Just a quick catch up with everyone..... LL, I hope you have had a busy and positive day, your painting sounds fab
definitely think about the coach trips, I was going to do a few before the babies came along as they seemed very good value. If you are inclined towards company then they are also good for having people to chat to (whilst also being able to get away from them!); I'm glad that you are concentrating more on you and less on your sister, as she no longer deserves your thoughts and concerns.
Sugarbaby, I hope you receive some useful information from your tests soon and that the GPs can help you back to full health. It is always so lovely to hear about you enjoying yourself, singing and dancing the night away!
And indie, what a rubbish thing to happen, I can fully understand you feeling down over the 'A' situation (although a holiday will hopefully have helped you feel a lot better!). I went out with a guy once who would push girls away once they got close rather than get too serious; we're friends now (this was many years ago!) but he's watched many of his friends get married, have kids, have happy relationships etc without him having the courage to do so too. What a strange way to behave......
Well, OH and I have been getting on well enough as he hasn't been here muchhe's been leaving for work at 6.30am and getting home 7pm at the earliest. That hasn't been too bad except I'm tired out after childcare, housework etc and he SNORES - oh my goodness does he snore!! He's a bit depressed as he's put on half a stone when he feels that he didn't deserve to; I don't think he counts alcohol when he thinks that he hasn't been eating/ drinking much and after a stag do and a wedding he's been doing a lot of drinking!
I've found a local preschool for the boys to go to, just one morning from November, but I think they will enjoy it and it will give me a couple of hours freedom a week :j I've had a difficult time with them recently and spoken to TAMBA a few times, I find it hard that I can't do things with them that my friends with only one baby can. Plus DS1 is a real handful - doesn't eat or sleep as much as DS2 - and he's started scratching other childrenit's absolutely mortifying, he started doing it to defend himself from DS2 when they squabble, but now he does it to any child that he feels is getting too close. He knows it's naughty but doesn't seem able to stop himself, and it's ruining my enjoyment of events as I have to watch him like a hawk all the time, which isn't fair on DS2 either as he wants some attention too..... sigh.
Anyway, sending you all good wishes for the coming week, hope it's a fab one! Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
Hi guys! Newbie here!
I'm super late to this thread but would like to joinI've a few goals this year, mostly it was to lose 2st (not had much luck so far but now the sun is out I'm a little more optimistic!) I've also joined Slimming World so fingers crossed that makes a difference!
There's some great lip tips on here and I'm loving the positivity. I have a wedding coming up this year and I was wondering if any of you guys had some sale tips for occasionwear?0 -
Morning all,
Welcome stylesavvymom :hello:
Good luck with your weight loss aim - Maman is away on holiday at the moment but I am sure she will be able to help on the Slimming World front as she is a great advocate of it (as am I but I don't go to a group).
Sorry to hear you are struggling with the twins at the moment Ruby - they must be a handful on your own.
Glad to hear you sounding so much brighter LL - we used to go on coach trips quite a lot years ago but seem to have forgotten all about them now - you have re-kindled my interest
Managed to fit in a spot of pampering at the weekend - my finger & toenails look lovely in a bright shade of orange
Have a good week all0 -
Welcome Stylesavvymom
LL I hope your painting of your furniture is continuing to go well. You are so capable and efficient when it comes to DIY projects
Ruby, I hope that when the tests are complete, I will have lots of information on how to improve my health in the short term and long term. I really miss Karaoke and dancing, but I get chest pain and breathlessness too easily at the moment, so rest, relaxation and sleep is best for me for now.
It is great that you have found a pre-school for your boys Ruby. I am sure they will enjoy it and you will enjoy having some time to yourself. With regards to DS1 scratching other children, try not to panic. You need to work on this behaviour at home with him, so that he will understand that it is not acceptable to express your emotions in this way. Talk to him one to one and as if he is capable of understanding every word you are saying to him. Keep it simple and he should then be able to grasp why expressing himself by scratching other children is not acceptable. This needs to be dealt with before he starts at pre-school or they may have to ask him to leave pre-school. I know it is difficult and embarrassing for you at the moment but you can tackle this issue of behaviour. Ask TAMBA for support and any other organisation that offers support to parents. It is a shame that your husband is not a hands on, proactive parent or he could also be a support to you.
I went to see the documentary 'Whitney - Can I Be Me' at The House of Vans in Waterloo with my daughter on Friday evening. I absolutely loved the film, it was really fascinating and intriguing and completely had me captivated. My daughter and I got free popcorn as well! :T
On Saturday my niece and her husband did a family event to celebrate and remember her Father and my brother George who died just over a year ago. It was a lovely, fun day for all of the children and adults alike which was held in a fenced off part of a local park and the integral building that was known as the hub. My grandson and 2 of my granddaughters were then, my eldest and younger son and my younger daughter. We all had such a lovely day out, it was not in any way a sad event. The sun was shining and everyone enjoyed themselves. :j
I had to take it so easy on Sunday, as I had pains in the muscles in my arms and legs and chest pains. I took it so easy and I am feeling a lot better today. I have a bit more energy today after such an eventful and enjoyable weekend.0 -
Lessons learned—have a go on one trip, if you like it great, if not sure you tried. Have a look on line for a specials and bargains. If you are stuck beside some boring just l;isten to some music or a podcast
Rubyslipper—I hope that you are able to get some rest when the little dudes sleep. While it must be very difficult with twins, at least they both will be progressing together and will be maturing together.
Welocome stylesavymom. Occasion wear can be found on offer in house of fraser and monsoon. But did you check out ebay, as a lot of people have items listed that are at amazing prices.
Sugarbaby I hope you find the cause of the recent chest pain and find the correct solution fast. I am glad you are keeping up with all the dancing
So today I am climbing back on the wagon of looking after my skin and self. It started out well with a trip to the hair dressers and well I was so disappointed, the senior stylist cut it and off loaded me to the junior, walking away without explaination and no small talk. The hair just looks like three day old unwashed dull and lifeless, I would have been better cutting it myself. So it was a total disaster and they were just rude when paying asking for the price of a colour when I did not have my hair coloured. It was a bit worrying to think I had to argue that I did not get my hair dyed to pay a bill. I was so annoyed I found the head office and basically complained about the bad service.
I feel bad for complaining but I feel cheated from that new haircut feeling and swishy hair. I initially thought it was not too bad but I am so annoyed as it does not look like the picture and just looks like a first week trainee hairdresser did the blow try and cut.0 -

