Treasurequeen the crackers sound a lovely idea.

I've been to two winter weddings...one I totally underdressed for (and if there's any remote chance of photos on lawns etc, I highly recommend some of those plastic heel saver things for your shoes so you don't sink)

In terms of keeping warm thought, I'm thinking go for 'luxury' type fabrics, faux fur stoles, or even a full length faux fur coat, and of course gloves, fitted sheepskin or satin (though not as warm). If you're outside at all you can likely get away with fleece lined tights and change into lighter ones once inside. I'm thinking glamor of the twenties or thirties, or think Jackie O and fur.

Oh, and if you have room under your dress, add an extra thermal layer....does Spanx do a thermal range? If not I see a business opportunity :D

Deepest sympathies to you and your family Murie.
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.
