Long time since I last posted
Seems pointless now tho as I've moved out, my flat is tidy and clutter free and when I joined this it was primarily for my parents place :rotfl:
There has been a bit of to-ing and fro-ing of items between mine and my parents.
Oh and I managed to sell my old soda stream machine the other day
I also took a bag of clothes to the charity shop. This particular bin bag was one I brought down to the flat with the many others thinking it was some of our stuff and I had earmarked it to sort out. I looked in it as it was the last one and it was just a load of old clothes of my mums and my brothers! :rotfl:
I think the reason that happened was as we were packing to move, we were sorting out our stuff, which was provoking my mum and my brother and his fianc!e to have a sort out, and EVERYTHING - even our possessions to go to the flat - ended up in black bags.
I reckon I got this bag and another muddled up as I've lost some pillowcases. They must have been in the other bag that has most probably ended up at the tip/charity shop
Mum was given a load of old branded body creams etc from a friend, but my mum will never use any of it so I liberated it from herI've been slowly making my way through it all.

Oooooohhhh, lovely to hear from you gemmajenkins0208 :j.Do keep intouch with us-I love hearing your adventures. Is this the first time you have moved out of home/got your own place. It all sounds very exciting.:j:j.
I had an unexpected day off today (11yo daughter not feeling well).I used the opportunity to tidy up "little messes" around the house-a box of random stuff here,a pile to go to the loft there,a bag of stuff leftover from decluttering earlier this week........
At the same time, daughter was tinkering around in here room-think she was re-discovering all sorts of treasures.Anyway, working on and off throughout the day,bey bed-time,she had gone through all here cupboards and Ikea trofast boxes, decluttering and tidying.Wish I can keep her home every day to help me out.
Out of the house today:
Binned:
2624-2625:2 boxes of random bits sorted through-(some stuff set aside for donation,) other stuff binned
2626:child's broken umbrella
Recycled:
2627:pair of my partner's old shoes
2628:jam jar (jam very out of date,so thrown out,jar recycled)
Out of the loft:
1157-1159:3 paintbrushes,given to partner to put in his [STRIKE]room of doom[/STRIKE] man-cave
Binned:
1160:bundle of used,non-recyclable Christmas wrapping paper
1161:3D Christmas gift-tag
Rexcycled:
1162:old wrapping paper
1163-1165:3 gift bagsSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Thank you Saver-upper
Yes, this is my first place of my own, and the first time I have moved into a place with a partner
We've been together 4 years so it was about time :rotfl:
I keep on top of things here really well, I clean/tidy as I go, rather than doing it all in a big whack at the weekend or whatnot. I can't stand mess haha so I think that's why I do it that way.
We only have enough crockery/cutlery etc for the 2 of us so if I left the dishes we'd have nothing to eat with! :rotfl:
I have been checking in every so often and you have been going absolutely amazingly! You'll have nothing left in a minute! :rotfl:
I forgot to mention in my previous post I have 3 things up for sale on fb selling sites. I've noticed they are just not getting used so I may as well try and shift them to free up the space and earn a little extra cash to help with Christmas0 -
I've had the misfortune to be visited by a house mouse. The chaos and damage that one small mouse has caused during 1 week has to be seen to be believed, and I could have wept at the amount of food that I had to throw away - over £100 is a conservative guess.
But every cloud has its silver lining. I had to empty and disinfect 5 cupboards including two larder cupboards, throwing out things as I went, out of date/broken/no longer required as well as all the stuff that honked of mouse. Cupboards are now the cleanest and emptiest that I remember seeing them in the past twenty-odd years.
(Mouse came to an abrupt end due to a trap and a piece of chocolate. No other signs or sounds of his friends and relations have been seen, and holes found under the bath have now been blocked up. Fingers crossed they will will stay away! And that I can use more orthodox reasons to clear cupboards in the future.)Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

I’m still battering on. This house has thrown up a few surprises including the boiler needing replacement so that’s been taking up all my headspace (and cash). Meanwhile I’m treating the ongoing declutter as practice got the real thing in 2018 when I will reduce the number of things in my home by 2018!!!
Gone:
Kitchen roll holder
Shower caddy
Ugly mat
5 sweaters I used to wear to work. Too small now.
Heavy wall plaque
6 cookbooks I never use
(Above all gone to charity shop)
Large box of cardboard
2 sacks of rubbish
Broken cupboard
Old mattress
(These to tip/recycling)
Box of beauty stuff to freecycle.
That’s a weeks worth, it’s hard work this.Magnolia Stellata0
