I would like to be in 2017 :
More organised
Debt free
Clutter free
Loose weight got 5 stone to lose
Count my blessing and spend more times with the important people in my life#025 Sealed pot challenge0 -
The only biggie for me next year is to continue with my weight loss. I did well in 2016 losing nearly 3 stone. To get to my mid-range BMI I have 2 stone to lose. Not expecting that to be easy, the toughest part will be maintaining it.
I've signed up to the weightloss thread, Knit Witch there keeps us on track and it's a great place for support, accountability and meal ideas.
Apart from that I'm going to be extra kind to myself and not set myself up with too many challenges for once!
Best of luck everyone with your 2017 goals :A

cook healthy meals to trim weight
extra dog walking for fitness levels
moisturize

making baby steps everyday0 -
In 2017 I'd like to continue with:
*Meal planning, which has made a big difference
*A housework routine which has really helped
*Decluttering
*Saving
Things I'd like to start
*Buying more things secondhand
*Losing weight - less biscuits mean more pennies into the savings
*I'd like to count my blessings more and try to be less worried about the future.
I'm also doing a 'No Buying Books' challenge for 2017 so I'll be reading through my local library instead.0 -
My aims for the year ahead are broadly similar to many that other here have said:
- Walk at least 10 000 steps a day (currently averaging about 6 000 a day
- Buy and eat more local food
- Pack my lunch for each day of work
- Keep progressing with Latin evening classes
- Go on at least 4 camping weekends and one full week
- Cook at least one new to me recipe a week
- Read at least 60 books
- Declutter!

I want to conquer my fear of water and learn to dive and like Margaret if I gave up the biscuits there'd be more money. The same with buying books - only library books for 2017. Also like most people more decluttering. I want to sew all the dress fabric I have in my stash but can't do it until I have my boob reconstruction this year (had to have a mastectomy in 2015). Then I'll have a balanced figure to fit :rotfl:
Last but not least find a quiet place to live - the sound insulation is so bad that I can hear the occupant of the flat above me going to the toilet!Flowers are sunshine for the soul0 -
I would like to join in too, my list is very long, but a lot of it are things that most people do (and I did too before I got ill with 2 forever conditions either or both completely zapping my energy and making me prone to catching all the bugs) as a matter of course.
Many things might not be completely achieved in 2017, all depends on illness, but that will not be failure, I will be trying and not burying head in sand. Much will be in baby steps.
Aims/goals
Carry on the big de-clutter by type of item/room
Keep a spending diary in handbag, update after every purchase, review at end of each month
Bit by bit clean entire house thoroughly and set up a regular cleaning schedule, possibly join flylady
Make and stick to Meal Plans / shopping lists / food budget
Schedule No Spend days
Keep diary updated
Budget – make and stick to
Eat proper breakfast/ dinner
Cook most/all meals from scratch
Meatless meals twice a week, increasing as we find recipes we love
Bake once a week
Get off laptop and live in the real world, severely limit online time wasting
Try and walk every day.
Figure out how to get a good night’s sleep.
Build up immune system/personal health
Think before buying, is it really wanted/needed/useful
Read all books I already own before buying/borrowing more
Start knitting/crafting again
Save for holidays spending/food money
Replenish Easy Saver account
PADs to CCs
Keep on top of calendar and spend 10 minutes going over every morning or possibly even the night before. Check weekly for next week’s birthdays.
Keep on top of decluttering.
Check bank account twice weekly
Keep in touch family/friends phone/FB/e-mail

Hi all,
What a great idea for a thread!
I'm soending a quiet New Year in front of the telly with family, and I've been thinking a lot about what 2017 is going to mean for me.
The biggest thing is that I need to decide whether to buy the home I am currently in, or finally decide to move and buy a place elsewhere. I need to get my current place valued in January, with a view to deciding whether to stay or go.
I also want to declutter a lot!
Most importantly, I am going to focus on my own health and well-being, and less on work! Specifically, I'm going to sleep for at least 7 hours per night, and dramatically cut down on sugar, with a view to having more energy and losing a lot of weight. i want to end the year 4 stones lighter, which sounds like a lot, but I do have a lot to lose!
Good luck all, with your own aims for 2017!!!2025 goals
GC: April £100
Savings: save £6K (or move house)
Health: Lose 3 stone
Mind: read at least 24 books0 -
1. get hearing aids fitted in both ears 6th jan - cannot wait. Hopefully they will also distract my brain from the headbashing effect of the titinuss.
2. Go for miss to mrs at ripe old age of 56 in October
Those are certainties, the rest are hopes i.e get the big jobs done on my narrowboat which is also my home.
Get my buisness up and running.
Take control of my life back from the M.E. and discintigrating spine - that have turned my world upside done in the past 4 years.
And find out why I get bouts of full body paralysis and how the hell to stop it happening.
I learn to spell again!
Re your paralysis have you been tested for Hemiplegic migraine as I get total paralysis from this sometimes, it's not always one sided oh and it's hormones and blood sugars too high with me. It started with peri menopause. Worth looking into. Pm me if you need a chat/moan xxGrocery challenge June 2016

I need to turn my ideas into SMART targets, I think!
So far I have:
1) Go back down to 10.5 stones.
2) Get all the materials ready so I can replace my porch (has to be reclaimed stuff to match the house).
3) Research and plan for holidays - we're going to Edinburgh and Cornwall this year (not the same holiday!) but on a very limited budget so we like to get organised before we go.
4) Not eat many meals out. I tend to buy sandwiches or stop off at cafes where I need to be more organised with sandwiches/flasks of soup/meals ready in the freezer.
Should be an exciting year with older son leaving school and learning to drive and younger son starting his GCSE courses.0
