Well today is my first day of eating healthy. Not actually joining till this evening, but as it's my first day back at work, I am ready to start mentally.

Not got the plan and all the info yet, so just going for sensible and healthy today, and kind of working on what I knew was okay when I last did slimming world 5 years ago. If anyone can help me with todays HexA, HexB and syns please do.

Breakfast - Fat free yogurt, 1dsp lemon curd, 1/2 cup grape nut, banana
Lunch - Wrap with extra light Phillapelphia, chicken, lettuce, cucumber, tbsp. crumbled Wensleydale, an orange, grapes
Dinner - Chicken, noodles, stir fry veg, 1/2 sachet sweet chilli sauce
Snacks - Carrot, cucumber, tomatoes, 1tbsp low fat blue cheese dressing, skimmed milk in my coffee.

  • Hello all - making my new year's resolution to try and post my menus as much as possible...soooo...

B: ML mandarin yog and a granny smith apple
L: HM SW quiche (with red onions, peppers, cherry toms and bacon medallions - eggs, fat free cottage cheese - which I whizzed up in the nurtibullet cos I hate the texture of cottage cheese - and 4 people's HEa cheddar cheese allowance as it's going into 4 portions for DH's and my lunch today and tomorrow)...with a side salad and a baked potato - a tiny one!
D: Baked salmon with roasted red pepper sauce, cauliflower, green beans and maybe baby boils

I've a HEb to put in there somewhere or other - not sure what as I've already used my HEa - hence black and herbal tea all day...I've also brought sliced up lemon to put in my water bottle.

    Not sure of syns
  • Hi Is it too late to join in with a target of 7lbs?

I am going back to a group as soon as I can - realistically it will be next Thursday. I have tried online but it doesn't work for me - I need face to face support as well as a community support.

I need to start back to planning my meals, not leaving it until I'm really hungry then filling up on whatever is quick and easy (usually lots of bread). This year I will plan meals in good time.
    Grocery challenge 2017 January £158.74/£200
    Grocery challenge February £100.91/£190
  • forgot to post a goal for the challenge.

I want to be at target in 15 weeks and have 2st to lose base don last Thursdays weigh in so will need to average just shy of 2lb a week so I want to really try this challenge for 14lb . I never seem to do very well at the moment ending recent challenges with either a miniscule loss or even a gain :( however I want to be at target for a weekend in London OH and I have planned (got boxing tickets for 29th April at Wembley) and I have a total knockout target outfit planned for that day (will be overdressed but heck I'll feel like a celeb ha)

going to plan a whole month's worth of food for me in the coming weeks for the last week of Jan and all of Feb. Got to get through the next three weeks on minimal budget but I have lots of fish and veggies at home so no real excuses not to be on it. no budget to buy meals in so that will curb that. will only have a small budget for milk/ham/veggies so plan to get to the end of this week then buy a lettuce and some tomatoes and apples.

the next rugby tournament is towards the end of Feb in Wallsall. no facilities at the hotel or the venue (bar a caf!) I'm thinking of taking mugshots and littlie has started loving noodles too and also fruit. I'm thinking apples, bananas, satsumas, malt loaf for hubs (will also buy him sandwiches), crisps for hubs and littlie, NAS squash to drink and the mugshots. there will be 2 evening meals out (not sure where as not much close to hotel) breakfasts will be hard so need to figure that out too

Well done for getting started Kathryn. You're fine with your HEB as 40g of Grape Nuts so depending on the cup size (??) that's OK. Lemon curd varies with brands but say 1 syn for a tsp. You can split your HEA but syns online tend to go for grams rather than tbsps. so you'll have to judge or weigh/measure to find out. The Philly is 110g for a HEA or 1 syn for 25g. Wensleydale isn't an official HEA but basing it on cheddar it's 30g for a HEA or 5 syns for 25g. Skimmed milk is 350 mls for a HEA or 2 syns for 100ml. The blue cheese dressing is 3.5 syns per tbsp. and the chilli sauce is about 5 for half a pack but it varies with brand a little.

Good to be getting back to normal a bit today and good to see new and 'old' faces.:)

ilovetea, I almost never eat yogurt either. It's not so much the taste but the sloppy consistency I don't like. I can make an exception for 0% Total as that's thick but I only use it as a substitute for cream with soft fruit so rarely. It's very possible to do SW without yogurt! :D

summerlady, I'd say that planning (along with Speed:D) is the most important feature of SW. There's nothing wrong with grabbing stuff when you're hungry. The secret is to buy in SW friendly stuff to grab! I like to have cold meats and pickles (cornichons and beetroot) to hand, some people keep hard boiled eggs or cold sausages in the fridge. Then there's fruit....;)

You sound super organised as ever lush:T, already planning what to eat at the tournament in February. I expect having breakfast at work gives you a bit of much needed time to yourself so that's not a bad thing getting there early.

Today's EE plan (although just noticed lunch and breakfast are SP):
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 fried eggs, slice ham, mushrooms, HEA milk for drinks
L: LO cottage pie and veg
D:baked salmon, SW chips, mushrooms, green stuff (broccoli, asparagus, mange tout, peas).
    Syns: NONE!
