellow travellers :D
