It always makes me smile that they want the money immediately, but whenever it comes to returning it, there's a delay xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Glad you've gone on a break. I don't think in the whole time of your diary you ever have, bar the odd night away for a particular occasion. Enjoy.
Hope the energy company returns some of the money soon.3 -

Thank you Lucielle, Willowtree222, Spendless and SH.
You’re right Spendless - apart from the odd night to take DD1 to uni, we haven’t been away for years…only possible now thanks to my brother’s hospitality.
Yesterday was lovely…my brother enjoys the outdoors as much if not more than me, so he took us on a 3 mile walk around his local area, taking in a triangulation point so we enjoyed amazing views. I’ve not explored this part of Britain at all and I was relieved to see that my brother, SIL and nephews have rural walks close by!! In the evening we went to the neighbouring city ( the youngest DDs had spent the afternoon shopping there with my SIL - an experience that they really enjoyed. Youngest DD had never been to such a huge city centre and loved it !) to have a meal together. We ate at a Korean restaurant which was an absolute education in itself! I was amazed by DS3’s willingness to try new foods and by youngest DD who took charge of the grilling on our table!
It has been good to have a restful day. At home, when I’m not working, I’m always on the go with housework, cooking or gardening so it has been a real treat to simply sit and chat and not have to do anything!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

That sounds like such a good day! I've never tried Korean food but it sounds as though that might be something that happens again in your household.
It's lovely too that your children are getting to spend time with wider family and you can just let them get on with it while you relax!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you Cherryfudge &Lucielle.
Today has been another relaxing day. We all went to church together and enjoyed a Sunday roast afterwards. My brother and SIL wouldn’t let me help at all so I read or chatted! The afternoon was filled with croquet, which I haven’t played since childhood, but instantly took me in my memory to my grandparents garden and happy memories of playing with them. A 3 hour game of Monopoly followed, which was equally enjoyable and memory invoking. So funny to play against my nephew where in the past it was my brother!!
A wonderful weekend all in all. Chance to spend time with my brother, SIL, nephews and parents as well as my younger children…priceless!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

It sounds glorious! I love family days (we had one today): they are to be treasured. Hopefully you will be able to repeat it at some point. Are you home now?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I was owed a huge surplus by Octopus. Complained about the ` 7 - 10 working days` malarkey and got my money sooner. Despite the fact their own staff suggested leaving funds in the account and confirming the amount withdrawn was fine, they then announced three weeks later that my regular payments were too low!
Another complaint followed- ! I do agree there seems to be no valid reason for such tardy refunds.3
