Was driving my "new" car the other day and listening to the radio, and was quite pleased with myself as its nicely modded mechanically to 270BHP and it was a nice run of songs on the radio - then reality kicked in as i realised irrespective of what the engine is, i was driving along in an old metallic red Volvo saloon and listening to radio 2. :o

I just need to wear a peaked cap while driving now....

    ..... and driving gloves.

Bonus points if you have a tartan blanket folded on the back seats and a couple of crocheted cushions on the parcel shelf.

Works best if you swap to a Rover. :D

  • As my three daughters blossomed into fabulous stunning gorgeous women and all the heads in the pub turned to look at them on entry, I was clearly invisible. Yeah, round about 50, I shrank into an old woman with aches and pains in all my joints. Absolute rubbish when people say stuff about youre as young as you feel. I look old and feel old! :( I think I can run across the road in seconds like a teenager, but in reality I am moving in slow motion and those cars are honking and beeping at me narrowly miss me being run over. I am old end of. My only blessing is both my parents are still alive and kicking, so I know what REALLY OLD is. Still I am looking for a pre paid funeral plan. :(

I'm 43 and don't feel old at all. Kids are 24, 23 + 18. And a grandaughter who's nearly 5. I think its her that keeps me feeling young :p
  • Can't believe I'll be 60 this year, it sounds old but I don't feel old!

67 and don't feel old. Still able to do circuit racing with my MG, still able to get under it and fix it. I'm no puritan either.

Someone asked me who the Backstreet Boys were earlier. I felt old saying they were the boyband of my youth :rotfl:

And someone else at work asked me what life was like before the internet. I tried to tell them tales of dial up and having to wait for your mum to get off the phone but they couldn't understand it.

I've just turned 35 and it is starting to happen already. Just from things like clothes shopping "I'm too old to wear that" - and why is so much cropped or cold shoulder or whatever now. I want proper clothes that cover!

Aww, you're a spring chook! I'm 46 and own several cold shoulder tops, as do some of my friends :D (Definitely not cropped though lol!)

  • I'm 61 and the oldest player in my women's football team. Training tonight, possibly in the sleet, and I really enjoy it, but I'm beginning to take ages to recover from knocks, and I'm slowing down a bit.:D

So yes, beginning to feel my age.. :-)
