Quite a productive half an hour on the laptop - so I decided to venture off the forums for a change and have a look around the rest of this site, something I haven't done enough of recently. Anyhow, I found an offer for switching a current account to Clydesdale bank that pays a £250 bonus, anyway, I've applied, been accepted, filled in all the forms and it will all go through by 7th November. After that I need to pay £1000 in each month for 2 months, and set up 2 direct debits. Luckily I have several current accounts so have just transferred one that I rarely use and already has the tv licence going out of it monthly, so I just need to transfer the money across from my savings for 2 months, then move one other dd and that's a bonus £250 for me  Really chuffed with this one, the money should come through by January so will be really helpful for meeting my brothers fund targets for January / February, leaving me free to concentrate on more holiday fund money :D

I withdrew my first ever £5 from Swagbucks last night
I’ve tried before but never really got going...but I’m raring to go now, I’m back on 340sb again I think my enthusiasm will ease up next week when I’m back at work and don’t have as much time!
I really need to sort out a new signature!

It can be utterly tedious Pixie, but it is a guaranteed £5 voucher pretty regularly, and they add up nicely towards Christmas ;) I aim to make my daily goal and that roughly means I get a £5 Amazon voucher each week. Some people earn huge amounts on there, I couldn't bear too much more of it if I'm honest, however it is a nice easy way to earn a few more pennies for the pot :)

And I need every last extra little penny I can find right now:eek:
As both of the girls are out of f/t education I have lost so much of my income - the hit came in September, £800 less:o
Even not including my cc repayments I don’t have enough coming in to just live, I’m trying not to panic, but am hugely overdrawn and last month I finally withdrew the last bit of savings:(
I have just been on the Stepchange website though and entered all of my details, even not spending hardly a thing, I am £170 short...never mind the cc payments. So, I’ll ring them tomorrow and see what they suggest.
The girls do help, but obviously they can’t cover the £800 a month loss! Just living is so costly!

God, sorry for pouring out my woes on you! :)

I hear you Pixie, it is on my mind regularly how my situation will change once ds is out of full time education - he is looking at doing an apprenticeship rather than college / 6th form, which I believe means that tax credits stop - I really don't understand this, an apprenticeship pays £3.50 an hour for the first year, by the time ds has bought lunch / paid for travel it doesn't leave much else, I really couldn't take much off him towards housekeeping, but I will lose £750 a month in tax credits / child benefit / maintanence from the ex. My income from my full-time job won't be enough to cover my outgoings, I can see me having to get a weekend/holiday job too just to make ends meet :( But for now I have other things to worry about. That is one of those that is always there at the back of my mind, and is the reason I'm keen to get my brother paid back so I can just concentrate on the mortgage.

Today is the last day of half-term that ds is at home, tomorrow he's going to grandparents in the morning then on to his Dads at the weekend. He'll be home Sunday lunchtime.

Today we have the last bit of homework to get done, then he's having his haircut, then we're going to the new train club he's joined.
