Kathryn is my daughter’s middle name, just because we liked it. She was 40 this year, kathrynha, but we don’t know any others (in any variant) at all! She is called Lindsey and that is rarely spelled correctly either, candyapple. Add our unusual surname, easily spelled but no one will believe it and give us Docker, Docherty or cross out Mr/Mrs. Can you work out what it is?
Oh pension ages – that’s a sore one. My friend is one month older than me and she got her state pension almost a year earlier! To say I was peeved is putting it mildly!
Hello, Squiggly Diddly.
I think I’ve missed my losers today - well done all of you.
Do you just have to rest, beanie, or is there something to help?
Well, I planned to be on plan, but I had a sudden need to have something sweet, chocolate specifically. Very occasionally I just have to give in as I get light headed and shaky, just need a sugar fix. So I went rooting for something. And I found something – 285g bag of Thorntons fudge from Christmas gift. So I ate it – all of it. Oops. But I felt better afterwards. Until I realised that I’d just wolfed down about 75 syns!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Wednesday (not counting aforementioned medicinal fudge)
Breakfast: banana
Snack: 2 digestive biscuits & lemon curd (8)
Lunch: beans on hexb toast
Dinner: roast beef, potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, gravy (2), Light & Free mango yogurt
Snack: hexa cheese & grapes
Total: 85 (that leaves less than -10, that is less than minus 10, for the rest of the week; I may have to eat one of my legs, but I’m not sure that it’d be sufficient to compensate for the weight gain I’ll have)
Night all and don’t do as I do, do as I say –“Make it a good day!”
Good Morning
 Sorry but I am sat here :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: at the 75 syns but I bet it tasted delish0 -
Oh no Beanie ,
Get plenty of rest.
Thanks for the wise words Greentiger , yes I do care about them a lot. I was mad last night . Had told Dad to get breaded fish out of the freezer and put them in the oven, I wasn't going to have tea there but would "swing by for 5 mins".
I get there expecting them to be eating their fish or for the fish at least to be in the oven. Asked Dad where it was and he says oh your mums not hungry and I'm just having a tin of soup.:mad:
He doesn't get it you don't ask, you just cook it and then she will eat it.
So I dug an M&S Ready meal out of the freezer for her and of course she ate it.
Did anybody watch Superslimmers Where are they now? It was very qood if a little sad, certainly gave me thoughts to think about.
Yes I watched it but wasn't happy at how soon they lost all the weight . If I ate 500 calories a day I think after a couple days I would be poorly cant be good for you0 -

Have done SW before and then life got busy and I lost the plot but am fed up of being a short fat dumpling so need to get my head round it. One of my daughters is doing it so we just need to organise ourselves...
Hello fellow Kathryn :hello: I'm getting a tad spooked now by how many there are of us with the same spellingI'll be 40 at the end of next year which sounds a bit scary cos in my head I'm still about 19. Organisation is definitely the key to SW success especially where planning food ahead is concerned. Hopefully you and your daughter can spur each other on. And of course our lovely group here will give you tons of support.

I recorded it and watched it last night. It half made me think oh well there's no point in losing the weight if they reckon 90% put all the weight back on and more. But the stubborn half of me wants to prove programmes like that wrong. My MIL lost weight with WW about 30 years ago and has kept it off though so it is possible. I can't imagine being the size I was again so it makes me even more determined to get to target and stay there. Got my positive head on this week
Today I need to do a top up shop as we are low on veg and I've got some mince in the freezer which I've just realised is past its BB date and is looking a bit grey so need to replace that
Today's food plan:
B - overnight oats made with muller light and a banana, cuppa
L - leek & red onion crustless quiche with salad
T - chicken korma made with sharwoods jar of sauce (6 syns for my bit), cous cous and veg
Other syns to be decided later
Happy Thursday everyone xx0 -
Tete en l'Air Lucy is my middle name!
After my mum tried to call me Robert (until she was told I was a girl lol) she then wanted Lucinda but my dad said no so I got Lucy as a middle name instead
Weigh in day for me, usually go to an evening session but popped by one this morning instead (I actually weigh the same morning and pm on a Thursday so don't feel like I'm totally cheating...) but I did get +3 *cough* that may or may not be because I had something like 180 syns last weekend.... So I'm totally find with that it was deserved, I don't mind a deserved gain. I just get annoyed that my mum can have a bad weekend it'll read on the scales on the Monday but she can lose it again by the Thursday, but I just don't get that, like my first week was perfect! I lost half a poundit all seems to catch up a week late for me. Makes it hard going
I missed the Super slimmers program! I was hoping to catch that, I guess that's the thing that's why they call it a lifestyle change and not a diet... It's amazing how much my mums tastes have changed since doing it, mine haven't because I have more naughty days haha. But she now eats loads of veg she didn't used to like, and doesn't really like sweet things that much now. She finds them TOO sweet.
Anyway I'm having a bit of a naughty day a sort of final fling because my sister has promised to do slimming world again once she's handed in her assignments. The plan is ....
Breakfast - apple, yogurt and biscoff spread - 4.5 syns (I discovered biscoff is less syns than butter so apple and biscoff is technically better than toast!)
Lunch - the naughty bit were off to an ice cream parlour. If i'm feeling good fruit and ice cream - 11 syns ish... or if I'm bad it'll be a waffle and ice cream about 22 synsonly time will tell...
Dinner - Cottage pie mince and jacket potato... mum accidentally put butter and milk in all the mash so I have a cottage pie with no lid lol
HE A - Milk
HE B - HiFi probably or weetabix if I'm hungry...I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....0 -

