I think it's a great new word too! It must be so rewarding seeing the numbers switch sides.

SA- I did look once at trying to transfer the window loans to a personal loan and looked on the credit club. There was a provider that initially advertised a low interest rate but by the time I’d got through the application form the best rate they could give me was higher so that put me off somewhat. Having written out a step by step plan for the first window loan, I am determined to get it cleared by March 1st and then focus the payments I usually make to the first window onto the second window loan to clear that ASAP.
Today has been more of a work focused one, so planning is almost done. It looks like I’ll need to go to work tomorrow to get a few bits and pieces prepped for the new term. It’s just as well that my boss from job no 2 had already decided to close and to furlough staff because moving tiers today would have forced closure anyway. Shocking that we have moved 2 tiers higher in a couple of weeks. 😩
I did get DD3 out for a driving session but had the weirdest thing happen. I drove out to a set of lanes on the moor that are ideal for practising clutch control and changing gear. As I approached the turn off to the moor I noticed a Fire car following me. I inadvertently missed the turn off to the lanes I wanted, so turned left...and the Fire car followed. I drove along taking the next 2 lefts at the next 2 junctions effectively taking me in a big circle. Unnervingly the Fire car followed my every turn. I find it hard to believe that the Fire car took a wrong turn in quite the same lanes as us. When we got back onto the main road, it followed us for a while and then sped off. Really odd !paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Sounds really bizarre. Glad you got home safely. I sympathise on high interest rates - we paid them for years before we knew different. Thankfully now we are lucky enough to get good rates.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

How strange! Perhaps they were lost and hoping you would lead them back to civilisation?

Thank you SH and Cherryfudge.
Another poor night’s sleep 🙁. I’ve had a run of about 10 nights of broken sleep where I seem to be able to sleep for a couple of hours then I’m wide awake for 3 or 4 hours before sleep hits again. This morning I woke at 8 but need to get my sleep sorted for next week as I’ll be back to the 5.30 alarm call!
I did check my bank balance in the early hours. My window loan direct debits have gone out so that’s another £40 less I owe🙂. I’ve manually made payments so £92 has been paid off debts this morning. I’m hoping I can increase that figure when DS1 pays me his council tax contribution.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Morning HSL
Without sounding like your Mum, I just wanted to give you a virtual hug. Your friends on here may be virtual but we are real nonetheless and all of us are amazed at what you achieve with your family even when the Fates are against you.
You`re still waiting for closure on the divorce etc, juggling debts, your lovely children so it aint surprising that Madam Sleep gets short shrift.
It will get better slowly and surely. The insomnia is a blip - a symptom and not the cause.
Please don`t get disheartened - you`re doing a grand job..
Happy New Year.x