Sounds like too much product was used, combined with not much experience. Hope you get some resolution from the head office - was it a national chain?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

:hello: Back from my holidays. Tanned and rested but definitely fatter than I was three weeks ago.:o
sukey's right SSM (if I may abbreviate). I could bore for England on SW I'm a real convert. I've been at target for almost 6 years and I love it.

There is a challenge if you want to commit but otherwise just lurk or ask questions. It's a lovely thread, very friendly and supportive (just like this one:D) and you'd be very welcome.
I had a great holiday very relaxing. I think lots of swimming in the sea was my favourite bit but also great company, fantastic weather, super food. We always have a sunshine holiday in the same resort at this time of the year and this was one of the best.
I've not logged on for three weeks so a bit out of touch but I did skim the last couple of pages.
Realised your clinic appointment is today sugarbaby so will be waiting to see yow you get on.
Shame it didn't work out with A indie but sounds like you're quite philosophical about it. Relationships are definitely not easy.:)
Without making light of your experience in Sainsbury's, I think perhaps you need to come shopping with me!:rotfl:I see men trailing around behind their wives looking fed up and I wonder why they ever go shopping together. I never take my DH as he just wants to buy chocolate biscuits! Worse still are the couples who seem to argue a lot.
More seriously, I have a friend who loves coach trips, in her case to Scotland but I think you need to be careful as some might feel like an old people's outing and that's just not you.
We've unpacked and the WM is on for the first load. I think I got most of my holiday wardrobe right although I could have done with some looser evening outfits for the third week as my waistline expanded!:D Today I must do a meal plan and a shop then I can get rid of the unwanted pounds.
Back soon.:)0 -
Good To have you back Maman. Glad you had a great holiday. Don't fret over a few lbs I'm sure you'll soon shed those again.
Sugarbaby...hope your clinic appt goes well. Thinking of you.
Welcome stylesavvymom. Great name.
Ruby.....glad you have found a nice little pre school. It's just what you need. Even a couple of hours break will be really good for you, just long enough for a quick hair cut or a little mooch round the shops and a quiet coffee by yourself. It will really ease the strain. Use the time just for you.....not doing housework or with running errands for your husband. It's your time, you have more than earned it.
Well ladies what can I say.......I am feeling so much better. I've put all the bad stuff behind me and I'm back to my usual cheerful optimistic self.
The healthy eating is going well, and my knee is a lot more comfortable thanks to industrial strength voltarol, glucosamine, and some gentle Physio stretching exercise. Still wearing my knee support but you can't see it under trousers, so no one is any the wiser. Still not able to walk very far and still need to sit and rest it but at least it's not holding me back now.
Today I have had my hair cut - a nice crop a la Judy Dench. I'm really pleased. It was getting very straggly and made me look tired and washed out.
Furniture Painting going well, undercoats all finished. Need to buy the top coat tomorrow and then I can motor on.
Other than that no real news. DS2 has half moved out. He loads up the car every time he visits and I am already noticing a difference as to how much extra space and storage I am going to have.
I am going through the kitchen sorting out things for him to take. . I can finally go for that streamlined minimalist look I have been craving. I have already managed to clear the kitchen worktops and windowsills of all the equipment, gadgets and bits and pieces. All those cleared surfaces make the kitchen look bigger and really bright and airy.
I love it.....and of course so much easier to keep clean. :rotfl:0 -
LL love the sound of your hair - I went from Goldie Hawn long locks to Jo Whiley jaw-length choppy cut on Saturday and absolutely love it2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Excuse my typical nosiness LL but I thought you were living with DD2 but in his house until you find your own. Does this mean you'll stay put or are you still looking for the bungalow? 😀0
