3fortheholidays- glad you had a good time x Birmingham is my preferred airport as we only live about 15 minutes away from it.

Vulpix- Chester sounds lovely. Birmingham has a lovely Christmas market but that gets very busy too, especially at the weekends. I we decide to have a mooch there then I will definitely pm you for a meet up! Did you sleep any better last night? Enjoy the flower show- hope the weather keeps for you x

Alja- I I agree with vulpix- bulky gifts wont work out as expensive as layers of sweets.

treasurequeen- I like the idea of a mass wrap in too.
    lovin' this site!

Am in for the wrapping party. l think you give a great twist to the 'blue rinse' Peppa. l always wanted a purple streak in mine, but never dared.
Alija, also agree on the wrapped gifts in a cookie jar.
Treasure Queen, l had to re-read, as l saw 'aston martin' not 'martini Asti'.
Successfully dyed some orange towels brown yesterday, that's about all l got right! Knitting a baby coat with cabled front panel, and got to the shoulder shaping on the right front only to discover when placed with the left one, that l had put the panel in the wrong place. grrr.
Forgot potatoes in the morning shopping trip, just one of those days.
Decluttered 2 drawers in coffee table yesterday, will try to do a kitchen cupboard today. More coffee needed, xxx

Thank you for your thoughts on the gifts in the cookie jar, I think you're all right and I will look out for Christmas themed inidividually wrapped bits once they hit the shops and see what works out cheapest!

Peppa I love the sound of your blue hair! I have dark brown hair and had bright pink bits put in just underneath my hair on each side (could see it more when I tied it up etc) and I absolutely loved it! I wonder if there's anything colourful I could do with my hair again one day... Tempted to look on pinterest for inspo now!

Yesterday I found some Christmas cards I was given last year from friends. So I have cut some of them up to make gift tags for my parents' presents (we've always done this over the years!) and then recycled the rest.

Still in the middle of sorting out our home for the busy days ahead (a birthday celebration/wedding/our summer holiday) ...does anyone else find themselves forever decluttering? It seems never ending! :)

I am so up for the wrapping party.
The next one according to the Magical Holiday Homes Forum is September 16th so I am already digging out the paper I brought in the 5p Poundland sale and need to find some tags or make some from old cards I have.

Vulpix - enjoy the show. I hope the weather is nice for you. I didnt realise you were in Chester - I was there a few weeks ago visiting my dad. He lives in Nantwich. We are heading back up there at Christmas time. My husband is a keen photographer and so we are thinking we might bring out cameras up and go to the zoo for the day, visit my father and then drive down to Hereford where we Christmas shop each year. Hope your daughters phone has been saved and that you have managed to get some sleep. Insomnia is horrid. I go both ways - I either get insomnia and cannot sleep or I suffer from sleep paralysis so the sleeping is ok its just the waking up that is shocking!

Alja - the cookie jars sound like a fab idea. I think I might do something similar for my best friend to cheer her up. Shes had a hard few year and so could do with cheering up. I too seem to be forever cleaning - exceot when the kids are in school and husband is working - I can get all the cleaning done in an hour and then I sit back and enjoy the cleanliness for a few hours before whirlwinds seem to hit

MrsInvisible - we all have days like that - I hope you manage to correct your knitting without too much hassle.

Murie - German markets are always my favourite. We grew up in Germany so they are by far my favourite - Im hoping to go back to one soon with my husband. Well done on your Whiskey buy.

Treasure - bargain with the Asti. :-) and thanks fro the heads up about calendars. Im heading over to Neath in the week and they have a works there so will have a look.

My day today is cleaning. Im in work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and then my husband Owen has all the following week off so I'm hoping we can get out and do some things with the kids. I've a feeling I'm in this week to help train new staff though ready for Christmas. Either way I wont get too much time to clean and tidy and the HOliday Cleaning Plan on MHH starts next week so I will be trying to crack on with that too.
Wednesday this week is reserved for School Shopping. :(:(

Thanks for the nice blue hair comment everyone, I'm liking it more each day and it doesn't feel as strange as I thought it might lol.

