Well done for getting started Kathryn. You're fine with your HEB as 40g of Grape Nuts so depending on the cup size (??) that's OK. Lemon curd varies with brands but say 1 syn for a tsp. You can split your HEA but syns online tend to go for grams rather than tbsps. so you'll have to judge or weigh/measure to find out. The Philly is 110g for a HEA or 1 syn for 25g. Wensleydale isn't an official HEA but basing it on cheddar it's 30g for a HEA or 5 syns for 25g. Skimmed milk is 350 mls for a HEA or 2 syns for 100ml. The blue cheese dressing is 3.5 syns per tbsp. and the chilli sauce is about 5 for half a pack but it varies with brand a little.
HTH
Thank you Maman, that's brilliant.
That doesn't sound too bad for the syns, although the blue cheese dressing and chilli sauce are higher than I think I am willing to use on them in the future. I knew they would both probably have to go anyway.
What do people suggest for dipping carrot and cucumber sticks in to make them taste nicer? How does humus fit on the plan?
Also what sauces do people add to stir fries? I'm guessing making one from scratch is best?
I am desperate to get registered tonight and have a good read of what is allowed.Zebras rock0 -
You sound super organised as ever lush:T, already planning what to eat at the tournament in February. I expect having breakfast at work gives you a bit of much needed time to yourself so that's not a bad thing getting there early.
decided that 2017 is the year 'of me, for me, by me' so if I want something I'm going to work for it. I managed to lose and maintain for almost a year before littlie came along so no idea why I've not had a better run this time!
yeah - I was in an hour early today - the porridge had gone a bit too solid so I think Friday I may just bring it ready to go in the microwave then I'll nip up to the kitchen and bing it. I'll make some baked omelettes tonight for breakfast tomorrow (littlie with mil tomorrow and I have an event thursday so can't eat porridge) next week I will buy a tin of rhubarb and syn that in to baked oats
I find if I make a plan in advance and decide it's final I'm more likely to stick to it. We've been to the venue before and there was literally nothing within a reasonable walking distance and though I'm on OH's insurance I daren't drive his tank just yet! I'll decide then just buy those bits and nothing more.
I'm desperate to be at target by our weekend away in April as at that weight I just felt so much better about everything and I can't wait to be that person again rather than this weird half confident half not I am now.************************************

Ho hum. Xmas decs came down yesterday (only seemed like 5 mins ago we were putting them up
).
Hope everyone had a great xmas and New Year.
I'm looking forward to getting back on track. I'd like to aim for 10 pounds (sorry can't seem to make red) (which will take me under the next stone level - assuming I don't put any on).
I was determined to meal plan (for January) over the xmas hols. Didn't quite happen.
I've decided to be a bit more determined with running this year so if anyone has any ideas for meals that take less than 15 meals to prep but are filling and yummy (but synfree) for those busy nights when I'm running after work then please share.. I've decided that Sunday, I'll batch cook so I'll have something I can just re-heat on the busy nights but I don't have any room in my freezer at the moment which doesn't help.
Hope everyone is surviving the first day back to normality.0 -
Hi everyone and happy new year! I totally lost the plot towards the end of last year and finished 2016 heavier than I started it, despite claiming to be following SW all year! I'm now heavier than ever actually (13:4) but I had a lot going on emotionally last year so I'm not going to beat myself up about it. New year, new start.
Aiming to lose 11lb by the end of Feb please Shala, that'll make me 12:7.
Today is my first day back on plan, my poor insides were crying out for a vegetable or two!
B - Apple and grapes (forgot they aren't Speed!) with FF natural yoghurt and passionfruit coulis (1 Syn)
D - Mushroom and tomato omelette with baked beans
T - SW Pork and Veg Ragu from the freezer (1 Syn) with boiled potatoes because I just really fancy some rather than rice or whatever.
HEA - Milk in coffee
HEB - 5 walnut halves
Syns - as above (2), sugar in coffee (4), Options hot choc before bed (2) = 8
I also ran 3.5 miles this morning :A
Kathrynha - I use soy sauce on stir fries (free) but I've just looked in the fridge and I have Kikkoman Rich Hoisin sauce and Teriyaki sauce - I definitely bought these while doing SW but can't find Syns for them nowWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Welcome to the thread to all the new people.
It'll be an EE day today:
B - scrambled eggs on toast
L - LO carrot & lentil soup
D - chicken tagine; couscous with herbs & pomegranate seeds
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - semi dried apricots & sultanas in tagine - will work out syns once I've decided how many I'm putting in!

Hi all
Welcome to all the new people, I hope you all stay with you us and have great first weeks.
One of the things I like about going to group is welcoming new people and then seeing how well they do (and how surprised they are) after their first week, because they often have good losses of 4 or 5 pounds, but sometimes it's 7 or 8 and they can't believe it.What do people suggest for dipping carrot and cucumber sticks in to make them taste nicer? How does humus fit on the plan?
Also what sauces do people add to stir fries? I'm guessing making one from scratch is best?

Humus is quite high in Syns as it has oil in it but you can make a SW version of it by pureeing chick peas and adding other ingredients - here's a link. Don't worry about the reference to the green plan, that's the old SW plan.
I make stir fry sauce by throwing a few things in a jug and adding 1tsp of cornflour - soy sauce, oyster sauce, sherry vinegar, rice wine vinegar, honey - all syn free except the honey which is 1 syn per tsp I think.
So far today I've had a SW brunch - bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomato and beans - and dinner is going to be chicken, rice and beans from this recipe which is tasty, very easy and only takes about half an hour. No alcohol again and no Syns planned either. Yesterday I synned 2 ryvita, a laughing cow and a tiny piece of blue cheese and I might have the same later but count it as my Heb as I haven't had one today.

Hi again everyone and a belated Happy New Year!
Welcome to the newcomers :hello:
So I fell off the SW wagon big time last month (or was it the month before I can't remember) so as a result I'm feeling horrid and the size of a house so I'm hoping to get back into a routine this week. I wouldn't like to guess at what I've gained weight-wise but I'm now bursting out of my current jeans and really don't want to be buying a size up as it's a very slippery slope
I won't join in the challenge this time as I tend to beat myself up a bit too much if I'm not doing as well as I thought I might, so I figure if I'm not aiming for a target I might do better (it sort of makes sense in my messed up head)
I'll be joining you all properly on Thursday after getting rid of the NY prosecco, wine and cheese currently lurking in my fridge0 -
Anyone watching How to Lose Weight Well on C4 at 8pm? I think I will just to remind myself how sensible SW is!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Think I will have to have a go at homemade humus at some point, cos I do like it lots.
Also been inspired to swap tonights chilli sauce for a home made stir fry sauce. Not got everything that people have suggested in, but I've mixed soy sauce, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and a little lemon juice, and it smells lush, hopefully it will taste the same.Zebras rock0
