Goodness the spirit is rising! Trees already up, presents already delivered, how well on you all are!
York was just magic, just spending time with fave coz is so special.
Bought a lovely cardigan in Prim*rk, and got coz bra measured and fitted,in M&S, 3 new ones bought, (she needs scaffolding really).
Mooch round the Christmas markets, bought some sloe whisky, I have never tried to make that, but now it is on the list. Posh afternoon tea at Patisserie V*lerie, far too much to eat, so brought home a doggy box and 6 complimentary mince pies, which were split between the 'folks at home' so everyone got a sweet treatout of it, ..and we had got a group0n deal on the booking, so, well MSE'd.
Spent the weekend recovering, and now l have a rotten cold. So today l need to get all the presents sorted into 'families' sacks ready for delivery, and put the cards in too, and then maybe some space reorganising.
The only presents l have left to get are for the Chinese contingent, but as my DDIL is the least acquisitive person l know, it looks like a night in a hotel with a nice meal for the two of them, and not much else!
They arrive on the 15th December, so still time to go shopping when they are here.
School run approaching, so l best get ready and wake the lion, AKA DGS0 -
Afternoon all, sorry been away for a few days so haven't been about much. Had a great weekend & aside from a gift for my mum I am pretty much there now.
Tree has been ordered & will be delivered & put up Saturday. Will try to do some wrapping after sorting the tree whilst having some mulled wine too which will be nice.
Quick question - star or angel/fairy on top of your tree?
Had a drunken kiss with a close friend on the weekend which was very unexpected & left me feeling like an embarrassed teenager the next day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Feeling much colder here so I'm hoping that we may see some of the white stuff over the weekend.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

Afternoon everyone
Ooo Oakdene, im a angel girl myself, spent many years searching for my angel and finally found her on ebay! I do not like those angels / fairies with plastic cones where the legs are (hence my dificulty in finding one), but this lady handmade all the clothes and my little angel is made from some sort of ceramic type stuff. She even gets her own box surrounded by tinsel to keep her safe when she gets packed away each year
Spent today going through the loft with DH and throwing away as much stuff as we could, I had boxes up there for appliances we don't even own! why did I have them? Full van load of rubbish went down the tip today, so now we can go through the house room by room throwing away anything that needs throwing, boxing up anything that can be stored in the loft for the next month and organising everything that needs to stay in the house so that we can actually fit the tree in the living room! Only issue is DH wants to do everything right now! and I cannot do it. He's one of those 'i'm in the mood lets get it done' kind of blokes but my health does not allow me to play like that so I keep having to tell him to sit the heck down!I do feel better for all the junk out of the loft going though, it was starting to feel like one of them houses off that hoarding program!
Went to a craft fair yesterday with my mum, had a lovely 3 hr mooch round looking at all the stalls and it was really nice to see that only 2 of them were mass produced stalls (that I bypassed completely, i'm one of those annoying people who believes craft fairs are for handmade items not stuff I can buy at Tesc0). Only spent £20 and that included £4 for us to get in and £5.50 at the cake / pastry stall
DD got her gran a tree decoration for her tree as her christmas present, and I got another tree decoration for mine (I know I know I said I didn't need any more but it was soooo pretty and I only bought one despite there being at least 4 I saw that I liked!)
Right need to put the kettle on as Dh has gone to pick the youngest up from school and agreed I could stay here in return for a cuppaSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Grandads Christmas present - just needs wrapping in cellophane now.
Other half's car was meant to be having a part changed today but has now been put off until tomorrow as the wrong part was sent so no car ... Luckily my dad called round with other half's birthday stuff so we went for lunch and he took me food shopping - double discount at work so have stocked up paid £45 (was initially £119 eek) after my discount and £50 of saving stamps I had saved up were taken off so hopefully now the food shop will be bare minimum for a few weeks. Freezer is already full from some bargains we got last week so plenty for us to make meals from.
Hope everyone is ok today.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -

Doesn't smell like leatherHowever, got to admit it is bloomin' lovely
Apparently, all expensive bags are now treated. Will contact a friend of mine who works for a company that makes REALLY expensive bags, if anyone knows definitively, she willA smile costs little but creates much0 -
GTQ I got a lovely one today too and you're right, I sniffed all of them and none of them smelt like I wanted. Really pleased with mine too, it's black and ivory but I can't have it til Christmas which is fair enough as it's my pressie from DH.
JAKESMUM I'm the same with craft fairs, can't stand seeing high street stuff, craft fairs are for crafts and individual things that you can't get everywhere.
OAKDENE I've always had Father Christmas at the top of our tree but a couple of years ago I changed to vintage style baubles so went for an angel instead. This year I'm having two trees (yay) so having the angel on the one in the front room with the vintage decs and Father Christmas on the one in the back room with the folksy and hand made decs. Don't think I've had a drunken kiss with anyone for about thirty years lol.
STOKIE the pressie looks great, well done.
MRSINVISIBLE glad you enjoyed your trip to York.
Desperate to get the decs up now but got things on for the next few days (family birthdays) so hopefully will get started on Thursday. Going to start doubling up on my shopping order from this week. Delivery slots around Christmas are blooming expensive and I'm determined not to be in the supermarkets in the week before Christmas :eek:It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

A quick pop in, we’ve only gone and bloomin done it. We are currently sat on the sofa surrounded by boxes in our new home. It’s going to take some work but at the moment we’re just focusing on making space for Christmas x0

absolutely brilliant news :j glad things finally worked out
a little bit of good news myself today went for an interview yesterday and they said they would let me know by the end of the week got a call just after 9 this morning offering me the job  not totally sure that taking on a new job this close to xmas is a great idea esp as its longer hours & further to travel but the extra money will def come in handy.
The main tree is up its 1/2 finished but that is partly down to the fact that we have a new family member a beautiful 3 month old calico kitten who spends 80% of the day up it knocking all the baubles off :rotfl:this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0