VULPIX I hope the phone has responded to the rice. Hope you have a fab time at the flower show today, I was thinking I might try and go to the Hampton Court one next year - I'd love to go to Chelsea but I don't think I could deal with the crowds. Spam has that effect on me too - MP has a lot to answer for.

MURIE I've only ever been to one Christmas market in Guttersloh when DD1 lived in Germany. I lîved it but it was only a small one so probably not worth a special trip.

Glad you had a nice birthday TREASUREQUEEN (not glad about the ME) and I'm with you on the Boots ad - corruption of such a song shouldn't be allowed lol.

MRSINVISIBLE I feel your pain with the knitting, not that I've ever attempted anything as complex as cable. I did once manage a jumper with liquorice allsorts all over it when the girls were small but do t knit at all now. I was hoping to teach DGD but she's left handed and I just can't get my head round how to do it the wrong way round.

Took me three hours and forty minutes to do a two and a half hour journey yesterday. Lesson learnt, do not put postcode into phone without glasses on!

Done the rounds of the diy shops this morning so working on the kitchen today. Really hoping not to muck up the worktop cutting.

Small world SAMMYKAYE. She was there from 2008 to 2011 because her OH was in the army. She said they know Ummelm, they lived in Gutersloh itself but before that they lived in Harsewinkel.

Thanks for the sympathy on the knitting. Peppa, l am left handed but was taught to knit right-handed. l taught my DD and DGs' and DGD the same, (all right-handed). l can't crochet right handed though, but my granny taught me by sitting beside me with a mirror in front of us, so l watched through the mirror, and copied it.
the only Christmas market l have been to is the one in York, l thought it was lovely, if a bit pricey, but cant compare it with anything.
Knitting has been ravelled and re worked, so l am smiling again. Have nearly finished sanding and repainting the fence round the back garden, Now l need to clear and re-stock the border with Fuchsias and some perennials that are bursting their pots with roots.
Well, start of another week, l wonder what it will bring us all. xxx

    Hi all,

I am cream crackered. We walked miles yesterday. The sun shone and we had a good laugh.Must say for a flower show there were not many flowers!
In that respect it was disappointing. We paid a lot of money to go to a market basically.I did buy a few plants though.I did sleep well last night.

TQ I like a bargain like yours.;)50p a bottle is great.

Mrs I,you clever thing doing complicated knitting.I can knit but have never done anything complicated. If I go wrong I have to take it to my Mum to sort out.

Sammy K I don't live in Chester,I live in the Peak District National park but its not too far from me.The thing is, where I live you have to travel to do anything so an hours drive or so is usual for me.I know Nantwich.I was a social worker back in the day and had a client there.Chester zoo is a nice place to visit,I have been many times on school trips with the school I used to work at.Your Husband will get some great photo opportunities there.I have never been to Hereford, just been through on the way to South Wales. Is it a good place to shop then?Sleep paralysis sounds terifying:eek:

Peppa you are braver than me at cutting your worktops.I would love to do woodwork but am scared to do so.Glad to hear you are rocking the blue hair.

DD2 hasn't attempted to switch the phone on yet.She has been advised to leave it several days.

I have so much to do,I don't know how ever I had time to go to work.

    Vx

Foolhardy rather than brave I think VULPIX but thankfully it went ok and they're cut and in place. Plumber coming Wednesday to fit sink and appliances then electrician for second fix on Saturday and then it's just finishing touches which is the nice bit. :D. It must be lovely to be in the National Park although I expect you see your share of rough weather.

MRSI your grandmother sounds like a very resourceful lady, I'd never have thought about the mirror. I might have a go at teaching DGD to knit righthanded then if you've managed it. Mind you she's got the attention span of a gnat so I'm not overly hopeful.
