Excuse my typical nosiness LL but I thought you were living with DD2 but in his house until you find your own. Does this mean you'll stay put or are you still looking for the bungalow? 😀

As I understand it, LL's DS2 is moving in with his GF, and LL is buying his house (where she was already living) from him :D

    Yes that's right.

Maman - everything has changed whilst you were away. :rotfl: I have decided to buyDS2's house - gives him a quick easy sale. I am buying it £10k less than market value - well I have paid for the Renovations:rotfl:

It cuts down on buying and selling fees, so he still gets a nice
chunk of equity for his next deposit and I will still make a bit of profit when I come to sell - probably next year.

    So it's win-win all round.

I am keeping the bulk of the furniture etc because his girlfriend already has her own fully furnished property. So I save a tidy penny there too.

Sometime next year they will then sell her house and buy a home together.

He will get custody of the cat and I will have visitation rights. :rotfl:

    Floss....your hair sounds fab.

Sounds like too much product was used, combined with not much experience. Hope you get some resolution from the head office - was it a national chain?

I was offered a treat, truthfully, I asked if they could do something nice for someone who needs it . i can afford and have products but i dont want to go back.

    Hello Ladies,

The appointment yesterday at the Rapid Response Chest Pain Clinic went okay. The clinical nurse (female) did my ECG, then another clinical nurse (male) had a private conversation with me, took my blood pressure and listened to my heart with a stethoscope.

He really annoyed me, as he tried to tell me that when I had similar chest pains and other associated symptoms back in 2014 and was referred to the same clinic, that I was told my heart was becoming enlarged. I pointed out to him, that I opt to have a copy of all letters and reports that are sent to my GP, sent to me and I was in fact told that there was nothing wrong with my heart and my GP should look into whether the symptoms were psychological!!!!!!

He also decided that my scheduled heart scan should be done at a later date, so I have to wait to get the appointment letter, which is frustrating. He did not explain to me why this heart scan was being postponed. :(

I will try to get an appointment with one of the GP's in my Surgery today if possible or at least a call back from a Doctor today to discuss all of the available results from the tests I have done in the last few weeks. I will not be agreeing to just start taking more pills.

I am going to take my health into my own hands and start to make even more changes with my diet and my level of exercise. I just need to ensure that I am not pushing my body to do too much exercise too soon. Exercise is not easy at the moment because of all of the pains I keep on getting in my arms, legs, shoulder blades and neck. I do not want to return to taking painkillers every day. They physio exercises I have to do each day are doable, as I was advised to do them sitting on a dining chair, which I am doing each day.

The British Heart Foundation's (BHF) website is a real mine of useful information. I ordered 2 publications that I can use to help guide myself.

LL you are doing so well with your weight loss with improving your knee and your home decoration. Keep moving forward :)

Thanks for the update sugarbaby. I hope you are able to get an appointment today and get to the bottom of what that male nurse told you yesterday. It's also a really good idea of yours to take advice before pushing yourself with the exercise. I have a niggle in my ankle at the moment and need to find out whether rest or exercise is the best way forward.

It's a glorious day here, promising to reach 28 degrees this afternoon. We're out to lunch at Watership Down and I'm going to wear a sleeveless dress and show off my tan.:D I don't suppose my meal will do much for healthy eating though. I'm working my way back slowly into that.:o

Sugarbaby Hope you manage to get an appt today with your GP and start getting to the bottom of things. And I agree.........do your research so you can go in with some knowledge and also be able to take some self help measures.

Another warm day here. I got my shopping done first thing and am going to stay indoors this afternoon and start top coating the dining table.

Well they say every cloud has a silver lining. Whilst I miss my son of course I have noticed my grocery bill has come right down. :rotfl: so there's a positive.

I realised that my son and I have been living together for 9 years......since he left university. He was with me through the final dark days of caring for my husband, through the awful nursing home years, apart from my six month stint when I rented the bungalow to be nearer to my husband, through his death and the subsequent death of my parents. He has been there quietly in the background, helping me, being good company - I have been truly blessed.

But as we all know .....our children are not ours to keep, we only get to borrow them for a while. So whilst I have been a bit "panicky" at being completely alone again (it's been 37 years since I lived alone) it's time to let him go, time for him to fly.

And maybe, it's time for me to try and flap my wings a bit too.;)

Fingers crossed you managed to get a docs appointment Sugarbaby .
Welcome back Maman glad you enjoyed your holiday.
    Hello Stylesavvymom
It's a lovely warm day here and set to get hotter over the next couple of days. I did pop out to town earlier and was too hot in my linen tunic with capri style trousers so have changed into a simple cotton dress.
Have been feeling very low lately and missing my darling Mum dreadfully, it's coming up to the 6 month mark since she died and think the full realisation of what happened has finally sunk in. The hospice finally contacted me yesterday ( I had requested counselling ) but the first session they can offer isn't until the beginning of August :( so my trip into town included a visit to the docs when I was prescribed a low dose of anti-depressants. I took them briefly a few years ago when my eldest brother died and they did help so hopefully they will do so again.
Anyway, I try not to dwell but to see positives instead, I have many blessings to count :)

SOrry to hear you are feeling down, Lainey. Of course you miss your mum, six months is nothing.

I never really had chance to mourn my mother, I was still raw from my husbands death and I was caught up with looking after dad too, so just had to keep ploughing on.

I often find myself talking to my mum.......daft I know but I do miss her and it's been two years now.

Grief takes a long time. There are no short cuts.

I sometimes think I haven't really "mourned" any of them properly because I still get mild panic attacks, usually first thing in the morning. Although TBH I have only started those again since "sistergate" - before that I was doing ok.

I have not had counselling nor anti depressants. I have found a few blogs and articles which have helped. And of course there's the "widows thread" over on the Over 50s board which I have found very helpful and supportive.

As I say I find early mornings the most difficult, my tummy does somersaults for several hours and I sometimes struggle to eat. That's why I have decided to channel my energies and thoughts into finishing the house, painting furniture etc. Work is often my saviour at such times when I'm anxious and stressed.

I find physical work such as painting, gardening etc very therapeutic. I find working with my hands very soothing. It helps me switch off and stops those racing thoughts. Almost like meditation, I just zone out for a while.:rotfl:

I used to find doing embroidery very relaxing so I thought I might do a couple of tapestry cushions over the winter evenings whilst watching TV.

I think it's just about finding something to help us relax and switch off for a while. I hope the anti depressants kick in quickly and you feel better soon.
