Was it low pressure? Ours does that from time to time (I've no idea why) and yes you have to fiddle around with it. If it's the same you should have hot water and heating not long afterwards.
Does the wing mirror need replacing or just a scrape you can live with?
Don't think I've ever had a lemon doughnut - sounds delicious.2 -
Thank you Spendless.
I think it must have been the low pressure that caused the system to stop. Thankfully the water and radiators are hot now so at least I’ll know what to do if that happens in future.
The wing mirror will need replacing as it is pretty cracked all over and the shell of the wing mirror has broken too leaving electrics exposed, so managing with duct tape for the minute until I can get sorted with the garage.
Disconcerted to realise the the ex has been here today in my absence at work. DD3 was here which I don’t think he’d anticipated because she would usually be at work. I need to contact the solicitor again to get advice going forwards. He has absolute no need or right to come here at all. DD3 tried to talk reason and then locked herself in the house.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Hmm. Have you changed the locks?
Perhaps a call to the police? I don't know what you could do.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x1 -
Jeez! I believed those days were over. I can't see what his reasoning was for coming over, you're divorced now, the house has been signed over to you. The children under 18 that he would visit would be at school I assume (if you were at work) and he clearly thought the place was empty. Has all his stuff now gone from the garden? Have you still got cameras up? Good that DD3 was there and has her head screwed on ok. Yep call to solicitors about it is the right step forward.
ETA - I meant to say can you think of anything that might have triggered the latest visit?1 -
Ohhhh, that's not right. Time for a surveillance camera, if there's not already one. Perhaps report it to the police as well, even just getting them to log it in case there's a pattern to come.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you Willowtree222, Spendless and Cherryfudge,
I too had thought that days of the ex coming when I’m at work were over. There is no reason for him to set foot here. He clearly thought that we would all be out ( and also did it when the 2 that live with him were also at work and wouldn’t know) but unfortunately for him, DD3 is on a different week work wise this week. The only trigger I can think of is that I had started to empty the shed, so that we can use it as storage and a place for DD4 to do homework ( art and DT).
Just don’t like the sense of stomach churning and panic I feel, knowing that the ex is at my home and I can’t do anything when I’m at work.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

That is unsettling to know your ex has been there. Well done to DD3 for dealing with it though. I assume she didn’t let him in? I think when you can afford it one of this ring doorbells with cameras on might be a good idea.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Did he tell DD why he was there? If this continues could you get an injunction/court order to stop him from doing this. Also keep a diary as well.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Do you know how ex would know that you were emptying the shed? I agree that that's a possible trigger, either general nosiness to see what was/had been in there, wanting to see if anything that was 'his' was still there or just to let you know he can still control you 'I know what you're doing'.
I'd re-instate/repair any of the previous security measures you fetched in and speak to your solicitor. He hasn't got access to any of your door keys has he? I'm aware that's been an issue in the past.1
