Morning all :coffee:
You are a busy lot at the moment. I'm doing an awful lot of sitting on my backside and relaxing, but I'm not going to feel guilty about it because I know I'm normally on the go constantly. I've enjoyed having a week or so of doing way less than I'm used to.
Today is just a day of the basics for me - I still have the remnants of my manflu. I hope that everyone else gets better soon, or even better, manages to avoid the lurgy altogether...
So, plans include the usual dailies - washing, washing up, hoover plus check banking and PAD to my savings. Hoping to avoid the shops altogether today and bag a nsd if possible.
I'm also going to catch up with my bestie today - I haven't seen her since the week before Christmas as we've both been busy, and I've been ill. Time for a big coffee and a catch up.
Have a good day everyone. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Dawn so nice to hear of people still having their milk delivered.
DNMS I saved this on Pinterest the other day, variations on the regular play dough recipes, I like the sound of the stretchy one!

Today is the day we have DH's work mates round for drinks (from 5pm.) We still have some alcohol left over from Christmas to get the party started so just need to buy pitta bread and yoghurt for my YS meat ball kebabs to help soak it up!
I plan the make ham, egg and proper chips for lunch to use up the last of the ham. I'm not sure how many eggs we have so if not enough for one each I will scramble them. DH doesn't like proper HM chips but I bought too many potatoes for Christmas and they need using up and the rest of us love them.
The impulse bought cushions will have to go back tomorrow as Mr S is in the opposite direction.

Afternoon everyone! I've managed to catch some kind of lurgy!
I've got an awful hacking cough and I can feel the start of a cold coming! My whole body is really achy too! Well my little man has been awake all of today so far so I've not managed to do too much! But I've just got him to sleep so a quick chance to come on and catch up here for 10 minutes! Hopefully whilst he's asleep I can:
- Check bank accounts
- Do a few surveys
- Stick a load of washing on and tumble dry - It's far to cold here for it to dry outside, especially this late in the day and we are going through muslin clothes like there's no tomorrow!
I'll leave it at that for the time being! Hope everyone is all ok! xDebt free once - Back again | Current debt: £2479.50 - January 2025 | Make £2025 in 2025 #11 - £41/£20250 -
nipped to the shops and groceries came in around £8.50 so have enough for another 6pts of milk in the week
picked up a ys stem of sprouts for 20p. they are currently sitting in a pan of brine and I'll blanch and freeze shortly. Got punnet of ys mushrooms so chopped and froze them. Also picked up a pair of christmas pjs for madam for £2 and a christmas jumper for £4 so will put them up in the loft for next year
I did purchase a electric knife full price in Arg0s but figure over time this will pay for it'self by stretching out meat
madam asleep now so just pottering aroundDF as at 30/12/16

Sounds like a productive trip Dnms!
KatyAnn, sorry to hear that the dreaded lurgy has hit you too, rest as and when you can (I know easier said then done!)
FatVonD, sounds like they're in for a good evening!
Well the banana loaf is cooking so I thought I'd grab 10 mins on here. Kids are playing with their xmas toys, hubby has his headphones on watching something on catchup so I'll make the most of a little bit of peace!
Its been a productive day and I was grateful for hubby's help. He found a couple of bits and pieces he'd forgotten about in his wardrobe so it will be nice to see him in something differentWho needs the shops to buy more clothes when you can clean out the wardrobe and find things you don't even remember buying!
I've also claimed a £5 amaz0n gift card from swag$
I need to start coming up with some mini goals for 2017 these need to include
 Reducing our food bill further, we've done well on this but it could be better!
 Losing weight, I need to crack this, this year (as I've said every year) I need to apply my mse ways to this, if I stopped buying the sweets/chocs/ys cakes it would help the reducing of the food bill and also help reduce the waist line!
