Oh my I think I've fallen in love with baubles! :rotfl::rotfl: https://www.coxandcox.co.uk/twelve-woodland-animal-glass-baubles Sadly I don't have my own tree (have a small bedroom) and they wouldn't go with my Mum's colour scheme for the family tree.

Just popping in to share that yesterday the hairdresser said my hair was finally ok enough after the chemo to have it coloured so at last I have. I felt I wanted something different so............it's blue! Yes, blue, sort of navy with a couple of other blues/teal sliced into it. It's still shorter than I'd like but finally I don't need the wig (unless I fancy a change of course) and I've got colour! Considering I don't really like people looking at me it's probably a strange choice but I think I love it. Back on tonight, family visiting today and then dropping DGD off on the way home. :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

They have some stunning items on that sire dont they - I think I managed to redecorate the whole living room with things from there - so pretty - but expensive!

Peppa - the hair sounds lovely. I can imagine thats a nice milestone after having your chemo. Well done lovely and I wish I was brave enough to go blue!

Peppapig Wow, blue hair! :D

Sorry I've not been posting lately but real life got in the way (again!) and I was also away to Devon on holiday. :)

Hopefully everyone is keeping well and managing to grab bits and pieces for Christmas - only 127 days to go (at the time of posting).

    Bye for now!

Sammy-kaye- yay! I saw the Christmas cards in the Card factory this morning- it gave me the Christmas tinlges lol!

Clumsy- Argh STOP!! There are too many lovely things on that site- too much temptation!1 I really like those animal baubles too. I hope your cold is a bit better today.
DH has had a resurgence of his lurgy today so is spending the day in bed. I got to go shopping on my own and its amazing how much cheaper the shopping bill is when he's not there adding things he things are necessary (chocolate and crisps mostly!)

Free- hope its all OK x

Peppa- you've waited a looong time for this hair colour- you will rock the blue lady xx

3fortheholidays- did you have a great holiday?

As DH wasn't with me today I was able to save a bit on the shopping so bought a bottle of whisky for the present stash. It was reduced in Tesco and I had a voucher for £3.50 off so I got a good deal on it. That will be a bit more towards BILs present( either his birthday in October or for Christmas).

Has anyone got any European Christmas market suggestions? DD is having a few issues at the mo and I thought about treating her to a trip to one (Ooh hark at me- 2 months ago I would have had kittens if anyone suggested anything like that! I know I can keep the claustrophobia under control now on a plane!). It would have to be a short flight though, no longer than 2 hours. If any of you have been to one that you would recommend Id appreciate the advice.
    lovin' this site!

Thank you for the blackberry ideas, sorry I keep playing catch up on here! Busy busy times trying to get our home in order and get things ready for birthdays/weddings/our holiday in the next week or so!

Christmas is well and truly on the back foot at the moment, but me and my other half have made a pact to not buy much for each other this year (we get lots from family anyways), as we're looking to go on a couple of expensive holidays next year. So our money will go to that!

Murie - your cat and the spam and Yorkshire pudding made me laugh!

Definitely up for this wrapping party idea! I'll check out the magical holiday home forums too for ideas, thank you for mentioning it.

For my friends' Christmas presents I have bought big cookie jars with the screw on lids. I was going to fill them with sweets, but thinking it might work out quite expensive. So instead, I'm tempted to fill the jars with individually wrapped bits e.g. hot chocolate sachets, Christmas shaped chocolates/sweets - anything like that, that I can possibly buy in multipacks and divide between the six of them.

Wondering if that will work out cheaper than layers of sweets!?

murie I really enjoyed my holiday in North Devon but weather was a bit mixed. To be honest, it was the 2 week break from work that I really enjoyed! :D

With regards to the European Christmas markets, it would probably help us to provide suggestions if you could provide your preferred departure airport.

    Bye for now

  • Hello everyone, not been on here for a while, Thanks for the birthday wishes I had a good day even though I was at the start of an M.E relapse. Had a Chinese takeaway at my parents and watched movies.

Peppa: Wow blue hair sounds great. Just think how far you have come you deserve to be happy.

The boots advert theme-tune makes me want to say the right Christmas song. It drives me nuts every time I hear it.

The works now have 2018 calendars and diaries in store and online.

On the Christmas front I need to buy plenty of boxed cards as I thought I had some in the stash but they are all gone. Still need to buy special Christmas cards for family but am finding it hard buying cards for any occasion this year, the cards seem to be tacky or the words aren't right. I like traditional cards with wordful meanings but cant seem to find them anywhere.

I've yet to make a list of food and drink to buy for Christmas so will work on that tonight as there isn't much on TV.

Spam in general amuses me( must be the monty python influence),even better stolen spam.Next door came to enquire if we had seen a boot and Mum had to get it out of the dustbin.

I have been to Dusseldorf and Hamburg Christmas markets. In general I liked Dusseldorf best but influenced by the fact it poured with rain the whole time we were in Hamburg and it snowed in Dusseldorf.I have been to Manchester a couple of times but don't like it,too busy.Chester is lovely, there is also a winter parade and the cathedral has a Christmas tree festival.Chester in itself is a lovely place to visit and small enough to walk round. And I could come to meet you!

    Blue hair Peppa,fantastic.

I am having a spate of insomnia for the past 3 nights.I hope its cured tonight,I am off to Southport flower show tomorrow with the bee itches n stitchers.Far too cold for gardening.I have a Christnmas Rose in flower!

So all decorating is done.I made an appointment to have the house valued. Can't come for a week due to me going to my friends Mum's funeral and the guy being on holiday/bank holiday.Gives me time to paint the dated wardrobe in our room and our bedside cabinets.

DD2 dropped her iphone down the loo! we only got it mended yesterday! In rice as we speak.

alja I think layers of sweets could work out expensive, bulkier little gifts is the way to go.

I love the idea of us all wrapping together, sounds great to me.I must check out the forums.

  • I also think its a great idea us wrapping our presents together. Home sense and TKmaxx now have a loyalty scheme and when you pick up the loyalty card you get a free shopping bag. I have picked up a few bargains and put them by for Christmas, I was in there today and the staff were putting out autumn garlands and mini ornamental pumpkins already.

In Tesco martini Asti is down to £6.00 I used my Tesco club card vouchers and only paid 50p for a bottle.
