Evening.
I'm still feeling rough. On week 3 of this barking cough. I know I should have ŵent to the doctors, but I was feeling better the day before my appointment, so I cancelled it. But Ive felt awful this weekend. It's really getting me down. It actually sounds like croup, but it's rare in adults apparantly.
We made christmas sugar cookies today. I had visions of how lovely they would turn out. Little Christmas trees, candy cane and santa shapes. I even bought some good food colouring gels, but oh my, they are creative lol. They taste good and the kids enjoyed doing them. I def won't be putting gem in cello bags and giving any for xmas lol.
I am all set for christmas. Pressies all bought and mostly wrapped. The kids are all wrapped. My sister and BIL took the kids for the night on Friday. Gave me the chance to pull everything out and check I had enough, and wrap. Feel better knowing it's all done and in big bags ready to bring down on Christmas Eve.
Roll on Friday when we finish up work and school.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Evening everyone, I braved the shops yesterday to get the last bits to last through til NY, and actually they really weren't too bad busy wise, the worst was HB that was chaos. But I have filled two carrier bags up with food and bits for the local Foodbank, its a reverse advent. I read that the foodbanks were hardpushed for Christmas because they are so busy and I thought I know we don't have spare money and everything is budgeted for but this Christmas we will be sitting down to a groaning table of food, opening presents and being together as a famly. I thought if I could give one family a happy Christmas day it will make me happy. I always give chocolates for the kiddies at Christmas time but this year it has really struck a chord with me. Just need to wrap stockingfillers and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN this week!
NIC I don't know if you are near to a Starbucks but they do a gingerbread syrup for coffees and it is blooming gorgeous, sending you healthy vibes x

Hope all the poorly people feel much better by this time next week xx
Murie, touching thread.Tell all about your trip.
Gosh Free you are brave going into town last Saturday.Think we might go on Friday just for some atmosphere,we don't actually need anything.
The party went very well.Everyone had a great time. The bbq was a big hit.The house looked great and the garden had jars and jars of tea lights and looked lovely.I spent yesterday cleaning up in bursts as i was a little delicate.I slept like a log last night.I think my insomnia was stressing about it all.
Today is Mr V's birthday so I need to make a cake ready for DD2 to decorate when she gets in from school. He wants to go for a meal tonight.tbh I would just like to chill out at home. The party took such a lot of work and organising on my behalf. I asked him to do 3 jobs for it.Make lots of ice all week, put lights in the garden and sort out the music. All he did was throw some lights at the potted tree at the front door( he left the lit lights in a pile on the path) and put some on the back fence. The kids and partners were such a help.My son went to the supermarket 4 times (miles away) and he came back with the nicest bunch of flowers for me.Mr V was very appreciative though.
Christmas seems a breeze now thats over.Thank goodness its all done and wrapped though.
Tomorrow I am going to record the Christmas story. For people who don't know I am High Peak Radios Christmas Story lady.It is broadcast a couple of times on Christmas Eve.You can get it on line if anyone is interested. This year is another story for under 5's written by DS.
Hope your friends parcel shows up today Stokie.

Hi all,
First family Christmas get together yesterday - went to Dsis's and my Dmum was there also. Dsis is away for Christmas as only a year since we lost nephew so she can't bear to be at home. It was slightly subdued but it was good for the cousins to get together. I took some amazing mini cupcakes from W*itrose - gingerbread flavour. Really nice but at £3 per box of 9 not very money saving (think it's two boxes for £5).
Went to big shopping mall with DH on Saturday and he got a new coat. I got a nice jumper - not Christmassy but did have a bit of sparkle. We then met friends for an early dinner.
Very much looking forward to finishing work on Friday. The office has a problem with the heating and I kid you not, it is warmer outside in the sunshine! Still no food purchased for the big day except for stuffing!
Sorry to hear so many are feeling poorly, not what you need at this (or any) time of the year. Hope you all feel much better soon.

Afternoon everyone
Well, I posted MIL's parcel last tuesday, been religiously checking the tracking on parcelf0rces website and it was not showing any tracking info at all. Went back to the post office this morning and the parcel is still sat behind their counter! Clerk tried to tell me that they collected it and then returned it the next day but could not explain why it had not updated to 'collected' when they scanned it on pick up  Me thinks they are shifting the blame and just never gave it too the driver
Sooo i've brought it home and rebooked it on a UPS 24 hr, but am not hopeful it will get there in time as all couriers are still talking about snow and delays etc, I wouldn't be so annoyed but it contains my DH's eldest DGD's main present from her mum, the rest is for MIL and FIL who won't care if its late but DGD is only 8 (hence why I sent it so early so it would definitely get there in time)Wrote parcelf0rce a pointed tweet about their service, have yet to receive a reply.
On brighter news, I sat myself down and got half the presents wrapped ready for the big day, DH and I also dragged out all the christmas food and DH was a tad depressed at how little was thereI am trying not to get too over indulgent as its only us four and my mum and dad and the shops are open boxing day so its not like I have to feed us for a week. We have now made a list of what we need to get and will get some christmassy bits tomorrow on the top up shop and then the rest on the final shop before christmas.
Hope anyone that is unwell is felling a bit better and any one feeling the pre christmas blues finds their festiveness soon

Jake's mum so frustrating for you. However if it had been returned it should have been returned to you as sender not the post office. Think someone has made a boo boo. Not sure if besties package arrived today as when I spoke to him he wasn't home
Won't be happy if it hasn't arrived as they were all sent same day at same time and the kids both got theirs but they only sent the third package as a normal large letter hope the lady didn't get the postage wrong and it's sat at a sorting office somewhere waiting for an extra payment
Had a lovely cream tea with my friend this afternoon. If anything isn't done now it won't get done as I am at work for next six days£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120
