E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v18

I put my family and friends on E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v18, which was a good deal at the time, but sadly expires on 19 Jan 2017.
Because I like Eon and there are not exit fee, I have moved (i.e. 19 Jan 16) everyone over to :
E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v21
Unit rate Normal 14.301p per kWh
Standing charge 16.422p per day
TCR 16.07 p per kWh
Exit fees = £0
Just noticed EON have a slightly cheaper Tariff, but with big £30 exit fee :
E.ON Saver Fixed 1 Year v4
Unit rate Normal 14.217p per kWh
Standing charge 16.422p per day
TCR 15.99 p per kWh
Exit fees = £30
Don't think its worth changing Tariff again for a few pound saving, and having £30 exit fee, when we can move again... But maybe they will be dropping the E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v21 shortly, so maybe worth signing up before it got...By swapping to a new supplier, I'm saving £430 on v21. That is not 'a few pounds'. Do yourself a favour and shop around. There are far cheaper deals out there.
I'm saving a similar amount, shade over £400 by clicking a few buttons and moving supplier. If E.on reduce to something more competitive I can move back.
From reading the OP they are moving multiple homes, friends and family, so saving maybe doubled or tripled. I do understand loyalty, but it has to work both ways surely for that amount?
As nick pike says do shop around and put it towards a holiday, or a car or anything if you want! Good luck.0 -
Eon must surely be losing customers in droves with their lack of competitive tariffs.
One relative whose account I look after is switching to Avro Energy rather than going with Eon's v21 fixed tariff. It will save her £24 a month on her current usage and that is ignoring the "savings" that OFGEM mandate switching sites show us, but is calculated on each tariff going forward for the same usage as the last 12 months.
The relative, who is disabled, knows she will lose the benefit of her smart meters, but still the financial impact means she's prepared to read the meters herself, which is very difficult for her.
Very sad to lose the high standard of customer support Eon provide, but the price is too high.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I love their iphone app for meter readings and account checks. Even with their £100 voucher, I'd be paying £100 more than I currently pay.
+1. I'm looking at moving to Scottish Power from e-on. £300 saving to be had if I keep the same gas and electricity usage for the next twelve months. If you're a millionaire, it's probably small change. For anyone else, it's a sensible idea.
+1. Saving £246 p.a. by transferring. I don't want to, but £246 is quite a significant amount. I will only be £44 extra pa on the current EON V19 tariff. Still an above inflation 5.6% increase, but nowhere near the gut busting 37% on EON's lowest tariff!0 -
Customers can change from one E.ON tariff to another at any time without charge/exit fee. We can, though, withdraw our tariffs from sale at any time.

Good point, about swapping Eon tariffs, no exit fee.
But I wanted the option to also move to another provider, if you don't offer a better "electric only" tariff, in the next few months, because the V21 is very expensive !
The main issue is people are comparing v18 to v21, I think v18 was such a good deal at the time, so swapping to v21 is a big jump.By swapping to a new supplier, I'm saving £430 on v21. But currently I would only save me £53 per year (cheapenergyclub figures) against say SSE 1 Year Fixed v9 and Eon V21.
(My Assumed annual consumption is 3480 kWh)
SSE 1 Year Fixed v9
Unit rate 11.939p per kWh
Standing charge 23.016p per day
TCR 14.35 p per kW
£30 exit fee
£500 per year
E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v21
Unit rate Normal 14.301p per kWh
Standing charge 16.422p per day
TCR 16.07 p per kWh
£553 per year
But better deals could come along, so I''m sitting on the fence with no exit fees, ready to move :money:
I did move everyone from British Gas to ZOG (fantastic company :j) for our Gas only (Zog Mercury 24 ), best thing I ever did, shame they don't do electric.0 -

There was a piece on BBC News today about more people switching to the smaller energy companies. I didn't quite catch the percentage increase but I think it was over 20% more switching this year than last. I think Martin Lewis on TV must be having an affect.0 -

That is almost exactly the estimated saving for me if I switch away from E.ON. The saving would nearly pay for my annual internet bill in its entirety.0 -
Mine ends to in Feb, had an offer from E on looked good also cheaper energy club checked that said it was the best so sign up, I have just checked Uswitch & found in could save even more so I'm a little confused as to why cheaper energy club didn't offer this?
My advice would be to check all sites.0 -

What offer from EON?
Check Iresa. They don't appear on comparison sites.0 -

Hi - welcome to the forum. Unless you are switching from a standard tariff then it is unlikely that you will save anything.
For fixed tariffs coming to an end, Ofgem requires sites to use a 12 month going forward cost projection based on 'x' months on present tariff PLUS 12 - X months on the standard tariff. This leads to an inflated cost. When you choose your new fixed tariff this can cost more but it can also show a saving. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
