Hi all, yay I’ve managed to make it on here! I’ve got a little bit of time in bed with a cuppa this morning as DH came rolling in drunk after midnight the night before last after going out for a ‘couple’ of drinks, he had a lie in yesterday because of it so now I have one today. I’ve been MIA for ages so I don’t know what’s going on with everybody, I hope everyone is ok and ready for Christmas? Oh I have missed chatting with you all in the run up to Christmas, but I just don’t have much spare time at the moment. Squeak only naps for 30mins at a time and Wiggle is a total threenager now!! So in my spare time I have been cramming in Christmas stuff, the good news is I am pretty much ready – this is the most organised I have ever been! I even managed to make baubles for everybody with Wiggle and Squeak’s fingerprints on that I turned into reindeer. I’ve got to pick my turkey, ham and a few other bits up from Waitrose today and we’ve got our big shop coming from Tesco this afternoon. That’s in-between a kids coffee morning, hosting DH’s cousin and wife for lunch and having my friend and her little boy over to play and stay for tea this afternoon! My neighbours are going out for drinks tonight but I think I might be a bit too frazzled come this evening. I’m really excited about Christmas now mostly everything is done, my mum, dad and auntie are coming up on Christmas Eve until Boxing Day, then we are going to the in laws on Boxing Day to see all of his family, it’s going to be really lovely.
I’m so glad I’ve been able to get stuck in and enjoy it this year as Wiggle is so much more aware. He had his little pre-school party on Tuesday, we went to meet Father Christmas on Wednesday and last night Father Christmas came down our road on a big sleigh float blasting music out. We weren’t expecting that last night, we were getting Wiggle ready for bed and basically had to haul him out in his pj’s! He loved it though. I think we all did!
Anyway I’m aware I’m waffling now, I hope you are all ok, I’ll try to pop on again soon as I do miss you all – you’re part of my Christmas now! :beer:0 -
Using a glass as a stand, place the chocolate orange so it sits. Melt some milk cooking chocolate and use it to stick maltesers to one half of the chocolate orange. Let it set for 10-15 minutes then turn the chocolate orange over in the glass so you can repeat to cover the rest. Again let it stand to set.
When it is set stick it to a cake board with a bit more melted chocolate. Melt some white cooking chocolate for the top and pour over the top (we let this start to cool first) This year we have used plastic Holly toppers but can use icing or Holly shaped sprinkles too£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Wow Stokie that's amazing! Well done you!! I have that pudding saved as a pin on Pinterest and I considered doing it this year - but then I had to have a reality check about how much time I have and have bought ready made puddings this year! Good for you though it looks brilliant and I bet it tastes amazing. Enjoy!0

Will log a claim for delay (which should give me six first class stamps) and hope it turns up but now doubt it. Will have to re send in New Year although it included one of my own photo calendars and not sure I have a spare of that :(
Hope everyone is ok. 2 shifts down 4 to do. Got a banging headache. Hope some food fixes it.
Ive just had to refund someone on EBay for a parcel with a toy on it that I posted on the 3rd of Dec. It was clearly addressed and had my sender addres, but still gone awol. I'm on a few fb craft groups and so many people have said things have gone missing:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Morning, still feeling rubbish. This is really clinging on!
I am all set for the big day. Pressies all bought and wrapped. Just food shopping to do early on Saturday.
Does anyone have opinions on frozen 3 bird roasts from tesco versus a fresh Turkey or crown?
I was looking at them yestersay to get an idea which one to get. Usually I get a fresh crown. Needs to serve 12 people. Then as I was wandering around I noticed 3 bird roasts in the frozen aisle. I usually cook the bird on xmas Eve then lay sliced in gravy ready to just bung in the oven on Christmas Day, so I think if it's a tad dry, the gravy will moisten it when sitting and cooking. It's cheaper to buy 2 x 3 bird roasts.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Thanks princess - have done them a couple of times now. Think they look good. Bit more awkward to eat though :rotfl:
Nic it is so annoying. Bestie received his yesterday but never had 1st class take 9 days to get there and worse as the other two packages sent to same address on same day got there the next day. I think probably similar to Jakesmum it was sat in post office for longer than it should have been. Lesson learnt though will send everything signed for in future as at least can track when it is delivered. I have logged a claim with royal mail for delay but whether I get the stamps I will wait and see. Says they aim to respond within 30 days.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Loving your Christmas pudding STOKIE.
NIC it's rubbish that you still feel poorly. My sister tried hot honey, lemon and ginger in desperation last night and actually feels a lot better this morning. Could be coincidence but maybe worth a go. Can't help with the bird question but hope your shopping trip is successful.
PRINCESSKITTY nice to see you. Reading what you're up to made me think, do you remember how worried you were when you were moving that you'd be lonely and wouldn't get to know anyone?:DIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

So jealous of everyone who has done all they need to and has time to relax a bit and enjoy the build up. I still have three shifts at work including a midnight finish tonight.
Other half is dropping parcels off to places but I miss being involved in that.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
