That's not really on tbh. As above you are legally entitled to a break after 6 hours of at least 20 mins. I get some industries are very fast moving but even so, I hope your good nature isn't being taken advantage of.

    I love daffodils and tulips.

Thank you Cherryfudge, Lucielle,  SH, dawnybabes and Spendless.

The problem with Job 2 is that for most shifts I’m on my own in the part I work in, so there is no one to cover any break. There are usually 3 in the other part but they finish by 9.30. I did have a customer question this  practice because he thought it wasn’t safe  but that’s how it is.

Life remains very busy. I did get this Saturday free from Job 2 and tried to catch up with the garden. I have a good amount of tomato plants and have cucumber and courgettes coming on nicely. I need a few hours free to get peas and sweet peas into the ground!

Moneywise I’m bracing myself for a big car repair bill. Something isn’t sounding right at all so it’s been booked in for the last 3 weeks but the garage is so busy it hasn’t been seen yet. Thankfully DS2 has allowed me to use his car to get to Job 1 as this isn’t on a bus route.

Sadly  I suspect the customer is correct. Make sure you have your own safety procedures in place.

Fingers crossed re car. I'm in same position where I think something isn't right and have been putting off the phone call to get it looked at. My current  job isn't on a bus route either but fortunately it is walkable if necessary.

Glad you got a Saturday off to do things.

Glad DS2 is stepping up. Look after yourself. Hope the car bill isn't too bad.

    Thank you Janb5 and SH.

Have had a busy half term coupled with Job 2’s hours being slightly more crazy than usual with a colleague off on holiday and another poorly with the result that I’ve ended up averaging 4 shifts a week rather than 3. I know my limit really is 3. 4 shifts leaves me feeling wiped out. Thankfully they have recently recruited a new member of staff so that hopefully they can cover the times that we need an extra person!

I have a week off from Job 1 but in reality have a lot of paperwork to do so will be balancing that this week with spending time with those at home with me.

I have a list of jobs in my mind that I also need to do such as the ever present weeding, catching up on successive sowing and tackling the allotment.

Moneywise I feel that I am plodding. I have a few expenses coming up in June and July that I need to factor in. It’s almost a year since the mortgage went through so I am thrilled that it started on £148k and I’m now on £143k. Having had an interest only mortgage before with the ex, I am very thankful that the figures are going in the right direction instead of staying static.

Well done on the extra shifts. I do hope you manage to get some well deserved rest and some time doing things that make your heart sing.
