  • FREE I joined Robin Hood last October after coming to the end of the British Gas collective switch. Customer service is shocking. Haven't had a bill since I joined them.
Have begun a case using Resolver as have no idea what I owe them, that my direct debits are covering my bills (which I know they won't be).
They may have been cheapest option, but think customer service can definitely worth a couple of extra pounds.
Just waiting for an up-to-date bill, then will leave them for better service. Thankfully no exit charge.

    It is very quiet here.

I am STILL worn out with earache and sore throat, headache.I am so frustrated,I want to get on with stuff.

I picked up a little crystal glass snowman figure from a garden centre for £1.49 will come in for someone and a snow globe from a NT property we visited on our grand tour.Gissella Graham, reduced to £2.Wish I had got a few more now,be nice little gifts for people.

Grand tour was lovely, weather was not.I felt ok till after lunch and then would really have liked to go home. Finally ended at 10pm.I spent the day in bed on Sunday.

Sink in,love it,Need to seal the worktop a couple of times now with evil smelling stuff.

I did a very simple love craft.

having steak n chips tonight then Mr V off to work.I am visiting friends for drinks!

Feel the love today peoplexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx V

  • Free, hope the UC has cleared. I'm trying to sort out what to do about BG, instinct makes me avoid the cheapest providers, but I also think I may have a issue with my smart meters, they are BG & I think I heard Martin Lewis say that it may not be possible to swap with their meters. Need to get a wiggle on as the fixed rate expires in couple of weeks.

VP, how were The Drifters? Hope DD "enjoys" the humbling experience that is Auschwitz. When I went, it was a beautiful, warm sunny day & to my dying day, I will never work out whether the temperature genuinely dropped when we walked through the gates or whether it was psychological.

Leanne, we are not too bad here.

PP, not sure on the squatters. Pest control back tomorrow, everyplace blocked off but the poison is still being eaten.

Thought I was going to be all sorted health wise this week, seems to be going on forever. Was supposed to have crown fitted tomorrow, but had to reschedule to Friday as I couldn't take the risk that pest control would not be finished on time.

Thursday appointment with ENT to find out what happened my hearing, went deaf in 1 ear when I had shingles, may be coincidence, but having it checked. Except the hospital phoned me at 3:30 today to say that I need to have a hearing test tomorrow morning:mad:. While I expected that, a bit of notice would have been appreciated, so I had no choice but to get them to re-arrange. Was not a happy bunny, why didn't they book that at the same time as my ENT, but that would have been logical.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • Good evening everyone
I've started the preparation for this coming Christmas and have a trusty notebook dedicated to it (I love lists!)
I have bought quite a few family members presents and have got a box that I'm filling with stocking size bits when I see them as I found them one of the most annoying things to get bought last year with six of them to fill.
I've decided to save my boots points up for Christmas and have been taking advantage of the boots app to boost it and have £12+ already.
£29.50 of clubcard vouchers came through last week as well and I'm going to keep them back for a shop in December.
£30 in topcashback and any further earnings I will change to amazon vouchers for bargains I spot throughout the year
Lastly ive got a sealed money tin which I'm putting all the money in from selling things locally that the kids have outgrown or no longer use.

Are there any survey sites etc that people recommend that I can use to boost my Christmas fund? I've decided to try entering competitions to see if I have any luck winning things for presents does anyone else do this?

    Hello pinklady
Your post made me realise I often leave stocking fillers gifts until late and often end up buying pointless gifts. Think I should make an effort to look for these throughout the year. I seem ok with selecting bigger gifts.
As I find smaller stocking fillers gifts will share, hopefully we can all give each other ideas.

I've been doing surveys for a while, they do help with money, as I get Amaaaazon vouchers. However they can be time consuming and the return for some can small. I like yougov, although it does take me a year to get to the payout of £50. Valued Opinions seems to build up quite quickly. I've used i-say and can sometimes get free samples and bigger paying surveys.

You have some great totals in your signature and looks like your getting well ahead.:T

  • morning, hello, newbies, stay with us , we're not all crazy all the time, it just seems that way to non Christmas nuts.
Sorry been MIA back now. I have had my other tooth out and am sporting an extended partial denture, still difficulty eating/chewing, but it can only get better.
DD has no moon boot now, and only needs the crutches when she is outside, or shopping.
DS1s friend had his rescheduled assessment for PIP on 2nd Feb, and got word on Monday that he had been awarded enhanced rate for both mobility and care. Big relief for him.
DGS had a wonderful valentines day, as did his DGF, cards, presents and kisses exchanged, (sorry, TMI). Wonder if they realise it is all downhill from here?
Going shopping with fave cous. and DGN (her DGD) should be fun, neither of us can open the buggy, and the wee one doesn't want to be in it anyway, this could be a recipe for disaster, but fun nonetheless.
Eureka moment, I have reins for her, must go and find them,
Peppa, hope the house sale goes smoothly.

vulpix - is that a wooden work top you have to seal in? I'm so not looking forward to that :( My dad's suddenly got out kitchen extension near finished ( 0nly taken 18 years! ), our kitchen has nearly doubled it's amazing ! so much space! Hope your feeling better x

    - what form are your squatters? little or biggies ekk! We have rats because we have chickens, they go hand in hand, biggest pain is chicken food is actually the antidote to rat poison and they are wary of new things so they give traps a wide berth for months :(

    - I went through a spell of entering competitions, and I did win quite a few bits but it takes a lot of time dedicated to it. I'm a fan of facebook competitions, the ones run by big companies I've done well on those, I won food vouchers from Chef and Brewer, from john freida the hair people some alexander mcqueen boots (£700 price tag on the box <3 they are beautiful!), few lipsticks from revlon, a years supply of porridge from dorset cereals. I am quite a lucky person when it comes to competitions lol. Good Luck! :) x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....
  • Afternoon everyone,

MRSINVISIBLE sorry you have had more dental pain i hope it all settles down soon though. Glad DS friends pip interview all went smoothly and is now done and dusted. DGS and his girlfriend valentines sounds very cute