Regaining weight! Depends on the individual doesn't it? I've kept the weight off for 10 years, I don't exercise and I stuff my face (think binge is the word I'm looking for :rotfl:). It is about lifestyle change and portion control for me. If I have gain (fully expecting one this week) I cut back the syns and hope for the best. Usually works
.
Not having a good week so far! Hubby still away but should be back tonight. I really need him to be as it's a bad day for us. My son gained his angel wings 32 years ago today and I'm struggling without hubbyIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Greentiger sorry but I couldn't help laughing at your medicinal fudge @ 75 syns:rotfl:. I can be a bit like that with wine, LOL! as I was this week.
No idea how but I actually lost 1.5lb today but no doubt it'll catch up with me next week so need to try and stay on plan better this week!
Today's plan:
B - grapes & strawberries - after WI
L - chicken sandwich, pickled onions, syn free onion chutney
D - cauliflower cheese, chips - 4 syns
Syns - cheese sauce 4
Trying to save some syns for the weekend wine!

Yeah there was some scientific evidence too about how peoples metabolisms slow down etc when they are losing weight and then your body almost gets into a fight with itself trying not to lose weight and regain weight. I felt so sad for the man from the biggest loser. Lots and lots of reasons for weight regain I guess, physical and psychological.
Personally and its just my opinion if your prone to putting on weight you'll always find your weight a battle and can never take your eye off the ball with it. You'll gain easily and very much feel a difference to naturally slim people. I know I'll always be fighting to be slim or stay slim.
Anyway lots of fabulous maintainers on this thread who do ever so well! :T
Have night off tonight from the cooking - mum has just rang and said have a night off. Hooray! So the gym awaits me and then home for a little tidy up and then a few gins which I never had last night.
Saturday is a night off too as friends are taking them to see a show - Mothers first trip out of the house properly! Her friend used to be a nurse so she will be in good hands!
So I'm getting my nails done, going to gym, making myself something nice for dinner and sitting down to watch everything I've recorded over the last few weeks with my gin. Talking to nobody and having an excellent time lol. Cannot wait!!!!! Dear help anybody interrupts me lol.0 -

That's a very good point! I remember in my first year of uni ( I studied psychology and sociology so not at all related to either so I'm not sure why we were looking at ithaha), we had to look at a piece of research which basically said once your body has created a fat thing... I want to say cell but I'm sure that's not right.... it will always be there, it can't get rid of it. It's just whether it's small or big that changes. And once they are there it's easier for them to get bigger again. I remember them illustrating it with balloons, saying the body creates them then fills them up with fat the way we would blow up a balloon, as we lose weight they shrink but we are still left with the empty balloon ready to be refilled. Where as someone whose body has never created them has to create them before they can fill them.
I hope that makes sense, it has been nearly 10 years since I watched the thing lol!
Oh by the way I went for the waffles... OOPS! but they were good... I'm counting it as 26 syns for today. Not too horrific considering the niceness
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

makes total sense, I've heard that before as well about once the fat cells are created they don't go away just shrink.
Change of plan now - decided to take tomorrow off.
Looking forward to a bit of relaxing. Being really naughty and not telling my parents I'm off!!!0 -

Oh my god is that true?! That's terrifying! And a good incentive not to put on weight in the first place (too late for the likes of us!)
Hello fellow Lucy (my dad's name was Robert, and I too was assumed to be a boy, though I was going to be James).
Hugs to you TIE xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0
