  • Here's my menu for today & yesterday (my first 2 days on plan):

    Mon:
Breakfast: 4 rashers grilled bacon & half beef tomato
Lunch: homemade spicy chicken soup (chicken, peppers, tomatoes, chilli pepper, onions, stock)
Dinner: chicken breast with tbsp Nandos marinade (guessing 2 syns?), roasted sweet potato chunks in fry light, salad without dressing, red onions, tomatoes, peppers
Snacks: 2 babybels HEA, 6 Finn crisp HEB, 2 laughing cow light (syns 2 each?)

    Tues:
    Breakfast: 4 rashers grilled bacon
Lunch: pizza made with warburtons flat square wrap, passata, peppers, onions, tomatoes, cheese HEA, piled high with salad leaves, peppers and red onion - no dressing
Dinner: SW bolognese meat sauce served with roasted sweet potato chunks in fry light
    Snacks: 2 babybels (6 syns?)

I'll probably have 6 Finn crisps HEB this evening with 2 laughing cow triangles (4 syns?)

Can anyone advise me on how it all looks and whether I have my syn values correct please?

    Thanks :)

Your pizza this dinner - pretty sure warbutons square wraps are not a hxb, think they are about 8 syns, so just make sure you include this (if not done so already)

  • Thanks - I did know they were syns but not sure how much. I only had half of it though - the other half is in the freezer for another day! Really appreciate the help, thanks.

That looks like a good menu lurker. I'm assuming it's a free couscous and that you had enough milk for teas and with your Shreddies. In any event you have some spare syns. I understand if you have granola bars to eat up but you could have Alpen light or Aldi own brand for 3 syns each.

Do post your menus for as long as you want. Lots of us do it every day. I do it as a sort of food diary and it helps me stay on plan.

Thanks Maman, this is a real help though I promise at the weekend I'll read the books properly. The couscous was Ainsley Harriot tomato one so needs to be synned :( looking at it I think it's about 3 for the packet so 1.5 as I had half today and half tomorrow (not a lot of variety in my diet.

I should have enough milk as I eat Shreddies dry :o I don't get time to eat breakfast before I leave so have them when I get to work.

The Granola bars I need to use up but won't be buying again! Didn't have one in the end today as I wanted to make sure I was under on the syns then, if I do have any left at the end of the week, I can then decide how to use them.

Out of interest what do people do for lunches where there are no facilities to heat anything up?

    Thanks everyone
  • Today I've had:

Brunch: Bacon, egg, sw chips and beans (all free)

Dinner: Turkey, sw roast potatoes, peas, yorkshire puddings and gravy (8.5 syns)

Supper: Shreddies with sugar (HEA and HEB and 1.5 syns)

I re-joined last night and was pleasantly surprised to discover I had not gained all of the weight I had lost last year. I have 2st 2.5lb to loose to get to target, but this month I would like to try and lose 7lb please ...... If I stick to this properly then it shouldnt be a problem.

Jumping straight back into body magic too and have done 45 minute fast walking with the dog to kick start my bum into gear!

Evening all... lots of new faces

Just got in from work again :( 24 hours work in two days is not fun and not good for leaving time to prep food plans for SW!

Of course you can come back Counting Pennies, good to see you! and welcome back to all the other returnees too, it's great to see you all x
Anyone watching How to Lose Weight Well on C4 at 8pm? I think I will just to remind myself how sensible SW is!

Lantanna - i'm interested in your challenge 2017 miles in 2017.. 5 miles a day is about 10k steps isn't it? How are you monitoring yourself/keeping track of your total? I've only done 1.5 miles today :o need to get my butt moving this year though.

Anyway onto business I've grabbed everyone's targets, how's everyone getting along? :D Here's the list check you're on it and I've picked up the right target for you and if not give me a shout.. we've pledged nearly 20 stone in total

Can't help you with the Nandos marinade, but you can have 5 laughing cow triangles as an Heb which is worth 6 Syns so I would count them as 1 syn each. You're right about the babybels as 2 of them is an Heb.

Hi all, another noob who would like to join you please! :hello:

(BTW I just wrote a big post that for some reason got lost so sorry if it magically reappears and I end up repeating myself)

I am not new to SW, in fact I lost 5 stone on it previously. Then I dropped it because of various health and life issues. Now I am coming back, not so much because I want to lose more weight, but because I want to stop my disordered eating and start eating regularly and nutritiously again. I just weighed myself for the first time since dropping SW, and I weigh exactly the same (12 stone exactly) as I did last time I weighed myself. I am not congratulating myself on that though, because I eat junk half the time and don't eat at all the rest of the time. Which I know is terrible for my health...

So I am not setting a weight loss target, but I have just started a new medication that can cause weight gain, and it would be nice not to put any on. Though as I say, weight loss is not the primary issue and in fact I don't intend to weigh myself more than once per month.

Anyway, hello to all, and good luck to all in 2017!
  • Please may I join too?

    I'll go for 7lb please
  • I'm thinking 7lb

    Today's menu
Breakie : Quaker Oat Big bowl of Porridge (hxb) with handful of fresh raspberries
hxa - skimmed milk allowance which made the porridge and served with a couple of dashes for coffee
Lunch : Baked Mushrooms 2 flat mushrooms oven baked topped with some diced red onion, half chopped cherry tomatoes ...and sausage meat, topped with reduced fat bacon medallions
Dinner : SW Paella meal, half of a small watermelon for afters.

Messed up the syns as I'm 4 over what I'd like to be with the blessed sausages I used rather then Heck's. :o Will try better another day.

60 minutes of exercise... Walk off to get a bottle of pop which is free and my favourite 7up Mojito flavour
