So I have started to empty the wardrobe
I have washed all of our winter clothes, bagged it up and put the hangers it was on in another bag. The intention is to buy some of those JML vac pack things so that when we move I can store out of season things under the bed, as the flat isn't the biggest!
I have removed some things we no longer want and put the hangers from that in the hanger bag from before.
I have moved our smart clothes/suits - while still on the hangers - into another room in the house.
The idea is to have all the hangers in one bag, but I'm not sure if I'll keep them as we smoke in this bedroom and nicotine clings to E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!! We're not allowed to smoke inside the new flat so I reckon I could get away with buying new hangers that are the same colour as my intended colour scheme and then it'll all match and look good
The only problem I have now is - I don't know what to wash and bag up next as what's left now is clothes we wear on the regular! :rotfl:0 -
can anyone answer this please
as I always pass clothes on pop them to the charity shop or sell them
what on earth do I do with old pjs knickers etc - things I would not do those things with as they have been too close to body
I dont like to use clothes banks unless the stuff is suitable for the charity shop so where can I put things that are only suitable for ragsEmergency fund £10,000

Some charity shops will take clothes that aren't suitable for resale, as long as they are clean, as they can take them somewhere that they can get cash for rags. It's worth checking with the shops and if they will take them it can be helpful if they're kept separate.
If there's a M and S close to you they have Shwop bins so you could put them in there

A few more items out of the house as a result of decluttering and cleaning our bathroom cabinet. The cabinet doesn't actually get used very much-toiletries are on a wire rack that hangs over the bathroom door, toothbrushes etc are on the window-sill....So lots of very expired stuff binned today:
1382:toilet cleaning wipes. The packet must be over 10years old ,never opened.
1383:small tube of toothpaste-very old
1384:little pot that had contained a small sample of facial scrub from Body Shop
1385:interdental cleaners
1386:hair gel,six years past its expiry date :eek:.Yes,it probably would still work, but obviously nobody is using it
1387-1388:2 old tubes of medicine
1389-1390:2 opened tubes of Bepanthen,one expired October 2008 :eek::eek::eek::eek:,one expired March 2012 :eek::eek:
It amazes me that in all the decluttering I have been doing,on and off for about 4 years, this cupboard has never been done.
I also found unopened boxes of toothbrushes, which I have set aside for donation to Shelter. Will count those when they leave the house.
Recycled:
1391:tin that plasters came in
1392:extremely old Hedrin spray bottle
From the kitchen I also recycled:
1393-1396:boxes of tea bags.A few years ago my now 15yo daughter went through a fad of trying different fruit teas. Now most of them are out of date, and, according to a friend of mine I was trying to donate them to,have lost their flavour.Tea bags binned, boxes and foil recycledSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Oh,my.I am sooooooooooooo naughty being awake at this hour .Anyone would think it was school holidays or something :rotfl:.Still not a good excuse though.
Did a bit of pottering around today:
1397:consolidated wrapping paper.I have a plastic box that I keep rolls of wrapping paper in.But there is also a cardboard box for "overflow".With culling/sorting,I was able to fit all the paper into the plastic box,and put the cardboard one out for recycling. It all frees up space :j
Also tidied a shelf on the display cabinet in my front room.Put into storage 4 fathers day cards that had been on display for 6 weeks. There is also a small box containing remote controls for Wii (not used very often),which I was able to hide in cabinet, making the area look alot tidier.
Sorted out more random bags of tat.
Binned:
1398:rope something-or-other that one of the kids made at a forest school
1399-1401:kid's nail polishes
1402:"elastic band car".Got sick of trying to find all the bits that went with this.I kept the elastic bands and binned the plastic parts
1403-1414:Deleted emails:spent3.5 hours tonight deleting emails (I am sure there is a faster way,but I am not very clever with the computer,so did it my way.
I actually decluttered (moved from inbox to a named file,or deleted entirely) 811 emails.I will count 1 for each mailing list that I sorted.Deleted or filed emails from 12 different mailing lists, and actually unsubscribed from 9 of these.(A purist declutterer would probably only count 9,but I am counting as 12.There has got to be some reward for spending 3.5 hours decluttering emails :rotfl:)SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

We have started packing for when we move. We have a moving in date of next Friday
I'm just waiting on the letting agents ringing me to go and do all the paperwork now.
While packing I have got rid of some scrap paper no longer needed, a couple of product boxes I felt I didn't need any more and some other tatty rubbishy bits0
